Thank you so much! I've finally been challenging myself to do more complex compositions and I think it's really paying off 😊

I feel like I've really been killing it for artfight, so you may think I'm finally content and at peace with my art style –– no. absolutely not. I'm more confused and indecisive than ever.

#Artfight revenge for @ryham007.bsky.social that I'm very proud of 🌌
A digital art piece that shows two different scenes in two different panels, both frames in front of a starry blue sky, separated by thick smoke. On top a person in a futuristic armor suit holding a a gun is standing among red light and embers. Below, she is sitting surrounded by gentle green light and plants, pruning some flowers.

...you know what, I should at least do that for the remaining critrole drawings. That would be so smart much smarter than constantly forgetting about posting them.

Zroem @zroem.bsky.social · 22/07/2026
Yeah that checks out. And if I want to have any semblance of a healthy relationship to art and social media, I can absolutely NOT post constantly. That would drive me crazy. So idk, it is how it is I guess🤷‍♀️

Zroem @zroem.bsky.social · 22/07/2026
Sorry for the whining, I tell myself every time "it's just algorithms, it's not healthy to care about this" but it's kinda tough when art is also my work and I feel like I should at least make an effort to have some kinda social media presence.

And the fact I'm not part of a big active fandom anymore! But what fandoms even are around nowadays. It feels like everything is popular for one week and then it's gone

Zroem @zroem.bsky.social · 22/07/2026
It's probably just that I got really lucky having a big and engaged twitter following back in the days, and now that I'm back at square one, it feels like I somehow got worse when my art doesn't get seen when it's really just the lack of audience
110
Zroem @zroem.bsky.social · 22/07/2026
I know it's not very sexy and cool to care about social media numbers but I'm genuinely at a loss as to how to actually get my stuff seen anywhere nowadays

So I am posting this so very late, but in 2024, I got to be part of the Seasons of Hieron zine "A Chaotic Cataloguing", and I'm still so very proud to have been part of such a cool project. Here's my piece "Turbulent Beginnings". #friendsatthetable
A digital painting that shows the Hieron cast heading to Eventide Island at the very beginning of Fall of Hieron. Fantasmo and Hadrian, in a boat close to the viewer, are battling the waves, Fantasmo casting a spell to calm the waters. Further back, the second boat helmed by Hella is teetering on a wave, Lem and Fero crouching to keep their balance, Lem cradling his violin. In the distance, a tall grey tower is lit from behind by the setting/riding sun.

Aaaand a Gallagan #artfight attack for my lovely friend @/nuggetcereal
A drawing with two parts. In the top part, an brown-haired elven researcher is pouring over a book by candle light, framed by blue thistle plants. In the bottom part, the same man is seen dancing with a black woman in a yellow dress, a lute hung around her shoulders. The wax from the candles in the top part of the painting is dripping down, obscuring her face.

Quick #artfight attack on @tujiux.bsky.social because Mismar's design is neat
A digital, sort of hazy and dreamlike drawing of a blue-skinned woman with horns and dark blue hair framed by colorful flowers. She is glancing up at the viewer, smiling, holding a quill.

#artfight attack of Lord Arlow for ariene_arts 🌙 Every time I do more painterly art I wanna cry but I think this one turned out well
A painting of a mysterious fay man with long, two-toned black and white hair standing among willow trees at night. He is lit up by warm light streaming from under a parasol he's holding, the rest of his surroundings dark blue and green

Newt 👁️ @eyeofthenewt.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
Hi #portfolioday I'm Charlie 'Newt' Borovský, slavic artist who loves depicting folklore, the occult and dark storytelling. I have over 8 years of experience in TTRPG art but also dabble in book cover & illu. and game/animation concept art. portfolio: eyeofthenewt.com links: linktr.ee/EyeOfTheNewt
two fantasy illustrations side by side:
The Night Washer - a painting depicting a dangerous-looking old woman with long dark hair, long pointy nose, yellow glowing eyes and a wicked smirk. She is up to her thighs in river water, washing a bloodied sheet of linen. The scene is in darkness, with a strip of lighting illuminating her only partially. The surface of the water is covered in duckweed and there are ravens flying around the figure. The figure has metal coin jewelry woven into her wild, dark hair that falls down her back and into the water like a thick blanket. There is a full moon visible in the reflection of the water.
The text at the bottom reads: “Charlie Newt Borovský @EyeOfTheNewt” and “© Crow&Crown 2026”.

