I wouldn't be where I am today without FA. I didn't have any true friends before I opened my account on there back in 2017. My entire online presence on here, Discord, Telegram, and my defunct Twitter, wouldn't exist without that first friend group I met on FA. We HAVE to save it.

I just subscribed to FA+ and will be keeping it for the foreseeable future. FurAffinity is one of the few anti-AI, Artist first galleries left on the internet with real traction. It's been my home for my art for over a decade and I refuse to let it die.

FA is basically the last actual art site in existence and a cornerstone of furry culture at this point. I've been a user on the site for over 15 years, it's where I met my best friends and my husband. I imagine a lot of us are in that boat. The least we can do is throw them a few bucks a month.

While I’ll always advocate running your own website, at the same time part of building a better community means contributing back to it in ways that help sustain it and grow. FA is - no joke - *critical infrastructure* for the furry community as a whole, and we do a shit job recognizing that.

Running a website isn't cheap. Running a large website, especially so. While there are legitimate criticisms about how FurAffinity is coded and operated, there's no getting around it being pricey to provide a service at their scale and in-house ads can't cover the cost. You don't have to agree with every direction FA has taken. But losing Fur Affinity would legitimately be one of the most catastrophic things that could happen to the furry fandom. Literal decades of art, including much that can't be found anywhere else, gone. Get FA+ if you can.

FA regardless of your personal feelings, is the core of the fandom and losing it would mean YEARS AND YEARS of art, messages, pages, and memorials for people that have passed, would be gone. We CANNOT allow ourselves to rely simply on sites like bsky, twitter, insta, etc. etc. to be our defaults.

Tbh the hardest part of being an artist isn't developing the technical skills. You can learn those surprisingly fast. It's managing moods and inspiration. Learning to channel your creativity in a focused and disciplined way is a constant challenge.
