Seokjin’s eyes return to Jungkook, who glares at him, a deadpan look on his face as he sighs and places his hands on his hips.
‟What?” Seokjin signs.
Jungkook rolls his eyes. ‟At least with your implants you can pretend you’re not listening to me without making it so obvious.” Jungkook then makes a dumbfounded face, looking off into the distance dramatically with his jaw held open dumbly.
Seokjin leans closer to him to shove his shoulder. ‟Shut up. I did not look like that.”
The look Jungkook gives him clearly conveys that he did, in fact, look exactly like that.
Seokjin leans back in his chair, feeling the rumbles of a groan escape past his throat as he does.
‟When will get there?”
The excitement in Jungkook’s eyes is back. ‟Five days! Can you believe it?”
Seokjin’s throat vibrates around a hum. Five days, huh? Five days and they might finally have found a home.

Taehyung blinks at him slowly, just letting Jungkook stare at him and staring right back.
There's something so precious about it. About that look. A mix of wonder and awe.
It makes Taehyung feel cherished, seen properly, maybe for the first time.
The need to get closer is so strong he's not even sure it's his anymore. The need to let Jungkook explore every pore, every scar, every vein below his skin.
He is locked in place by those eyes, pulled in by an invisible chain around his neck. One he doesn't ever wish to break free from.

He shuffles closer, just a smidge, gaze following the line of Jungkook's throat, then stopping at the mole below his lips before it finally returns to his eyes.
Oh, those eyes.
What an honour it is for them to be on him like this.
He could drown in them.

It burns.

Burns like a branding, straight through his heart, to his soul.
Burns so much that he has to look away, a thrill running up his spine, heating up the flesh of his cheeks, igniting his body into tiny prickles.

A nervous giggle falls from his lips.
He flattens a crease of the bedsheets in between their faces that was never there to begin with.

rereading the mafia arranged marriage AU RP I did with @vvinterrtae.bsky.social and SKKSSK they're such fucking messes. this is their first meeting after they both leave mid arrangements to go to the bathroom.

When Yoongi comes back, Seokjin just gives him a thumbs up that Yoongi probably doesn't even see as he rinses his mouth.

At least his soon-to-be groom is in as terrible of a shape as he is. He's not sure if it's nerves or the clear hangover he was nursing.

When Yoongi finally looks up, looking embarrassed, Seokjin relaxes, his own embarrassment creeping up.

Okay, well, this guy clearly doesn't want to be here either. He's probably not the one that would kill me if someone wanted to.

"Damn, was the food that bad?" he jokes, voice a little flat from the sudden post-panic energy crash.

Yoongi lets out a snort.

“I wish it was just the food.” He says.

Yoongi then takes some water in has hands and splashes his face.

God, I’m such a mess.

When Yoongi looks back up, he’s making eye contact with Seokjin in the mirror.

“This is crazy, right?” Yoongi says after a moment of awkward silence.

"Which part?" Seokjin asks with an awkward laugh. "You puking your guts out while I have a panic attack or an arranged marriage in hopes the families stop killing each other?"

It's nice to see this Yoongi guy finds this entire thing as insane as he does.

Yoongi shrugs.

It’s two children.
The one on the left can’t be more than seven. There’s dirt and blood on their cheek and their bottom lip is clearly busted. The hood over their head does a pitiful job at covering the grubby black hair falling over their face. They’re clutching the older child next to them like their life depends on it —and maybe it does. Tremors wrack their frail little body as they stare at Jungkook. Despite the shaking, their eyes are locked onto him, holding his gaze, like a wounded dog trying to appear bigger in the face of a ravenous wolf. Jungkook wishes he could make himself smaller for them.
The other kid is older —probably around twelve.
They’re much more fierce in stature, pulling the younger child closer to them in a bruising grip. Jungkook can’t see much from the darkness but something about the shape of the child’s left leg looks… wrong. Twisted, mangled in a way that has Jungkook’s stomach churning. When he looks at their face, the world around them comes to a stop.
Bruises. All over their face. Their right eye swollen shut, puss and blood escaping from the slit of their eyelid. It makes Jungkook want to throw up.
Despite their state, they bare bloody teeth at Jungkook, a knife tightly clutched in their hand. This child doesn’t shake. Still as a rock, refusing to be a prey. The look in their eye though, is the thing that shakes Jungkook to his core.
There’s an emptiness there that Jungkook never expected on such a little face. Where should be innocence and curiosity, he sees a veil of nothingness concealing fear and pain. A clash between fighting on or giving up.
Haunted.
That’s what they look like.
Haunted from horrors Jungkook doesn’t even dare to imagine.

gotta share a snippet of the astronaut x alien Yoonjin AU I'm working on bc I'm cackling imagining SJ and TH arguing on what a whale is bc it SURE AS HELL DOESN'T LOOK LIKE THIS! (unfortunately SJ is one of the last generations born on Earth before shit went to hell so no whales for anyone sad)

So, here they are. On their way to the most Earth-like planet they have found so far, planet 131206, nickamed Borarae by Taehyung. The name is a mashup between “purple” and “whale”. Taehyung decided on this name due to the purple tint of 131206’s oceans, and the way the biggest one was shaped like a whale. At least according to him.
What “whales” Taehyung had seen in the database, Seokjin isn’t sure, but it must have been a different animal than the one Seokjin learned about growing up, that’s for sure.
Or maybe he’s the one who’s misremembering, who knows.

He leans back in his seat, taking in the pure silence around him as he frowns. When was it? Ten, fifteen years ago? When he got to explore that one planet? Gosh, what was it called—
Seokjin jolts as a firm hand grasps his shoulder. He’s sure he yelps as he does, though he is unsure of how loud he’s being.
He swivels around in his chair, being brought face to face with Jungkook, who looks a little apologetic.
Jungkook’s eyes drift away from his eyes and to the side of his head. When he looks back at him, Jungkook starts signing:
‟You good, hyung?”
Seokjin chances a glance towards his desk where the processors and transmitters of his cochlear implants lay innocently.
When he turns back to Jungkook, it’s with a sigh.

The gesture is crude enough for Seokjin to understand, and it makes him bark out a laugh despite his cheeks burning.
“Orgasm?” he signs back. Fuck it, why not teach the only alien he’s ever met the word ‘orgasm’, why not? “It’s okay. If it happens, it happens.”
“I don’t want it to happen.”
“Then you tell me when things are too much and we’ll ground you. Take deep breaths, get your body less agitated. Or we’ll take a break. Does that work?”
Yoongi seems to hesitate for a second before sighing and finally nodding.
