We need repeatedly radical cashectomies until gini index is 0.35 (or lower).

Reform ideas? How does USA compare to other nations; can we borrow some ideas? What systemic changes might reduce injustice? Bring in some notions from civil law? Fully fund public defenders? Randomly assign counsel to both plaintiff and defense?

Yes, the socials exploit weaknesses in the human psyche for profit. Such understanding could also be used to boost trust and improve our info ecology. Obv 1st steps: ban algorithmic feeds, targeted ads.

Congrats. Will read. Until then, I humbly suggest contracting SCOTUS (to cull the trogs), before any expansion. Just a thought.

2 of my MAGA relations are now "Independents". Maybe now they'll stop telling me how tariffs are awesome.

As I wrote elsethread, Bush Admin stopped Clinton Admin daily "shaking the trees" intel briefing, to allow info sharing. With all the info available at the time, Gore Admin would have thwarted 9/11.

Wouldn't have happened. After first WTC and USS Cole, Clinton Admin instituted daily "shaking the trees" briefing with all the intel agencies, allowing them to share info and jointly chase leads. Bush Admin stopped all that (and much more). Lack of info sharing allowed 9/11 attackers to succeed.

I have relations who are OBSESSED about petty fraud (receiving 1 too many food stamps) and yet nonchalant about corporate, systemic, and official fraud. It's wild.

Abusive relationship meets hostage negotiation. Voicing awkward truths about the abuser / captor doesn't help much.

I once floated notion to ban impersonations (to politicos I know). Motivated by some local drama where delivery apps impersonated restaurants. Rcvd neutral to positive responses. I haven't followed up w/ draft legislation, resolutions, talking points. Maybe someone else can take up the fight.

After being burned, I always try to call a hotel's front desk and speak to human. ¶ Scams, grifts, gatekeeping... increase transaction costs, lower trust, pisses everyone off. Bad for business, right? Why aren't businesses pushing back?

It'd be terrific if our election administrators had a list of everyone. And every record had a tiny "eligible to vote" checkbox. Heck, we could just ask Facebook, NSA, or LexisNexus to share their lists.

Am doing eldercare. It's either Fox or CNN, all day, everyday. The programming is wild. CNN sometimes accidently does some reporting (vs opinion, commentary, interviews). Fox is surreal; a ragefest themed Not Necessarily the News meets Mclaughin Report.

I dimly recall that charging different customers different prices was already illegal. Maybe rooted in anti-discrimination policies...? So I assumed algorithmic pricing was due to lack of enforcement.

Great share, thanks. What a herculean effort! I've been bingeing all things @quinnslobodian.com since his appearance on Josh Citarella's Doomscroll podcast. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiBJ... It was the first (& only) explainer of neolib that clicked for me.
