We'd been following someone's tracks thru the snow until I started getting a bit uneasy (no signal way up in them there hills!) So that lovely pattern was us turning around. Didn't have to worry about other traffic much. But perhaps the snow got a bit deep at the edges. Made for a cool overheadshot.

My folks sent me pictures of that one when the tree fell on the old garage... Luckily it missed the house. I had to drive an hour up in the hills to find snow back then...

I remember when I first moved to California... where you had the option to "visit" snow, but didn't have to deal with it the rest of the time. These days we may get a small dusting to wake up to on a very rare occasion. Gone before you even think of shoveling.

Then again... perhaps a half hour's drive up into the hills... it's there to play in!

My (our) encounter was quite some time ago and I don't clearly remember any details. Seems that for some reason there wasn't a chance to capture any pics, but if there was, they didn't turn out well. I can picture you scurrying after this one. I DO have a memory of how fast they move! 😲

Stumbled across this unique view of the marine layer imitating waves... #TidesOutTuesday #EastCoastKin #ECK #ColorADay #BlueTue

Seems like there's hardly ever a dull moment along the Pacific coast.
I caught this moment of the tide leaving remnants of wave action on the sandy beach where the waves withdraw back to sea. Fog drifts down toward the ocean along the river valley also headed toward the sea. I'd never seen the unique marine layer mimicking wave action out near the horizon quite like this before.

I fell in love with this phenomenon of hills with trees popping out of the fog way back when I first visited Big Sur, well over 50 years ago.... it makes me stop in my tracks for a photo whenever I've come across it.

Thanks, Alina. It's one of my favorites as well! I'm doing well! Wishing that progress on my project to organize my pictures and the house since our last move has been going a LOT slower than I might have wished, but it'll feel good once I get things under control... at least a bit. 🤞
