Question of the blue but, what is medicine like in Lament? How available is treatment (like courtly surgeons, clerical physicians, barber surgeons, ect)? How prevalent is lay medicine? And to what extent does magic play in healing?

In the 2010 film, Robin Hood, which is set just after the third crusade, around 1200 ad, there are several characters who wear armor that wouldn't exist until the early 1400's. It would be like seeing a modern soldier at the battle of Waterloo.

I'm still kinda mourning the fact that almost every educational tv channel has devolved into a cesspool of brain rotting filth. Every time I see a commercial for something on TLC I get this pang of profound sadness for what's been lost to greed and misanthropy.

We will simply have to draw more nuns with even bigger boobs, in sillier situations. This is the way.

Growth and Decay I saw a sapling growing from the stumps of a decaying tree while walking my huskies and imagined the ghost of the dead tree watching over its successor. 1/2 #art #painting #tree

"...T'was a lesson learnt' that I won't soon forget, the night after the fray, they, the ragged lot, shambled to their feet and lumbered 'cross the field, and out of sight. The lights in their eyes had dimmed, unlike those 'magic' wicks the poor fools bought from that damned charlatan peddler."

Can't gloop bc early European firearms was a fixation of mine for a few years (as an off-shoot of a larger fixation on late medieval/renaissance arms and armor, which itself was an off-shoot of a lifelong fascination with medieval history).😔

Why not a user powered tag system? Creators make tags for their videos, the tags go into a database that can be searched by viewers who can then whitelist tags they're interested in and then curate from there, removing a lot of guess work and saving folks a lot of time and aspirin.

Zen @zenwithapen.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

Oh wait, that's right, it's just as ineffective as their algorithm and feeds right back in to their guessing game based curation that relies on negative feedback.

Zen @zenwithapen.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

Here's a novel idea, why not instead of latching on to a random keyword and festooning our feed with inane and half-baked suggestions, then relying on negative feed back to curate; just ASK us what we want to see? Cut out the guessing game! Alphabet has an LLM why not put it to use there?

I just really need Youtube to have a far more responsive algo. We shouldn't have to resort to a binary block/pass to nudge it in SOME direction, because the 'Not Interested' button does next to nothing. We should not have to carefully curate a temperamental feed!

Reliquary pilgrim could be switched out for another class, but it feels right to have because of the noble in the party.

Zen @zenwithapen.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

Design wise, the Gravewalker is my favorite in this lineup. Also, Luminary, Reliquary Pilgrim, Bell Cleric, Flagellant, and Gravewalker would go crazy as an adventuring party.

Image of overgrown stairs leading up to a torii gate flanked on both sides by very dense forest vegetation, light filters through the canopy overhead. Through the gate is an ominous and unnatural darkness.

So... are we going to be renaming Microsoft Build to Microsoft Prompt? or perhaps Microsoft Agentic? The word 'build' evokes some level of manual involvement, which seems far outside their current trajectory.

The perfect time of day! I don't have many hills or mountains overlooking towns or cities where I live, so whenever I travel to a place like this I make sure to find a spot like this and watch the sunset.
