That I completely understand! Tbh I don't see myself getting heavily committed to 2 MMOs simultaneously anymore, never again 😂 I do think though there's merit to play XI during XIV downtimes, going back and forth as content droughts and updates come and go.

Oh I've missed that loop, what was the cause of this instability in the end? Glad for you in any case!

Have you heard of the OTHER critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XI? With a new free trial which you can play up to level 75 for free, and for the first time... with *no restrictions on playtime*!! #ffxi

Yeah we have more for the specifically romantic oriented relationships, like the very delicate "like ass and shirt" (comme cul et chemise). Romantic I said! 😂

I can't think of a direct equivalent in French, but we've got different sayings for the same concept, especially: "être comme les deux doigts de la main" (being like two fingers from the hand) 😀

Careful, you forgot a little bit of remaining useful content under all that advertising

Yay! New neighbors! Also I guess we'll now also benefit from the expanded region thing comes Evercold!

I transferred with all the furniture and a saved layout from RMP! I just need to put the effort to grind a few million to buy a lot again now 😅

Thank you! I think my priority would go to buy a house and rebuild what I had, but I'm short on gil right now 😂

The average player has no idea of the difference between behavior trees, procedural generation and LLMs; all of which ending up as "AI" in their mind. This makes impossible to have reasonable conversations about anything and I hate it.

Starting from now on, you can find this elezen on the Aether, NA datacenter! Bear with me, time zones and the language barrier won't make this easy, but I am willing to reach out to all of you. See you there!

It's almost impossible to pick just 9 games out of the hundreds, perhaps thousands I've played in decades. But I guess that explains the back pain.

That's some excellent taste tbh. Half of these were never released in Europe at their time, I wish they could have defined me 😂

Also ideas and fun concepts eventually get stale. Just realized the original post is about Halo and Call of Duty; well *of course* they've run out of ideas after the 17th game in 20 years

Yeah, my childhood was fine overall and it's still a silly argument. There's nothing to magically prevent a game series to decline. Teams get replaced, studios change, new people can sometimes make objectively bad decisions and release worse games than what came before.

Not later than today, I had a wipe in a variant dungeon in XIV. I hadn't realized we didn't have a tank and didn't adapt quick enough. The group shrugged and said, "no worries, it happens". Now try having such a calm, civil wipe on any non-endgame content in WoW.

It's a fun moment if anything, people are nice and we all get to know each other. It's excruciantigly long though... still ongoing... 🤣

Exactly. If assets weren't stolen but recreated "close enough", and the original code wasn't reused but vibecoded, then no trademarks or copyrights were infringed, and from a legal standpoint there's nothing you could do.

Zeenat Dagrant ☕ @zeenatdagrant.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Yup, and Steam isn't even the worst platform for this. Any mildly successful indie game that's "simple" enough to replicate will have 5 AI-slop clones on Roblox the next week, several of which beating the original game numbers.

Roblox clones of Meccha Chameleon have more players than the original Steam sensation after just 3 weeks

The free copies are seeing over 200,000 active users still
