Ringo and Nana are Splatoon original characters that belong to No_11_333 [Twitter]. Seven months ago, I drew Nana since I loved the design and personality the character conveyed. Ringo was supposed to make an appearance alongside her, but unfortunately, I didn't have the time to draw them. After so long, I'm glad I finally drew the two together.
Sort of. If you look closely, I drew Ringo much bigger than Nana, and there is a reason behind it. The original idea was having Nana daydream about Ringo, but it didn't really work out too well. After many attempts trying to convey what I had in mind, I sadly gave up and rolled with what I had. ![8-Bit, Retro, evil AnemoneNo1. I don't know.
It's a bit of a story on how I ended with this. After finishing my previous art work, I felt "free" to draw whatever I wanted — I had no idea what to draw though.
It's been a while since I last drew AnemoneNo1, so that's the option I took. However, I wanted to take a different approach — depending on the angle you look at it from, the hair has some unique shots.
Using Google to search up some funny expressions from a favorite show of mine, I chose one that displayed a character with a annoyed mood. "This would fit so well if I was drawing 8-Bit."
A few hours later, I finished the rough sketch — it was originally meant to be a clean sketch that I wanted to upload on my alt account, but I liked it enough to give it an attempt to color. It was here that I decided to look up Retro from the Splatoon manga to grab their color palette (I also found out about the eyebrow fact shortly after).
Since I am very terrible at shading, I didn't have high expectations of it looking good at the end. I'm glad I stuck with that mindset — it resulted in less frustration, yet I still was gaining experience for future colored drawings. I enjoyed coloring this (even if the manatee was a bit of a pain).

Well, since their name ended with No1, it felt like it made sense it would be November 1st.
I would love to present that every year, on this day, to be known as AnemoneNo1 Day. I wish I had more time to do more for this occasion, but I'll save it for next year, along with the other AnemoneNo1's :]

▪︎ Nana is a Splatoon original character that belongs to No_11_333 [Twitter]. When I found their account through a drawing of 8-Bit, I grew to love their art very much. Once I saw their Splatoon original characters, they looked so adorable that I wanted to draw them.
Ringo, another character from the same artist, was supposed to be here too, but since I'm drawing original characters from mutuals and friends for a bit, I want to give theirs a chance first. ▪︎ Around late March this year, I posted some concept art of how I would go about in drawing something chibi-like, and attempted to color it — unfortunately, I didn't have the motivation to continue, resulting in me dropping it.
Fast forward 4 months later, after finishing a birthday drawing for a cool artist and friend, I came across the file again. I was hesitant at first, but I loved the base sketch so much, that I decided to pick up and continue where I left off.
Truly an experience — I'm not the best with colors at all, but for what it is, I'm happy how this turned out.
