A Life in Your Shape

Summary:

“What will Violet think when she grows up?” Silco asked, “When she spends her life with an Enforcer’s boot on her neck and learns you could have stopped it but didn’t because you were afraid?”

“You don’t understand.” Vander said.

“What happens-” Silco’s upper lip curled into a vicious sneer, “-when she finds out what a coward you are?”

Illustration of young Silco and Vander from Arcane series. Pre-canon, young Silco lying on Vander's lap, smoking a cigarette and looking up at Vander who is holding a lighter in his hand with the flame out. They both have cigarettes in their mouths. The colours are blue and yellow.

Comic with characters from the Netflix show Arcane.
First panel: A lot of people dance under purple and pink artificial lights. At the center of it we see Young Silco being approached by a stranger, clearly asking him to dance together.
Second panel: Silco and the stranger dance together. Silco is smiling, following the music, grinding against the guy while the other holding his hips against himself.
Third panel: Young Vander is sitting at the bar, holding an empty glass, looking drunk, angry, and jealous.
Fourth panel: Close up of Vander's eyes, looking even angrier.
Fifth panel: The hand of another stranger touches Vander's leg, saying "Hey, big guy..."

A scene in the 'Last Drop'. The light is low and it's closing time. Vander is behind the bar, cleaning the countertop with a rag and looking ahead in surprise at Silco, who is carrying a young Viktor into the bar. We see Silco from behind.

A blöack and white illustration of Vander and Silco in a tight hug. Silco is crying a singular tear. They are in the office of the 'Last Drop', behind them is the sofa with a sleeping young Viktor resting fretfully on it.

Title: angels of a better future
Author: yuzudelamer
Summary:
1925, Berlin. The city’s underbelly beckons, particularly to a young man named Vander, unsure of almost everything but his own queer desires. A lovely figure catches his eye, and Silco finds an eager new client. Though the grim shadow of National Socialism has not yet taken hold of the city, rumors abound and people worry. For better and worse, Silco and Vander are not the sort to sit idly by.

Happy #ZaundadsBigBang2025 !! Vander and Silco do NOT get along... what happens when they're forced to parent two grieving girls? Chapter 1 up now, updating every day this week! archiveofourown.org/works/71570636

Screenshot of the title and summary for my fic "Nothing you can do... stop me loving you"

Text reads:
"I know I begged you to try things out with him," Felicia says, quiet. "I really did think you'd do well together. I thought you'd fall for each other. That we'd be this perfect constellation, just us four, growing old together." She shrugs, following his gaze over to Silco, who is smiling up at Powder, a tiny, sweet thing that Vander has only ever seen directed at Felicia and the girls. It makes his stomach flip sometimes, when he catches it out of the corner of his eye.

"Sorry it didn't work like that, Fel."

OR

Silco and Vander have a contentious relationship. They won't admit (out loud) to the spark of attraction between them, and have sworn each other off after one disastrous date. 15 years later, they still can't get along for anything in the world, not even their best friends' growing family.

When Felicia and Connol unexpectedly pass and leave Violet and Powder in their care, Silco and Vander have to decide if they can put their differences to the side and give their new charges a safe and happy home. They find out along the way exactly why Felicia and Connol tried so hard to get them together all those years ago.

Happy #ZaundadsBigBang2025! I am elated to finally be able to bring you my submission for this event, loosely inspired by Oceans 11. I was also lucky enough to have art created by @seadeepspace.bsky.social to accompany it. The first two chapters are available now, and the final two come tomorrow.

Screenshot of AO3 work Love's Fool and Folly by chzva. Summary reads:
For years Vander and Felicia had a tumultuous on-again off-again relationship, with Silco picking up the pieces when things inevitably fell apart. When Vander gets unexpectedly released from Stillwater five years after being arrested during a heist gone wrong, Silco hopes that after so much time apart, Vander has finally come to his senses and realised that the thing he wants is right in front of him. But things get complicated when hours after being released, Vander tells Silco about a plan for a new heist that's high risk and has an extremely tight timeline. Over the course of the heist, Silco realises that Vander’s motivation for the job isn’t exactly what he told the team, and makes it clear that if Vander’s real motivations are tied to Felicia, after this he’s out. Vander, unprepared to lose his closest friend and collaborator, has to make a hard decision about what it is he really wants and what he’s prepared to lose.
