Highly recommend: Signed up to my local D&D club this week and my one is great. Now I have a new terrifyingly expensive potential time sync of a hobby and am having serious thoughts about designing custom miniatures

I'm paraphrasing but "I would like a committee to decide a timetable plan and announce it two weeks from now" is very much how this premiership has gone. Maybe we'll have a prime minster by September? The far right has mobilised, is everywhere and we're here working half days on assembling a […]

Britain's first NPC prime minister announces his resignation, expresses no opinions on his successor, and hands over decisions about a contest to a committee to decide a process. Apt. #ukpol #starmer Back to "something decisive will happen tomorrow" on liminal-island.

Finished Mixtape last night, and man is it a stylish game. Beautiful stuff, so polished. Great needle drops, great writing. Yeah loved that. Loved Artful Escape and this is Beethoven and Dinosaur really stepping up the scope and smashing it out the park again. #indiegames #mixtape

Two things can be true at once: 1) Starmer is a political coward who is throwing someone under the bus to avoid responsibility for his own failures. 2) The civil service, and particularly the foreign office is rife with unelected bureaucrats advancing their own agendas on government policy and […]

I can't be the only person who thinks both that Olly Robbins deserved to be fired AND Kier Starmer has terrible judgement and is entirely responsible for the mess he is in. I finally made the plunge and resurrected a laptop that was getting planned-obsoletely slow on windows and is now back to life as a peppy little Linux machine ( with Pop!_OS ). I've been reading this book about whale brains and it's got me thinking what if we aren't the smartest animal on earth but we're only the smartest collective intelligence; i.e. when we all are able to network our brains together both in space with direct cooperation, and through time with writing.

Cairn is a surprisingly thorough simulation of climbing, really fun so far but I did get obsessed with climbing all the bouldering routes in the starting area. Bit worried the survival mechanic will be a thing, hoping it's pretty light touch on that.
