I've heard this is just another form of scam, and I mean scam in the literal definition of the word. Like they will ask the recipient to send PII which they will do god knows what with, or send an NDA in the form of a PDF with a virus in it, etc. It's not based in any legitimate interest.

Health care (via hospitals, medical groups) is vexing because the providers - the people *actually providing the care*, like doctors, nurses, PAs, MAs - rarely have decision making power unless it's some kind of physician-owned partnership for example (which does exist.) So tech companies...
