Love me a good indie horror flick, but ultimately, this was more of a miss - and even the cast, camera crew, composer, and set designers, couldn't save this. It wasn't BAD, just disappointing, given the hype. Waiting around for 1.5 hours for no payoff, we might as well have watched an infomercial

However, again, the set designers absolutely knocked this outta the park! Every single part of the set oozed of either pure 90s, or just... "Wrong". Seriously, the room angles and ceilings were possibly more disturbing than anything else.

As horror aficionados, there was no real sense of... Anything. Other than waiting. No jump scares, only a mild sense of dread and disbelief. Even the BBEG was essentially "depowered" once it was revealed.

Seriously, it was a visual delight! Framing, lighting, great! Absolutely *adored* the homage to the "Saturn Eating His Children" homage shot. Overall, however, we were left with the unsettling feeling of, "ok, waiting for this movie to get actually interesting", all the way to the credits.

Finally had a chance to watch BACKROOMS, last night. Casting, acting, set design was great! Writing, however, was disappointing. So many threads started, evolved, then left awkwardly dangling. Story tried to be too many things at once. 1/x potential minor spoilers below

To this day, I still miss my Mordesh medic and Grannok engineer. There was a team that spent quite a while attempting to privately resurrect it, but hit a massive brick wall. Essentially, all gameplay related info was calculated server-side, and since no one publicly has that info... 🤷

This beauty, is the one MMO I wholly wish would come back. I put in an unholy amount of time into it, including doing the (wildly buggy) raids. It oozed style, legit fun combat, never-seen mechanics (true zero grav), the best housing editor, and fun builds. All this, as an adult lol

Tbh I don't see them shuttering Retail anytime in the foreseeable future. Despite it teetering under the weight of 20+ years of xpacs (that no longer make a cohesive story),there's still too much $ to be made + playerbase would riot. I see: Retail = "new direction" wowf = soft remaster

Speaking as someone who has enjoyed Dr Who from childhood, and became increasingly disenfranchised with it... The major problem with later seasons was always its budget (far too high), and an expectation of it being a "franchise", rather than a fun story telling vehicle.

As someone who's done CS for nearly 20 years, this is solid. In addition, an incredibly powerful tool in a CSR/M's repertoire is the simple fact that most ppl are not upset at you, personally. Shifting towards a more compassionate language can do wonders for both/all ppl involved.

Oh, look at those birds of a similar feather flock together. 😐 In Canadian law, house arrest can have a conditional, allowing for work/school/religious activities. These usually have strict reqs, but given she lives in Alberta, and was invited to USA Territory, I'm sure it was considered "work"

My partner and I are storm "enthusiasts", & were watching some radar streamers & chasers that were following the storms in Wis and Illinois last night. There were a total of 3 confirmed tornadoes that were NOT officially alerted by US NWS. 2 had delayed confirmations. Budget cuts are NOT prudent!

This has been repeated so many times - to the point that certain MMOs will make it so - that this is now the default mindset for a lotta players - both old and new. Enjoying the levelling up and world exploration has now seemingly become a niche playstyle

Like the fact the assets for those games looked the way they did, because they were designed to take into consideration low res/colour screens. Attempting to replicate those assets/techniques and throw them onto modern screens leaves a pixelated mess
