This is where I started with creature design. If you learn comparative anatomy, you can start to make your own unique iterations that feel realistic. The first one is a good basic introduction with the others more in-depth with details. Check out your local libraries, they might have some to offer!

Post your sona and species! Zyraxus is my main! He's a shiothek [SHEE-oh-thek], a type of sapient dragon originating from an alternate dimension/extraterrestrial earth-like world

A green and black dragon with stripes and a back frill sits facing away with a wing outstretched against a warm background with sunset-hued clouds in the distance. There are three stylized glowing four-pointed stars in the upper left corner. Text reads: Zyraxus, Status: Active, a male shiothek eandarae born on the ringed planet Thaevern of the Keado star system. Fire, 1, heart, malachite, knight of wands. When the sun rises, its rays feast on the old world to birth the new. Ordained Navigator Zenith Eden Viridian.
