These may be my greatest (costume-related) creation. Boots for my daughter's Bakugo cosplay.
A pair of knee-high black boots with chunky orange soles and two rows of orange eyelets going up the front. The top has a slight flare for attitude.

Taking a picture with a camera phone through one side of my binoculars from middle school... Bringing you what I can from the far side of the country (Oregon)!
The moon, a reddish disk against blackness, with a brilliant arc of bright white light across the upper 1/4, at a jaunty leftward angle. The darker areas of the lunar surface are faintly visible as a darker brown-grey.

I finally got an opportunity to fix up the lighting for this art piece I collaborated on. Proper tools and materials make a big difference!
Mounted in the corner of a room, above a Marshall amp, a rack of guitars, and an extensive collection of records, a massive multicoloured disco ball painted on a disc of plywood is jauntily angled. Around the back rim, rows of LED lights broadcast patterns of rainbows. Painted across the wall leading away from the disco ball is a ray of rainbow colours, spreading out to the far wall.

When you leave Shape Invaders set up at a party, people make art between matches!
UV-reactive playing pieces arranged in a pattern. Two moon shapes are stacked in the middle and then two other moon shapes fan outward like shoulders. Three alien heads on each side form downward arcs. Atop the "shoulders" a planet/UFO shape forms something like a head.Several different colours of UV-reactive shapes, yellow, green, orange, and pink form something like a vase with flowers, or a strange pineapple.

I mean, in my defense, I did go slightly overboard with the art...
A collection of small game pieces, representing bits of fantastic jungle foliage. Some have brightly coloured flowers, many have vines, some spines and leaves and rocks.A club symbol, painted with different rock formations, dunes, a high arched bridge, and a foundation of bricks and inlaid gems.Four small eggs. The first is leafy green, patterned with scales shaped like a spade symbol (though you can't see the stems). The second is mottled tan and brown and grey with scaled clubs. The third is red and black, like lava and cooled crust, on a pattern of scaled hearts. The fourth is icy blue with a diamond pattern.A close up of a spade symbol painted with an abundance of leaves, vines, flowers of all different shapes and sizes.

Working up some card frames...
Two watercolour and ink card layouts. The left has a dark brown border with three divisions going up the card. The outer sides of each division has a motley mix of yellow, red, green, and blue splotches. The center of each is empty. The right has a black rectangular border, with some curved triangles of yellow, blue, red, and green coming inward from the sides, interlaced with wispy grey blobs. The center is lightly browned, like a parchment surface.

The second in the series. This may be one of the coolest projects I've ever done.
A heart symbol but painted to look as if it was made of lava and fire. The bottom portion of it is chunks of basalt with lava flowing and dripping below it. The twin lobes of the heart are spirals of flame wreathed in spines and spikes of basalt and lava rock.A quick sketch concept of the heart with some vague outlines of where there might be rocks and two spiraling patterns surrounded by loose twisting flames.A detail of the painted bottom of the heart where stone is interlaced with channels of lava, oozing through cracks and crevices.A detail of the upper lobe of the heart where a spiral of twisting, yellow, white and red creates a flaming vortex with flames washing up over and abuttong a dark stone exterior.

Made a cool thing. 100% tactile, physical, real, human art. Kiddo art directed it. Such a joy to make things, and beyond pleased at how it turned out.
A spade symbol created out of elements of nature. Its base resembles a tree with ferns mushrooms and small plants. Vines creep up the trunk before expanding into the two lobes of the Spade. On the right side, there are spines along the lower edge and a swirl of vines that culminates in a red and orange flower burst on the left hand side are larger leaves with blue teal and pink flowers. A swirling Vine with leaves forms that lobe and up through the center is a spine of leaves, culminating in a lotus type flower with a dark green spined base and pinkish white petals swirling up into a crowning bud.A rough sketch of the Spade symbol where you can see the outlines of the vines, spines, lotus style flower, major leaves, and the trunk of the tree.A detail shot of the lotus at the top. The ink wash is dark on the underside mottled green across the bottom of the flower. The petals themselves have an outer lining of deep purple with a lightish pink blossom shape.A detail of the bottom of the Spade showing the mushrooms clustered around the base of the tree. The ferns and the start of the vines creeping their way up the trunk.

