I marathoned it the first day it was posted. I only meant to watch the first episode, but it hooked me! As a Marine myself (01-05), I really wanted to see how accurate it was. It was damn close! I can't say enough about Boots! It is a great story and hilariously depressing in the best ways!

I was the night security for most of the movie! Pretty much everything not filmed in the mansion. My claim to fame is that I peed next to every set in that movie. And yes, I peed off the tower that they burned down. That was a GREAT night! We had marshmallows. Still haven't watched the movie...

I agree that this was a stupid publicity stunt that was needlessly reckless, but the Marine in me wishes to point out that it was a navy vessel firing the shots, and they did downgrade from missiles to howitzer rounds. Much like the justified outrage happening, the Marine base was just a target.
