Like yeah, it is a little uncomfortable when Setsu kills Sha-Ming in the game That's the point, though? Setsu isn't the "perfect victim" who puts up with the harrassment without ever lashing out. The game insists that you care about them anyway

The game articulates this point most clearly in the True Ending when Setsu & the player dunk on SQ Yes, she sucks. Yes, we want her back anyway (It's telling that the anime cut this part in particular, in spite of otherwise adapting the True Ending as faithfully as it could)

Their responses are also similar in some ways (e.g. a certain degree of emotional repression) but also radically different in others, particularly regarding gender, sex, and romance, with Setsu being asexual & agender and Stella being Extremely Straight

I hadn't really thought about Setsu and Stella before, but now that you mention it I can absolutely see it I feel like there's a certain degree of similarity in their situations? Both of them occupy roles that encourage them to dehumanize themselves and put others' needs/lives ahead of their own

In Stars and Time's final boss may not be out of this world in terms of gameplay, but narratively, it's one of the best I've seen. Experiencing it in the darkness of my room at midnight is gonna stick with me for ages. I won't spoil the fight. The game is currently 35% off on Steam, go play it!

—where SQ is not Manan. Where does Manan end and SQ begin? The two of them even have the same speech patterns outside of first person pronoun choice, similar stats... But the SQ who is SQ is such a fundamentally different person from Manan. It makes the unintentional similarities both sad and creepy

I love how SQ and Kukrushka are the only two facing right in the ending illustration. They both have their arms behind their backs as they're laughing with their friends, too. These little details, I really love them. It highlights the similarities in their characters that remain even in timelines—

I also had an angstier alternative idea the episode Starts with fem!Yuri doing some of Rem's love event then goes into inescapable past + Remnan dies Leaving Yuri to get some of Raqio's events about Gliese (as they kinda struggle w/ 'but we logically solved the problem why would he still die?')

From there, while it's not logically *required* to remove Setsu from all world lines, I feel like it makes a certain...emotional/thematic sense? Setsu's (non-)existence created a paradox that spans multiple world lines, so they are erased from all world lines

The universe/Gnos/whatever resolves this contradiction by (presumably) retroactively changing how Yuri received their Silver Key and removing Setsu from that world line, too (because they never could have gotten there)

It's admittedly hand-wave-y, but it's a matter of what the deal with ep 1 Setsu is In the game, loop 1 Setsu comes from another dimension, but in the anime, if Bug!Yuri is native to the main dimension, then ep 1 Setsu is probably not from another dimension and must be the main dimension's Setsu

Bonnie has no discernible hues for their clothes. The dark shade of their hair, bracelet, shorts and boots reflect some warmth from their skin and light coming from the top left. The cube they sit on has a neutral color with a slightly warm tint to it. The book they hold has splotches of color over a light background for its cover.

Odile's coat is tinted green. It is similar in hue to dry grass where there is light, somewhat reddish near her right hand, and moves towards blue in shadow areas. The book she holds is tinted red, a worn burgundy with some golden accents to it. The darker shades on Odile generally have hues that reflect their surroundings (most notable to me is the part at her ankles, where they approach her skin color).

Episode 17 provides us with an alternative way for Yuri to be eliminated: Yuri is always the Bug, so if the Engineer investigates them, they disappear It was a little surprising that they had gone so many loops seemingly without the real Engineer investigating them even once

I remember at the time the episode aired there was already some speculation about that loop being odd Yuri seems to usually know when they're eliminated by the Gnosia, but this time, when they wake up in the next loop, they aren't sure what happened

I think the Gnosia anime did Setsu a disservice in ONE huge area and thats the fact that every dozen loops or so you get a notice day 1 that Setsu killed Sha-Ming by throwing him out the airlock

My main motivations: 1) Erasing them from ~90% of Yuri's total loops feeds into the anime treating Setsu more as a symbol/plot device than character 2) Setsu's feelings toward Yuri feel unbelievable in part because of how little time they actually spend together

I can't think of anything in the worldbuilding or themes that requires Setsu to be erased from *all* world lines (the universe messing with people's memories to hide original!Yuri's disappearance means that Setsu would probably disappear from the Normal Ending world line)
