Don't forget gaming's biggest gateway drug into history

For me it was age of empires

I still remember getting my ass beat by Lubu for the first time.

The way my eyes widened when I found out this game is based on historical figures.

This, but

This deadass game make love the romance of three kingdom since my childhood

Unironically why I became interested in the Three Kingdoms period, learned about China, and have a job covering the China video game industry.

Extremely real. It was DW 4/5 for me, but twenty-some years later I’m still yapping to my friends about bygone chinese politics lol

It really is. This game is a direct cause for multiple college courses taken, and so many books, shows, documentaries, and movies experienced

Mine was this one, but hell yeah! I wouldn't know a single thing about the period without these games.

That was me with Samurai Warriors, I played the DW games later too, of course.

Age of Mythology's in game encyclopedia

Series single-handedly made me get a new favorite character and now I am watching the 1995 TV series while I am now cosplaying him.
