I rescued some Holiday Barbies. I'd been staring at the first doll for eons, but my rule is not to pay more than $25 for a Barbie. Lots of folks out there think they are worth so much money, and sadly, they're not. Either way, I got her for my target price, and she's now on my shelf.

Thankfully, I am feeling better now because it's back to taking care of my family member, who is also thankfully in good spirits and looking better than the day she was taken into the ambulance. I'm glad she's being taken care of well because my hospital experience was hellish and terrifying.

Who wants to spend an entire day aching all over and feeling nauseous? Swelling up and having joint pain took me out for a day because of a tiny amount of soy sauce. It's frustrating that it's not taken seriously because people can't get over the obsession with calling GF a fad.

It's so frustrating trying to do anything with Celiac or adjacent illnesses triggered by gluten. I guess from now on I will have to bring my own container of GF soy sauce. I am so tired. If there were a pill that helped, I would take it, but it's not the same as lactose intolerance.

We went out to eat to relieve some stress and I had sushi. Despite being assured that the soy sauce I had was actually the gluten-free one, I think they must have just poured it into the regular one because the taste was slightly saltier. I didn't feel sick right away but the next day I did.

And paying $20 for a cleaning and nothing at all for X-rays for dental stuff. Insane. I got a chipped tooth filled for only $70 rather than the hundreds without it. All this to say: if you have insurance, please use it. Life without it can be brutal, and you don't have to suffer if you do have it.

Years ago, I couldn't have fathomed how nice it would be to finally have eye, dental, and dermatologist care. Like they caught precancerous cells on my face and took care of other things I would have had to "live with" because I had no other way to deal with them.

And I finally have access to medication to manage things that I never had access to before. Doctors without insurance don't care. I finally had the govt healthcare, and they refused even to read an X-ray that showed a broken bone, and that was a whole other nightmare.

After being bedridden for months and stuck using a wheelchair for years, I never had access to physical therapy, and it made everything worse. I'm in it now, years later. I'm finally getting strength in my legs again and can get off the floor in seconds instead of 30 seconds to a minute.

Please take care of yourselves, especially if you do have health insurance. I didn't have it for years, so it made my illness worse because I never had access, but if you have it, get those tests done.

This last week was not great at all. We ended up having to call 911 for a family member who couldn't breathe. She ended up in the ICU and will need surgery. We'd been trying to get this person to a doctor for years, and they never went. I'm glad she's stabilized, but heart surgery is no joke.

I also feel weird about the old animation since I was using like an ancient computer that felt like it was gonna die with a 4 frame animation cycle...modern computers can handle so much more now. Speaking of which I should get back to maybe animating my pilots/shorts and clips.

I'm working on one more image from the former freelance job, and then I'm moving on. This was so long ago that I sort of felt guilty about the quality of the art from 18 years ago. Back then it was all hand-drawn, inked with microns and scanned into Photoshop. Now I almost exclusively draw digitally

...I don't feel like making videos anymore much less putting my pilots and shorts up just for no one to see them. It feels so defeating. I think I will return to the old way of only posting art videos to link people to if they need to see things. It's not worth the time sink.

So YouTube changed its algorithm, and I get almost no views. I never got a lot of views, but when the Shorts program came, I was getting over 2000 views. Now the same video gets 2 views. I've had people tell me they now see posts from 6 years ago. TikTok was good until that changed and now
