A former dev from Arxel Tribe / Sinister Systems is on the RPG Codex talking about the 2003 Slovenian RPG 'Mistmare' rpgcodex.net/forums/threa... Interesting look at the challenges they faced - like how the writing was done expecting an actual writer / native English speaker to review it later

We've frequently been criticized for the poor quality of writing, of the dialogues in particular, which are also way too long and wordy. But in our defense, the deal with Arxel was that a professional, native english speaking writer would be hired for a complete overhaul before the game was published. As we were neither professional writers nor native speakers, that seemed pretty reasonable. But as it happened, there was just yet another case of "applied mismanagement" in the end, because the "overhauled text" we got from that lector was pretty much unchanged. Bummer!

If the name Arxel Tribe means nothing to you, these were the guys making Paulo Coelho adventure games in the 90s, and that Ring series. A lot of things start fitting together when you read that in the 90s the studio had some French executives who would later join David Cage's Quantic Dream lol
