I guess one benefit of AI is that I no longer have imposter syndrome. Seeing people at my work becoming hopelessly dependent on it while I'm carrying on, unimpeded, with just a bag of meat and water in my skull is a big confidence boost x3

There's a nice time bomb cooking at work. One of the wannabe tech bros is has outsourced some data analysis to Claude. It vomited out an unnecessarily complicated front end with the actual analysis logic embedded into the UI. He has been told by QA that this will need to be formally code reviewed ->

I haven't done a hot take in a while, so here's one :V. MPC is considerably better than VLC for video playback. I know Windows has been nerfing VLC recently, but even before that (and on Linux) I've found it slow, clunky, lacking in features, and it's really bad at deinterlacing.

Any Halo game. Maybe you needed to be there in the early days of online console multiplayer, but I found the games extremely tedious and repetitive. I especially don't like the plastic bullet sponge feeling of the games; the complete opposite of your Quakes, Unreals, and Half Lifes.

The whole "how are indie devs supposed to make games without the assistance of slopbots" argument mystifies me. 1) Lots of people managed before, so how did they do it? 2) Having limited resources often stimulates creative solutions. 3) Learning crafts or working with craftspeople expands the mind.
