Me and a few friends finally got to #DrawSteel last night and it's easily the most fun we've had with a TTRPG system in years -- it was the first session in years where the players asked to play late and they asked to play again sooner than planned. I think @hellomcdm.bsky.social has a gem on hand!

I finally read Old Man's War by @scalzi.com and I'm furious at myself for waiting so long. Read it essentially two sittings -- I could not put it down. Immediately went out and bought more books!

I borderline refuse to patronize my local comic book store because of freaking annoying their website from 2002 is. It's like they refuse to modernize or make themselves more inclusive and attractive to more customers.

Screenshot of a currently live website for a comic book shop that appears to have built in 2002. It has no accessibility features, wasn't built to be viewed on mobile devices, and features a frankly strange image of MJ from the Spider-Man comics welcoming their primary audience: white male incels.

I pulled my first ever massive chase card and I have no idea what to do with it 😅 do people play with $250+ alternate cards like this? Do you sell it and get a more playable version + other stuff? I'm not a huge collector (yet!). @magic.wizards.com #MTGEternities

i absolutely love this note about the D&D 5e spell Goodberry from @rpgbot.net 😂

RPGBot's review of the D&D 5e spell Goodberry: Not useful in combat, but more healing per spell slot than Cure Wounds. Players: Dump all of your spell slots at the end of the day into Goodberry so you have a giant bag of healing to use between combats the next day. DMs: Limit your players to 10 active berries at a time specifically to prevent them from doing what I just suggested.

a beef so culturally pervasive that official brands have no issue doing stuff like this, pinning an attack on titan reference to the official upload of kendrick's halftime show

screenshot of the NFL's official upload of Kendrick Lamar's Superbowl Halftime Show where he performed, among other hit songs, the Grammy-award winning diss track "Not Like Us" about Drake. The pinned top comment (which only the owner of the video, in this case, the NFL, can pin a comment) says "eren yeager doesnt even have this much hate in his heart". This refers to a character from the popular anime Attack on Titan.

My #Cosmere reading list update -- Finished Warbreaker + Dawnshard last week, started Rhythms of War yesterday. I imagine its going to be tough to stop my Stormlight Archive run to read Sunlit Man, but Brandon says its intended to be read before Wind and Truth, so I'll do what the man says! 📖

That said, had an absolute blast of a day. Dad and I rode 17 rides, multiple rerides of our favs, old and new. Just fun to be able to stuff like that with Dad, considering our ages.
