I grew up watching the old Calamity Jane movie with Doris Day at my grandmas cottage. THAT Calamity was a bit much.

Doris day looking…uh…intimidating I guess? As calamity Jane finding a gun in front of a saloon bar.

Yeah this book is excellent and if you like his style this is also the first entry in an excellent fantasy series he wrote (rest of it isn’t out yet).

The blacktongue thief book cover by Christopher Buehlman featuring two lonely figures walking up outdoor stairs towards a tower. Animal bones litter the foreground ominously.

A lot going on doesn’t begin to describe it.

Some sort of rich persons idea of a fancy living room with lots of wood touches and…what the fuck is that an abstract statue of a woman fucking a Minotaur standing on top of the coffee table?!

There are lots of other choices but there’s this one specific album where Bad Astronaut and Armchair Martian covered one another’s best tracks and I swear they ALL sound better with the other bands style/vocals/etc.

The cover of bad astronaut and armchair Martian’s combined album which features an alien and an astronaut wearing boxing gloves and font reminiscent of an old timey boxing match.

This solo album by Thorn is also absolutely top tier for me.

Zuck: The average American has three friends.

The three main characters from the movie "Role Models" being generally lovable delinquents: peeing on a wall (Paul Rudd), drinking alcohol from a bag (Stifler from American Pie) and being a giant lovable dork (McLovin)

Unstable unicorns has been HOURS of fun for our fam. We’ve played it for years. Expansion packs are fun to add to the chaos.

Yes. This one and gravity’s rainbow could not keep my attention and I tried really hard with both. Even tried annotating as I read to engage.

What the hell is this bot account? What kind of bio line and solo post is that?!?

A bot account whose only post and bio line read “always beaten by my ex husband”

Cool maybe this can be their jerseys next season.

A tshirt that reads “I’m built different (incorrectly)” with a cartoonish anthropomorphic Boeing 747 falling apart in mid air.

I can’t believe how often I find myself thinking about this book these days. Idk if the author is on BlueSky but this is one of the smartest reflections on the art/artist conundrum I’ve ever read.

Does anybody else feel like all the Big Tech voices would have a lot less influence if more people had watched Silicon Valley? After watching that show I just struggle to take any talking head from that world seriously.

Super douchey ceo character from Silicon Valley bragging that “yeah I’m in the three comma club”

Wait a minute can I get a second take at my first post? I realize I should’ve focused on my #dog Luna who won some awards for being an awesome long jumper and a good girl:
