#OCSKY #Paleotheos I actually did do a post a while ago (bsky.app/profile/zhuk...) covering the injuries the Aspects have received. Considering it’s 7 months old now, some details have changed.

#AwesomeCharacters #Paleotheos Of the Aspects? It’s a toss up between Kex and Elohi. Elohi is naturally tough (Aspect of Earth and all), but Kex can and will hurt herself to hurt someone else. And somehow remain standing afterwards.

If you see this, post your fav Disney character currently. I’ll never get over these two sword lesbians.

#AwesomeCharacters #Paleotheos A bit late for this Elohi is really the only major Bi character during the Aspects era. In her first life she simultaneously had a boyfriend and a girlfriend. Then had major feelings for Elytheon (which was mutual, but they. Oth moved on from those). Then with Adal.

#pretendpanel #Paleotheos Man, feels like I just did one of these. Well, I haven’t done the Fateweavers era for one of these. Mecana — Momona Tamada Jun — Ashly Burch Gia — Ashley Johnson Kasar — Mara Junot Serrona — Emily Carey Zara — Ariana Grande

#SongsOfSeptember #Paleotheos I kind of covered this one in the couples day post, but Eanok’s would definitely be Ice Nine Kills’s Bloodbath & Beyond. Especially in the Fateweavers era, Eanok is obsessively in love with Mecana. Something that is very much not reciprocated.

#AwesomeCharacters #Paleotheos Kex — “We’re not doing ‘Get Help’.” Adal — “How is this going to go wrong?” Kumari — Absolute Trust Elohi — “Does it involve you not sacrificing yourself?” Xaawo — “How much did you plan this ahead?” Elytheon — “Going primordial beast is not a plan.”

#AwesomeCharacters #Paleotheos The story perspective jumps between each of the Aspects. Sometimes multiple times a chapter as denoted by dinkus (yes that’s what it’s called). For who and why, it’s usually to whomever is the centerpiece of a given scene. USUALLY.

#AwesomeCharacters #Paleotheos Eanok very much is my take on Winx Club’s Valtor. And while in comparison he’s notably more mellow in his age, there’s a part of him that still is a magical girl villain. The dialogue in the gif is implied in nearly every interaction Eanok has.

#WritingPrompt #Paleotheos I have serious self criticism and probably some half baked imposter syndrome. But this little interaction between Kex and Adal is something I’ve enjoyed. (You’ll probably have to expand the image to see it all)

#WritingPrompt #Paleotheos Swear every time I do this kind of prompt, some of the answers change. And because I can’t help myself, it’s going to be the full main cast for the Aspect era of Paleotheos. (I might do Fateweavers another time)

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

#AwesomeCharacters #Paleotheos This is going to be a mix of in universe tidbits as well as behind-the-scenes details. And I've got a lot of both to share.

120

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

#AwesomeCharacters I imagine kicking Grima’s divine dragon ass. The Aspects would be uniquely qualified. And, aside from the overall shift from a paleofantasy setting to a more typical fantasy, I don’t think they’d mind much.

#MythAugust #Paleotheos So, for most within Archea, this isn’t even a concept they think about. Except for one group. The Cult of Tar & Bone. For whom it’s their entire existence.

#AwesomeCharacters So, it’s a tie between two characters, so I’ll cover them both. Jun, old friend of Mecana turned amnesiac woods witch who basically adopts the Aspects. Much of her current personality was taken from a scrapped character. Who in turn was based on Matangi from Moana 2.

#AwesomeCharacters I’m going to be real. No one is taking this crown from Eanok. This man is the poster child of the toxic view of destined lovers. He believes Mecana is his destined and anyone who gets in the way of that is an obstacle. In truth, it’s him genuinely justifying his actions.

130

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

How tall are YOUR characters? Quote with your main cast! Got the Aspects on the left, and the Fateweavers (plus Eanok) on the right.

#MythAugust #Paleotheos The most interaction Myrtu has with mortals is, as one would expect, when they die. He doesn’t answer prayers (not that many are given), nor does he demand sacrifices (he handles enough souls as is).

