They will still be available but will be used far less. For example, for only 5% of generation in GB, compared to ~30% now. They'll be what gets us through dunkleflaute periods.

Italy, Germany & the UK are fueling Europe’s #FossilGas crisis—accountable for 45% of existing & half of new gas power capacity. Despite their 2030 (🇬🇧) and 2035 (🇩🇪🇮🇹) clean power targets, none of these countries have a plan to phase out their combined 931 gas power units.
