Hurricane Polo may bring heavy rain, flooding, and other impacts to parts of Mexico, with tropical moisture increasing flood potential across portions of the U.S. Southwest. Facilities should monitor NHC and NWS forecasts, review flood risks, and prepare for possible disruptions.

ZAA recently hosted a webinar featuring ZDR3 staff. Watch & learn about the types of support ZDR3 provides; how to request assistance; how support is activated; and how coordinated response is delivered when it matters most. youtube.pulse.ly/n5y8h2zjdl
An informational graphic with the headline "Watch the recorded webinar: Answering the Call: How ZDR3 Activates Assistance & Provides Support in Critical Moments."

Below the text, a photograph shows a recovery crew working in a dense, wooded area. In the foreground, two women with their backs turned stand watching. One wears a bright yellow safety vest, and the other wears a black shirt with a red ZDR3 logo on the back. Further back, three men stand near an orange Kubota tractor; one wears a white hard hat. Thick vegetation, palm fronds, and tall pine trees surround the crew.

At the bottom of the graphic are two logos on a white background: on the left is the red circular ZDR3 (Zoo Disaster Response, Rescue, Recovery) logo; in the center is the text "We are Stronger Together"; on the right is the green logo for the Zoological Association of America (ZAA).

ZDR3 staff monitors weather throughout the U.S. and its territories 24/7, and stays in contact with ZDR3 Network response teams to ensure we know which teams and resources we can quickly deploy when we receive a request for assistance. Here’s the CSU forecast: tropical.colostate.edu/forecasting....
Over an image of a wind-blown beach it says: “2026 Hurricane Season Update/Colorado State University hurricane researchers predict a high likelihood of a strong super El Niño this season. Which means: The potential for Atlantic hurricanes remains lower than normal. The potential for Pacific hurricanes remains higher than normal.
They also point out: ‘It takes only one storm near you to make this an active season for you.’
We are Stronger Together” The ZDR3 logo is in the upper right corner.

Outdoor workers are at risk of serious heat-induced conditions like heat exhaustion, dehydration, heatstroke, & even death. In the heat, when we work hard, we must also work smart. We are Stronger Together #zoo #aquarium #sanctuary #wildlife #disasterresponse #wearestrongertogether
Be careful out there! Signs of heat exhaustion include dizziness, thirst, heavy sweating, nausea, and weakness. Act fast: move to a cooler area, loosen clothing, seek medical help if symptoms don’t improve. Heat exhaustion can lead to heat stroke. Signs of heat stroke include confusion, dizziness, become unconscious. Act fast: CALL 911, move person to cooler area, loosen clothing and remove extra layers, cool with water or ice. Heat stroke can cause death or permanent disability if emergency treatment is not given. Stay cool, stay hydrated, stay informed! We are stronger together.