The Gryndylow Coven:
Peg Powler:
Painterly digital illustration of a cackling hag emerging from a pond. She is chubby, with dark green skin, pointy teeth and wild curly hair. There are water lilies in the duckweed covered water around her and she holds a jar filled with human fingers and eyes. Her expression is cute but scary as she seems to be cackling, clutching the jar to her chest. On her head, there is a large spiky leaf fashioned into a hat.
Nelly Longarms:
She is lanky, with long clawed arms, sitting on a river rock and folding her arms under her chin in a cutesy expression. Her arms and legs are covered in fish scales and on her head there is a pointed headdress resembling horns. Her face is framed with shiny coins and she wears an extravagant leather armor and long flowy skirt with tassels and ribbons hanging down.
Peg Powler:
She is tall, clothed in algae and seaweed, with blood covering her chin and dripping down her chest. The hair from her head flows down and turns into algae as it cascades over her shoulders. There are clam shells hanging down her attire like jewelry and her algae skirt is full, sinking down into the water she stands in. The surface is stained with the same blood we can see on her face and hand.digital illustration showing a scarecrow construct tipping his hat as he's about to leave into a dry corn field, from which ghosts of farm people are emerging. There is a banjo at his back and the large crescent moon has a wicked face on it. The text at the bottom shows the Avantris Entertainment logo and reads: ©Crooked Moon 2024 Charlie "Newt" Borovský @eyeofthenewt.An assembly of digitally painted environments depicting:
column 1:
1. A mossy waterfall in a forest with beads hanging from branches and votive trees at the sides
2. A sunlit water shrine with a small waterfall in the background. There are offerings on the stones in the foreground
column 2:
3. A sunrise river with birds at the banks and fog in the background.
4.A dark lake with a small orange moon above it. There are small boats tied at the edge in the foreground and the trees are bare.
5. A couple small thermal pools with steam rising from them with a stone formation and a forest in the background.
column 3:
6. A sunlit river with lush trees at the sides and some seaweed at the surface.
7. A gloomy abandoned village submerged halfway in waters which spill from a dam in the distance. The scene is overlooked by a large mountain in the background and birds nest on the destroyed roofs as debris floats below.
8. An overcast scene of a river surrounded by trees. There is duckweed and algae on the water surface. An assembly of digitally painted portraits depicting:
Row 1:
1. A sick looking man in proper yet threadbare clothing wringing out his hands in a bloodied handkerchief as he stares at the viewer, frowning, with glazed over eyes like ones of a corpse. His hair is light brown and messily pulled into a ponytail. He stands on dark background and there is a thin golden oval frame enclosing his portrait
2. A sad looking young man with a long hooked nose and large eyes with bags under them. His hair is dark and windswept reaching down to his chin. He is well dressed in a victorian attire with a yellow cravat and the background he stands in front of is yellow as well. The portrait is oval shaped and lays on a dark background.
3. A white haired stern looking woman holding a gold rectangular puzzle box in her hands. She is depicted in darkness and the portrait is framed by a neutral brown oval.
Row 2:
4. A white haired black woman in a fancy Victorian green jacket embellished with floral embroidery. She has pearl earrings on and reflective eyes both of which glint in the light. The background is dark but there is an oval frame made out of thorned branches enclosing her.
5. A dark haired woman with tired features holds a hand up to her eye and looks up concerned. There is a drop of blood coming from her nose and her eyes are the darkest spot on the painting. The frame is oval and dark.
6. A young scared looking maid looks to her side as she is enveloped by large leathery bat wings. There is a glint of an eye in the darkness behind her and the oval frame the painting is in is engraved with bark like motifs with stylised eyes set into the grain.

It's true, even just fixing up the Deuce costume last week took more time than I technically had... I skipped out on the meet&signing thing at mcm because I didn't wanna spend the extra money, but I realized in post that it would have been really cool to get my art signed :')

Lol I looked up where gencon is and had a moment of "Lake Geneva?? Like our Swiss lake Geneva??" Are you planning on cosplaying? When I made Deuce, it was MCM London 2018 when the CR cast was actually there and it was so fun seeing all the other cosplays.

Zroem @zroem.bsky.social · 16/05/2026
I barely cosplay! I made this Deuce 8 years ago for one con, first and only cosplay, and haven't worn it again till Yesterday. It was really fun to both make and wear though, so I hope I'll find inspiration to make another one in the future.

Critical Role doodles - campaign 2 ep 95 (Caduceus ep!!): Statues Sprouting Roots #criticalrolefanart #MightyNein
Two colorful, atmospheric drawings showing Caduceus Clay from critical role. In the first one, he is surrounded by overgrown statues, reaching out towards a point out of frame with a shocked look on his face. In the second one, he is standing in chest-deep water, surrounded by lilly pads, smiling warmly as he is watching floating purple crystals sprout roots.

Critical Role doodles - campaign 2 ep 93: The Harpies The Hag's Hut #criticalrolefanart #MightyNein
Two digital drawings, both using rich reds and painterly brushes. In the top one, Beau and Nott are looking up at a black-feathered harpy perched up in a tree. In the second one, Beau, Nott, and Yasha have warily stepped into the hag's hut. They're shown from a high angle, all three framed by iron cages hanging from the ceiling. Behind them, in the open doorway, Jester is glancing into the hut.
