ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE An absolute thrill ride from start to end. While 7 entertained me with its high action combat, 8 floored me away with its emotional storytelling and endearing cast. I know there's plenty of this series I've yet to explore, but this is by and far some amazing work.

Lanterns I had my doubts about the show when they initially started announcing it, but it grew on me as I watched it. Never seen "True Detective" so the comparisons were lost on me. For all the weird choices this show makes, I think they make them work and manage to put a unique spin on things.

The History of Concrete This movie starts out as the rambling of a lost director trying to find a way to pitch a movie about the use of concrete and how it affects the daily life of New Yorkers but then shifts to a somehow emotionally poignant discussion of the impact of the loss of a loved one.

Re: Zero - Starting Life in Another World (S4) I know this arc was one that a lot of novel readers were looking forward to so I had some high expectations. A fair bit of dragging here and there, but overall a lot of high moments with solid character interaction and writing.

Primetime I think a lot of people had the valid concern this movie would play up the events of the show in a positive light, but it does tackle the way everyone involved lost the plot. Pattinson's portrayal of Hansen captures a man who becomes consumed by the demon he swore to catch.

Rune Factory 3 Special (Replay) Still my favorite entry in the series. While I wish the changes made in Special were a little more than just visual stuff, I still think it's probably a nice and cozy little time.

Saijo no Osewa Probably one of the few times in a while where I feel like an adaption absolutely phones it in. The kind of production I would maybe expect from a romcom like 1-2 decades ago but it really felt like this did nothing to expand on the source material. Just going through the motions.

Resident Evil (2026) Can't speak to its quality as something tied to the games, but the people I went with that I know are fans seemed pretty pleased. I definitely enjoyed it as just a movie. There were plenty of easter eggs and references I could tell were meant to be evocative of the games.

The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects (S1) Fell off the manga but I was able to get back into it with the manga, it's a nice fantasy slice of life type show.
