Love this book, and Armitage's is one of the best in it. Geoff Dyer's is great too, where he complains about not being asked to contribute to the book. "I could turn it around quite quickly and would not require a fee."
You definitely need to read Robin Robertson's "Mortification: Writers’ Stories of their Public Shame" with such luminaries as Margaret Atwood, Irvine Welsh, and Julian Barnes.
