its also kinda made worse by the fact that I go for certain habitual curves and shapes when drawing any kind of recurring part, and that immediately messes with the perspective. optimally I should reinvision these "signatures" from scratch (or atleast try to break up the circle of usual ones I use)

another formulation of things I observed: the longer I sketch and redraw on something, the harder it gets to intuitively remember the visual perspective of my depiction. This creates "fractures" that are hard to reconcile in post, even if I am aware that this is happening.

Finalized the browser script to filter (short) text-posts from the usual feeds. Both of the popular browser extensions should be able to run this. Have tested it for a while and almost forgot I am running it, its just buttery smooth and I can focus on browsing art posts.

I guess completing lines also gives you the opportunity to re-experience your own work beyond the conceptual stage. I never really get that because I get so overwhelmed with the different aspects of everything so I wanna cap things off, before it all gets too convoluted.

I often am so unsure about what I draw, I leave lines in this "instructive" stage, where I just expect the viewer to create the image themselves by autocompleting lines in their head. But now I realize theres a reason why people make sure to get rid of any gaps or little artifacts.

Now that I think about it, lineart is kind of like hypnosis. You want to create a smooth buzzing feeling in the brain of the viewer so they feel comfortable just following the lines and shapes go in and out of each other, nothing to interrupt the patterns in a way that would take you out of it.

Recently looked up who drew the version of Harley Quinn I remember from 90s TV growing up and then some of his adult artbooks. Huge amounts of talent for depicting eyes and female bodies. I was hoping to see a focus on playful get-ups and other non-vanilla themes, but no such luck. 💔

I think I figured out a good portion about what makes a drawing feel concise and how to go about getting a doodle to focus down form wise. It's what I want for a solid basis to create pictures that have a poster-esque quality, as in, they frame well at every scale, like stickers. 🖼️

I think that soft fuzzy texture on the plastic is "flocking". As far as I understand, you can diy that with any solid object (clay figure, 3d print?).
