2 chapters down in book 3 draft 3. If I’m diligent, I can get 3 more done over the weekend!

Zeta @zetakpierce.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

One chapter revised for draft 3 book 3. It was mostly line level adjustments. Have some structural changes planned for mid/late draft but starting off in a good spot!

Taking a break from tekken and playing cyberpunk 2077. finished a mission and left the building…only to immediately get jumped by a carful of hostiles. I call myself sneaking around the back to escape unnoticed and popped up around the corner!

I’m reaching the big reveal in fractured horizons (‼️) and now that I’m here, what needs to change in part 1 is a little clearer. I have a list of chapters that will be heavily revised/rewritten. Think im going to push forward with part 2 and tackle the early chapters in small chunks simultaneously.

020

Zeta @zetakpierce.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

Will be diving back into book 3 in about 2 weeks. Hoping to whip it into shape for my editor with this next draft!

Part of my revisions for fractured horizons is to remove a lot of details/info so that the plot twist isn’t so obvious. The hard part is, since I know what it is, it’s hard to judge when I’ve played my hand too soon or if I’ve got the right balance.

95k words and book 3 draft 2 is complete 🎉 Taking the next month off, but gonna poke away at Fractured Horizons and brainstorm my SFF epic during that time. Excited to come back to draft 3 with fresh eyes later this fall!

Zeta @zetakpierce.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

1 epilogue down. 2 more to go. 93.5k words so far. Should be able to finish by my self imposed deadline 🏃🏽‍♀️

010

Zeta @zetakpierce.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

Got 75% of the way through the final chapter only to realize I need to tweak the opening scene. Won’t take a lot of work but still I was so close 🙃

020

Zeta @zetakpierce.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

90k words so far. 1 more chapter and 3 epilogues left. Excited to take a break once I’m finished!

Zeta @zetakpierce.bsky.social · 25/07/2026

2 chapters and 3 epilogues left. Estimating 95k total words, which puts me in a good spot. Have some adulting to do today, but hoping I can sit down this evening, go offline and knock out 1-2 chapters (one drafted from scratch).

010

Zeta @zetakpierce.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

My win rate with Jun and Miary is a solid 50% meanwhile my asuka is sitting at 42% 😭 Jun is objectively stronger but I’m still not nearly as comfortable piloting Miary as Asuka, so idk if it’s the nerfs or if I’m trash (prolly both 😔)

Zeta @zetakpierce.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

Book 3 draft 2 is at 86k words. Already longer than draft 1 and only 4k away from my word count goal 🏃🏽‍♀️

I am in the final stretch of book 3 and the climax is giving me such a hard time even tho it’s usually the easiest for me to write. I’ve been imagining this since book 1. The words should be flying by now 😭 but I am at least making process. It’s just SUPER slow

Working on the finale for the final book in my trilogy. Trying to keep the fights engaging without being repetitive. Also, rethinking the intro chapters since I’m not sure if they’re paced fast enough. I don’t want readers to feel like it’s a slog to get to the ending #weeknightwriters

Wanted to get at least 3 chapters done this weekend but only revised 1. Still not 100% sure if it’s an improvement or not but it’s definitely changes ☠️ with that being said I’m at 70k words. Hoping to hit 90k for draft 2. The end is in sight, but the bulk of my notes pertain to this final stretch

Even tho the second half is where I need to put in the most work for book 3, plot wise, it’s been all gas no breaks. None of the cast has had a single moment of rest 😭 Hope my editor/betas feel the same when I’m finally ready for feedback!

I’m about about the halfway mark for book 3 draft 2. The latter half is where I think things need to be fleshed out but it so far in the revision process, I think I was cooking in the first half. Hoping to finish by end of July and take a breather before jumping into draft 3.