It has arrived! @dresdencodak.com 's incredible Dark Science! Wahoo!
A large book lies flat on a table. It has a fine black cloth band along the spine and a glossy dark grey cover. The words "Dark Science" are centered at the top in a silvery font that evokes art deco signage. Beneath that, in smaller text, is "Volume 1: The City of Giants". An illustration is centered below it: a figure with shoulder-length black hair, whipped back by the wind, is striding up along a grassy slope, looking upward and away from the viewer toward a large shell of a creature's face, smooth like porcelain with two circular spots as eyes that forms the foundation of an island that appear to be floating in the sky with a city visible on its brim. Below the illustration is the creator's name "Sen".
Perched on the left side of the book is an embroidered patch, circular, with teal text against a black background around the edge that reads "Department of Opposition". In the center of the patch in black against a lilac background is a wide brimmed hat atop the tips of two crossed daggers, with a skull below them. Across the center, split by the daggers, is "Est. 1928". In the black border along the bottom edge of the patch are the words "Lawful Evil".
Perched on the right side of the book is a magnet depicting a black and white cat with a screen for a head. The antennae are styled like cat ears.
Below the book is a print of a pair of figures sitting and leaning against each other, facing up toward the viewer, as a rainbow-hued aurora spans the sky and dozens of bright white shooting stars blaze downward at stark diagonals from upper left to lower right. One of the figures has shoulder-length poofy black hair with a shock of white, is wearing a blue jacket with their hands in their lap and is looking up in wonder. The other figure is taller, with poofy white hair swept to the side, a lilac and red sleeveless tunic, and has their eyes closed and their hands raised in front of their chest in a moment of blissful delight.

Sculpting some game tokens from paper mache clay and driveway gravel, casual-like.
Three greyish circular tokens are aligned next to a ruler. They're each about 40mm across (1.5 inches, give or take a few). The left has several small rocks in it. Eventually, it will look like the surface of lava. The middle one has a small bud with leaves rising above several smaller plant-like shapes: some vines and leaves, with another flower behind them. The third has an upraised ring of clay and small rocks around a central depression. It will eventually look like a tunnel entrance.

Also, this ridiculous project where I made eight deck boxes...
A sketch of an unfolded deck box, with thick borders to the panels and vines winding continuously around the whole thing.Four linocut blocks, each a different layer of the deck box design. The lower right is black, underlying the vines and edges of the panel edges. The lower left is the thick border, destined for silver. The upper left is the vine details, to be green. The upper right is the outline of the box, to be cut out. There is a wooden block that will be used for alignment with pegs.Eight completed deck boxes, with leaves stamped along the vines and different symbols (the five colours of Magic, the planeswalker symbol, a red dragon, and a dragon egg) in circles on the front of each box.The printed deck boxes, before they are cut and folded, arranged on a table, with a representative spread of matching card sleeves next to each one.

A 2.5" diameter patch, with a merrowed edge (over stitched) and a small loop for hanging from a button or zipper. The patch bears the trans flag colours, striped horizontally with light blue, pink, white, then pink, and light blue again. The words "Protect Trans Kids" are embroidered in black over the pink-white-pink stripes. The patch sits in my hand, and behind it are a dozen more scattered on a playmat.

My kiddo's Pinewood Derby car... @teamcherry.bsky.social
The Bell Beast from Hollow Knight: Silksong, carved from a block of wood, it is about 7" long and 3" tall with wheels, with a bone-like horned mask as the front, a silvery-grey segmented body like an isopod, and a small figure with a red dress and a horned white mask atop it. It sits in a tray with some paintbrushes. A small figure, resembling Hornet from Hollow Knight, sculpted out of polymer clay and painted with a red dress, white horned mask, and black eyes and legs, with a slim silver needle-like sword across her back sits astride a carved wooden model of the Bell Beast, a silvery-grey isopod-like creature. In the background are some small wheels with nails for axles, some paintbrushes, and some paints on a tray.Hornet, a figure with a red dress and silver sword across her back, her horned mask tilted back from implied speed, sits atop the Bell Beast, a large segmented bug. It has wheels, because it is a Pinewood Derby car; carved from a block of wood, it is about 7" long and 3" tall.A sketch of the Bell Beast design sized to a Pinewood Derby block (7" long, 1.75" wide, 1.25" tall). It has been noted with colors, like "selvery gray", and augmented by a bunch of painted marks, including smiley faces, frowny faces, and a snowman wearing a hat.

I did that a few times with pickles (the nails + wall socket), but I put a switch and 30 amp fuse in the circuit. They glowed and then exploded... Found the cooker thing, for entertaining reference:
A box from the 70's for the Presto Hot Dogger. Next to the box is a device made of white plastic, with a set of vicious metal spikes pointing inward along parallel edges of an arched space. A matching smoky clear cover is poised to slide over the cooking device.

Following up: it is absolutely fantastic. This is how I'm rolling up to every gathering this season.
A geeky person with red glasses and blue hair, wearing a tri-met themed sweater and holding a red-and-green vinyl record. The sweater has a smiling MAX train with two smiling buses next to it on white against a green background, with a few snowflakes. The Tillicum crossing bridge is below it. A red band around the bottom of the sweater has the trimet logo in the center and the zone icons (a salmon, snowflake, beaver, deer, and others) around it. The green background forms into mt hood near the collar. The record is "A Very Skatune Christmas".
