A cardgame gimmick not used enough is cards being treated as other cards (even during deck construction) and thus limiting your useage of them. In some cases it's done in an annoying and bullshit way that ISN'T fun, but when it works... it's fun #TCG #Cardgames

So in MTG, a token is considered a card with 0 mana cost. But a flipped/transformed card is not applicable for any sort of mana cost related effects. Visually, neither has a mana cost printed on the card. So why are they treated so drastically differently? #MTG #MagicTheGathering
