That was part of the debate about giving the president pardon power in the first place. I wish I could remember which if the federalist papers to cite off the top of my head but I can’t. Pardons were supposed to be about mercy, and diminishing the harshness of law, but abuse was alway a problem.

People have tried to get that dye out of their tanks and it was easier to just swap out the fuel tank. Either people are going to get hit with a fine for having that stuff linger in their tanks or it’s going to be impossible to tell who’s cheating afterwards.

I have spent the other 1/2 of my life unlearning the bigotry I had internalized. Turns out that being a member of an oppressed minority doesn’t inoculate anyone from incorporating white supremacy into one’s own belief system and it takes a lot of work. Yet, I am the person I am because of it.

The first time I heard the n-word I was 6. There was a guy going door to door asking for donations for his church. My grandmother stood there, white-knuckled grabbing the door frame, while he spoke. So, just in case anyone thinks Carlson has had a change of heart because of Trump: he has not. Carlson, like the rest of MAGA, likes nazism and bigotry but they do not like the outcomes of bigotry. They will fully return to racist policies the moment they convince themselves it will end differently.

Citizens United is certainly a big part but there is a whole big-money pipeline that subverts our voting power; which was the point. I just don’t see a path out of this that won’t take decades. But, I got my painting and books from Switzerland and plan on enjoying a nice French blended red.

I’m still not so sure we did. It is very unlikely that Harris would have lost all 6 swing states in a close election. Furthermore, Trump “won” them just outside the recount margin. Both Musk and Trump have bragged about stealing the election. Trump cheats constantly. Dem leadership failed us.

I really wish I saved the name of the LLC that Musk created so he could donate millions to both of them. If I remember the timeline correctly, Jeffries publicly asked for a donation, Musk created the LLC and then dem leadership started writing harshly worded letters.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that was a talking point from Moscow. If Zelenskyy accepts, they assassinate him. If he rejects, they blame him for continuing the war. It is just not possible to negotiate with, or attempt to accommodate, Putin’s Russia.
