✨Bog is Beautiful✨ I recently had the chance to visit a wonderful bog, way farther south than it had any business being (in NE Ohio,USA) and it was much greener (and less haunted) than I expected! Sphagnum Moss (pictured below) is a wonderful wet mat that contributes to peat production.
Bog Wraith, a Magic card featuring a ghostly figure in a dismal dark bogA picture of a bog - the ferns are matted and low against the ground, the sky is blue peaking behind a scatter of white clouds.A bog, this time you can see the wet moist floor and a few less ferns covering the ground.Sphagnum Moss! An incredible wet green carpet of 4-8 inch long plants that end in a wet bulb. These continue to grow while their dead ends eventually break down into peat. Ask the Scots about that.

War/Superstition still gets stuck in my head from time to time. Great tracks in that game!

Sometimes plants fight back! The Bull-horn Acacia (Vachellia Cornigera) sprouts hollow thorns and sticky-sweet nectar glands to attract stinging ants to live inside, protecting the tree from herbivores. #MTG

Is there a story on Pancoast’s bird or just a fun detail?

Everyone knows bamboo grows incredibly quickly - up to 3 feet per day! - but did you know duckweed (Lemna minor) can under ideal conditions DOUBLE in size overnight?
The Magic card Rampant Growth - the art shows green vegetation spreading like ocean waves across a desert landscapeDuckweed, thousands upon thousands of tiny clover-like plants covering a pond in a thick mat of green.
