trying to read some Bruce Sterling given he's the one major "classic" cyberpunk author I've never read on his own. I understand the genre fundamentally dates itself but also I do feel like it's hubris to decide the peak of physical media in 40 years is still laserdisc.

I'm earnestly curious if the octopus out of explicit context has been used as a dog whistle before this point? It's a pretty common trope from the first half of the 20th century for conspiracy in general (that the Nazis did use fwiw), the ADL doesn't even have it listed on their hate symbols list.

It's probably silly to get one of these new but it's still really funny that they've updated the branding and literally nothing else despite this being unchanged for about 20 years.

This is the box for the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, a flightstick controller that is about 20 years old exactly. The packaging is meant to resemble Logitech's current peripheral branding despite the product itself being basically unchanged.
