I told my sibs that I do not ask them questions in bad faith: I ask so I can give the love they want/need in the moment. That is shit our parents did. The same parents who refused to address their mental health to improve our lives. I’m the big sister who has done 12 years in therapy *for them.*

Okay so never in my life since I started playing Pokémon in 2008 have I ever gotten a shiny. I just got my first in Pokémon Sleep and it’s a Mimikyu!

What if I had 37k and I paid off everything but my windows and then used the leftovers to build a Linux machine with a ZSA Moonlander keyboard and gave myself a toggle so I could learn DVORAK for absolutely no reason at all?

“But, Ennui, if the Aes Sedai were the most interesting part of the story, why was Mat your favorite character?” The Aes Sedai are messy academics & politicians and I eat that shit like chocolate cake. Mat Cauthon is a sad wet cat quickly running out of lives. I contain multitudes.

Y’all were not prepared. And the current board that approves continuation of programming for Prime lacks vision. So they killed it. Alas. They almost convinced me Rand’s soaked fighting dog rizz could have sustained three wives. (But not really.)

But, and this is, again, IMIO, why there were 8 seasons of GoT and WoT only got 3 before it was axed. The biggest appeal in the books for a lot of us was the Aes Sedai and their mageocratic intrigue, and that’s too many women. And the bonding of the Warders? Too kinky for the current culture.

If social media were extant in the 90s-00s, # WhereTheFuckIsMat would have been my tag every five chapters. People would have @‘d RJ with “Forgot Perrin existed again, huh?” at least once a week. Book wise: Character creep was real, Rand ate everyone in what should have been an ensemble story.

Ennui (she/they) @zetsubonna.bsky.social · 30/03/2026

So, like, if GRRM dies before he’s done, like RJ did, how will ASOIAF fans cope? I am old enough to have been contemporaneously reading WoT as it was released, and it was— hard to sustain interest. It’s not that the books weren’t engaging, but my faves would be gone for whole volumes.

IMIO, Amazon didn’t actually want WoT. They wanted to do GoT numbers, and assumed another doorstopper fantasy would get the same reaction. They got off to a solid start, I enjoyed S1. But doorstopper series(es) are interminable. Can’t finish b/c it refuses to end. Too many threads; the loom breaks.

I’ve decided it’s time to make my profiles match across my social media. New header!

Promotional photo of Anne Hathaway as Viola/Cesario in Twelfth Night. She is facing/being kissed by Julia White (Maria) on the left, who is holding a sword across Anne’s chest. The blade is being caught/held by Raúl Esparza (Orsino), who is leaning on Anne’s back and shoulder and looking lovesick with his eyes closed. His hand is bleeding. All three are in costume.

Three original characters from my 2020 D&D campaign replicating the Twelfth Night promo photo’s pose. On the left (as Maria) is Olivia, a light skinned blonde Aasimar with brown, eagle like wings, wearing a white high collared shirt and brown leather greaves and armor. Her hair is in complicated Nordic overlapping braids. Olivia’s expression is triumphant. In the middle is Julia, a dark skinned (Black) Summer Eladrin with long ears and natural 4c hair in a cloud-like style. Her hair glows like embers. She is wearing a pink dress and a red ribbon in her hair. Her expression is flustered as she leans in for Olivia’s kiss. On Julia’s back is Julius (as Orsino), a brown skinned (Black) tiefling with long ears, deer-like horns, copper hair in loose waves, and a deer-like tufted tail is visible behind him. His expression is passionate and somewhat tragic. Julius has a horizontal scar across the bridge of his nose and a vertical scar on the left side of his mouth. He is wearing a ruffled white shirt. His right hand is gripping the blade of Olivia’s rapier and bleeding.

Best thing about my friends is I can tell them at 9:30PM, “I love y’all. Get the fuck out of my house.” And they will laugh and leave.

I bought myself a red water bottle the size of a soda bottle and I’m going train myself to drink it first every time I want a Coke Zero to see if I can increase my water intake at home.

It was the darndest thing. After crying for two hours I realized that all of my Sims bars were in the red. I took a 30 minute shower and drank 36 oz of water and ate something and I turned back into a human person. You would think 10 years of drugs and therapy would have taught me this.

Ballpoints are mostly garbage, but occasionally I will stumble upon one that makes me pause. Usually around a $2.50/$3USD price point. The Uni Jetstream Lite Touch, for example.

One of the many appealing things is that brain twitch of “why does that say soebra” to “it says zebra actually” to “but zou (ぞう) means elephant…” and you get to go on that journey a thousand times in your own head and laugh about it like one of those window peeping Sickos.

The current point of controversy in the tight circle of people I discuss handwriting with is whether redesigning my lowercase Z to look less like a ZB/DN lowercase Y and more like a そ is clever or aesthetically offensive.

I’d be happy to keep looking with you! I hate that teachers can’t take the time to work one on one with students on things like that, and that parents can’t really take time to do it with their kids either. 🤔 Many non-Latin alphabets are written right to left. Maybe that’s a lead to explore!

As I've gotten deeper into fountain pen usage, I'm pulling from all four (Spencerian, Palmer, Zaner Bloser, and D'Nealian) and combining them with pen tricks I picked up learning Japanese to create a more unique style of my own that's more accommodating to 40+yo wrists that have been abused by 13/?

My (maternal) grandmother learned cursive in the Palmer method when she was in school, which is VERY different from ZB or DN, but strikes a really interesting juxtaposition between those more modern alphabets and its preceding style, the Spencerian, which is LOVELY and super ornate. 12/?