160

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

#MythAugust #Paleotheos So, to establish this out of the gate, Myrtu — as god of death — is Death. It’s not a Hades situation where he rules it. He isn’t its arbiter. He isn’t there to judge your soul. He is — capital ‘D’ — Death in all its forms. Both natural and unnatural.

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

#MythAugust #Paleotheos Firstly, if you’re not divine, you can’t see Myrtu most of the time. Only when near or around death can normal people see him. And even then, it usually is as one of the Three Faces.

130

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

#MythAugust #Paleotheos Stories about Myrtu led to the epithets of the three most common forms he took when retrieving the dead. The Friend, they who greet you. A peaceful death. The Hunter, they who seek you. A violent death. The Shroud, they who give you mercy. A merciful death.

Post your favorite Disney Princess. Wrong answers only. Did you expect anyone else? #WolfKing #Wereworld

110

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

#MythAugust #Paleotheos Myrtu, prior to being a god, was the koinos (groomed companion/confidant/bodyguard) of Vaalbara’s crown princess, Shorai (Zara and Zayn’s older sister). Sadly, both were killed by Ixen when Eanok made his move for power.

130

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

#WritingQ So, for context, my earliest original stories were centered around folklore, gods, heroes and the like. All for a blog I worked on for a creative writing class. Witashnah was a character born during that time. Child of the White Buffalo Woman from Lakota folklore.

130

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

#MythAugust #Paleotheos Get to make a lore drop here. Archea is a Divine Realm, think the Nordic 9 Realms but as one reality. It's the home of this primordial pantheon of gods and spirits. While gods, aspects and champions can walk among mortals, spirits exist in a non corporeal version of it.

130

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

#WritingPrompt #Paleotheos #MythAugust adjacent This feels like cheating given Paleotheos’s concept. So I’ll avoid the Aspects and Gods and instead cover the other characters.

130

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

#MythAugust #Paleotheos I sort of touched this earlier this month when talking about Mecana and Eanok. So, bonus question it is for starters. Mortals largely do not have an accurate image as to who the gods (or even the Aspects and champions) are. The stories passed down come from somewhere, but...

120

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

#AwesomeCharacters Storytelling with Mecana. The Realm of Dreams has a library of literally every story ever told/to be told. She knows her stuff.

120

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

#AwesomeCharacters I’m always a fan of incorporating a character’s powers into how they express emotions. Anger is no different. For the Aspects, their markings light up, then their powers start making things go wack around them.

120

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

#AnthropologyAugust Another Enlightened, this time just one that hangs around Xaawo, Ziji. Ziji is a Dendrorhynchoides, a little pterosaur the size of a small bird. And… well, just because he’s sapient doesn’t mean he’s got an ‘I’ or a ‘Q’ within his head.

040

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

#AnthropologyAugust Given the Enlightened can theoretically be any animal, there are some that can qualify. Lyuba’s herd are the biggest met within the series. A herd of mammoths that hang around Mecana, the goddess of dreams. Lyuba herself is the matriarch, and is over 1,000 years old.

020

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

#MythAugust Well, this is an interesting one, as it does serve as the ideological backbone to Mecana and Eanok’s conflict with each other (among other things).

130

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

#AnthropologyAugust There is another group of sapient other than humans within Archea, but they aren’t a single species. The Enlightened are any form of animal that has gained intelligence (usually by divine means). Over the course of the story, the Aspects do meet a fair few, but…

150

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

#FantasyIndiesAugust 2 truths and 1 lie about #Paleotheos: 1) The earliest version went by the title ‘Megafauna’ and was a survivalist story staring an early modern human, Moon, and a Neanderthal, Rarc. 2) Bayanai is based on a real paleontological specimen. 3) Kex is named after the Kasai Rex.

140

Ben Doucet @zhukong24.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

#MythAugust Of the full fledged gods within Archea: Mecana, the Fateweaver, Goddess of Dreams Eanok, the Mistwarden, God of Fear Senna, the Wylderman, Goddess of Beasts Myrtu, the Three Faces (the Friend, the Hunter, the Shroud), God of Death Zara, the Last Light, Goddess of the Sun
