A slightly different #MosaicMonday today. I'm sharing a pic from Ma'arat al-Nu'man in Syria. This was rated as the 2nd best mosaic museum in the world (after the Zeugma museum). 5 of the men in this pic put their lives on the line to protect the exhibits during the war. True Syrian heroes!

I'm not a bird expert. But I think I may have seen a juvenile Golden Eagle flying round Saladin's Castle in Syria. Can anyone confirm or correct please? #eagle #bird

Had a very humbling day today. Visited a mosaic museum in Ma'rat al-Nu'man. The amazing guys from the local archaeology dept risked their lives to protect the mosaics as much as they could during the war, despite barrel bombs from Assad and Russian Airforce bombs. #RealPatriots #Syria #mosaics

A red poppy and a sprig of rosemary in remembrance of those brave men from Australia and New Zealand who fought at Gallipoli under terrible conditions because an arrogant British Sea Lord (Churchill) from another country was too impatient. They deserved better.

Syria next in line. They are already expanding the illegally occupied territory in the Golan Heights. Türkiye could be an issue for Israel there though.
