no joke i cried during this stupid fun little event quest because i just love noctis very much.

i was like five years old when the mind virus known as "final fantasy versus xiii" was let out of the lab but it has infected me for life.

literally grinded for this view (levelled from 1-50, beat 2.0 msq, did the collab questline and got 200,000 mgp in less than a week lol)

something crazy i just found out - if you type "girl" while using the windows malayalam phonetic keyboard, the first result in the conversion drop down is a translation, to the level of (in)formality. of course not conjugated or inflected in anyway so pure noun but still. (should be പെണ്ണേ in this case)

no secret i hate the writing in ff16, not simply in terms of its inert and flaccid scenario but down to the sentence level, but a realm reborn is equally as annoying. maehiro and koji fox are a pair who mistake loquaciousness for eloquence.

but also idk FF11 has such a wonderful sense of community. it's because it's a dying* game but there's so many little moments of two ships sailing in the night, I loved just saying hi to people while we traversed the zones past each other. The world design is so fantastic and thoughtful.

i know 14 gets there in later expansions but trusts in ff11 are like. characters in the story. so it feels much more like adventuring with real guys instead of just bots. idk why the duty support npcs in the arr dungeons can't be like minor npcs we've met in the story already if not the scions.

this is not the intended way to play either of these games but final fantasy 11 is an easily superior single-player game to final fantasy 14

the truth is really that ff12 and 13 get this reputation of being games that play themselves but they understand that the basic fundamentals of final fantasy are not very complex and automates them so you can engage with broader strategic decisions

no ff12 is a brilliantly complex game if you choose to engage with it, in my most recent run i was running basch as a dodge tank, I'd give him the ring that casts berserk on him, gambit ashe if berserk cast bubble, if bubble cast lure and then build magic strats on ashe and fran outwards from there

final fantasy 12 is a game where you can theoretically play, at 4x speed, with a gambit setup of "if enemy is near then attack, if hp < 30% then cast cure" and that still feels more active and consequential

update on me trying FF14 again after yoshida mugged me in a back alley five years ago

Free Trial only includes base game zones. Rhapsodies quest 3/4 will require you to go to Norg, which is a Rise of the Zilart zone. So yeah I suppose you can start it technically but you won't progress much.

okie :) I'm a bit sad that free trial players don't have access to Rhapsodies of Vanadiel quests because it's not a conventional expansion and designed to be completed alongside the rest of the game and really add some helpful things as you complete them. but hope you enjoy, it's a lovely game!

ffi-x are on a fairly linear continuum of dungeon to action type gameplay save for v coming after iv i wanna say. it's xi and xii that really bring back dungeoneering as the main gameplay focus.
