Bamboo it seems to depend a lot on the species, my mom's not had too much trouble controlling hers! Though obviously a good harsh north american winter also discourages a lot of more tropical plants from going nuts :P

Hehe oh dear, good to know! I very much like that behavior among alliums, but other species you gotta be careful. Both my mom and my coworker grew luffas this year (I guess they're trendy) and they're notorious for "you only need one plant and you do not want the seeds going in your compost" :P

In related news, I learned recently that "daffodil" in english derives etymologically from "it looks kinda like an asphodel", via dutch bulbs being sold to england. The classical name and name in other languages is, of course, narcissus.

To be fair a lot of windows ecosystem stuff has moved to .net at this point, there aren't too many things that are still com based, but I agree its primary purpose is probably less like apt/yum and more like npm (ew)

Nah you can do non-.net of stuff with it! Firefox even has a package, which I installed back in the day, but it hasn't been updated since 2011 sooooooo... It looked like the future of windows for a year or two there, but then everyone said "Oh wait, downloading exes is easier actually" I guess

I was never really into baseball, but my dad is, and I grew up in Kansas City during the same era for the royals. As soon as I moved to the northeast both the royals and the chiefs started doing really well and the royals won the world series, so I assume I was cursing them from 1992-2014 😅

Generally speaking I'm a Harold supporter, but that's only because I hate what happened to the english language thanks to willyboy. The anglo saxons were a huge downgrade from roman britain tbh and england didn't really get cool again until the angevins imo
