I feel like I always have a different idea for the colors/lighting at the beginning. Things were starting to look muddy so I went with more contrast. Then cause of my color changes, I thought a blue bg would look weird. Thankfully, digital lets me waste all the time I want switching colors.

I just enjoy drawing nature vs. architecture at the end of the day. This took a few days to draw the still versus my previous one. At the beginning I couldn't get roses out of my mind, so some of the flowers may look weird. I tried fixing them later when I got the right image in mind.

Only recently found out you can switch frames within a tag/loop in aseprite. Used to draw in a new file and transfer the layers/sprites to the main one to not mess up the workflow. Seriously would have saved so much time if I looked this up before, just a bruh moment.

Originally I had in mind a waterfall for this, but changed my mind during the blocking phase. There was also another foreground tree layer, but again changed my mind. Wanted to go with an heavier shadow drawing. While it is dark, I could have gone with darker shadows to be honest.

As for the animation, it only has 16 frames to it. Certain parts are only 8 and then repeated. The frames with the same color on their layer are duplicates. The foreground usually layers have duplicates to give it a "slower" animation in the gif.

The still part of the image was pretty quick to get down at only 320x480px. Most of the canvas isn't detailed anyways which contributes to how fast I drew it.

Another quick drawing, 480x160 this time. It's nothing special drawing wise, but it's satisfying to just do. Pretty much just to keep myself busy. I'd be playing another five thousand hours of salmon run otherwise.

I finished this in 2 days versus 3 weeks for my last one. Major difference being the size, 420x180 vs 640x1280px! Large canvas like that isn't worth it tbh. Do it for fun, but if it's a request, hopefully you're being paid well. Overall less details also, resulting in a quick drawing.

Forgot to scale down the canvas at the beginning and just kept going. Seeing how long it took to finish, it wasn't worth it imo. Hit a point where I checked out and just forced myself to finish. A lot of details ended up unrefined. Process also doesn't capture all my indecisive color changes.

Process. It's just a simple fireplace scene I made to use as a background. I think these along with nature scenes are my most enjoyable and time passing kind of work. Even if it seems like they're just repeating the same beats, I'm still having fun drawing them.

This was drawn from ref of the Zhan Garden. And here's the process. Decided to just go with whatever palette happened to get put together in 64 colors; used 30 of the colors. Just wanted to draw with what was thrown at me.

Occasionally you see random color fills/gradients in my processes. It's because I keep hitting the wrong keybinds on accident. 🙂 There were a few "never mind" moments in this drawing though. Sometimes things just don't look good after you get another look.

I got distracted and ended up drawing the cat and dog first. It ended up taking a bit longer than it should have because I wanted those two. Other than that, just the process drawing of a typical plain room.
