Wards are gendered and rooms house multiple people. My dad's in a room with 5 other men. Public healthcare is invaluable, but it does mean less money for things like rooms.

I miss the communities I had there, and I don't begrudge others who can still use it, but I just couldn't survive there. Even being on BlueSky is becoming a challenge nowadays, but I'm with you: how many times can I be driven off a platform? I have so little connection left as it is.

I had to get off Facebook because the recommendations were always like "we thought you'd like this article claiming trans people like you are all pedos", and anything I posted publicly was descended on by a ravening hyena pack of terfs and 4chan bros. Getting heavily brigaded was the last straw.

First change when I was like 20, again when I was ~25, then again when I got married (we both took a new surname), then again when I transitioned. I think I was always trying to find the right version of myself without knowing why. I'm in the UK so it's easy, harder to get people to respect it.

Absolutely. I did try using Gemini as a personal assistant once, but it was completely useless. So not only have they taken away a vital tool for me, they've done so by making me have to use something less useful. I don't need a conversation with an LLM to add eggs to my shopping list!

I use Google Assistant to quickly set reminders & manage my shopping list and stuff from my watch. It's a key tool for managing my ADHD. This morning I woke up to find it gone, replaced with Gemini. If I want to continue managing my ADHD this way I'd have to use AI. I hate this. #enshittification
