Anti-far right demo in Swansea today meeting at the Dragon Hotel 11.30 today. The far right are descending on Swansea. We know the counter protest will be bigger. #swanseacityofsanctuary

Opps, sorry! Surprising how often I think about that all these years later.

The amount of times I've heard people (i.e well-paid management) say things like this. 'There is no work ethic in this country anymore, I work blah/blah hours a week'. They don't think of all the privileges their wage affords them, like, you know, being about to put the heat on.

Morning all! Wishing you a peaceful Friday. It feels so easy to despair, but take heart that good people are also in the world. It certainly helps me to see so many genuine, kind people on here. So much easier too weed out than the other place. Thank you for caring for the planet and its people.

So gratifying to see a substack post get more than about 10 likes. The active suppression implemented by X meant that hardly anyone ever saw my tweets about my substack. Another good reason to be here.

Not kind, true! It was really moving. Every time I hear 'working people' I just feel so sad and angry at the same time. Thank you for expressing it so well.

Just horrendous. Between them, Trump and Netanyahu seem determined to wipe the Palestinians off the face of the Earth. It was terrible under Biden. It'll be even worse now. www.theguardian.com/world/2024/n...

How do we get people to care about things that don't affect them personally? People don't seem to care about things that don't affect them, and people have an 'it couldn't happen to me' attitude about chronic illness. Genuinely think we need to retro-teach adults how to CARE about things again.

A brilliant watch @jceoltasmith.bsky.social, well done! Devastating language is being used to describe people who deserve care, compassion, and benefits. If people saw how chronically ill people are, and they are still refused help, they wouldn't believe it. youtu.be/tGM8v0lPDoU?...

They are less effective now. Also, some studies have shown that day 7 of symptoms can be the day most likely to show up as positive. Most people have stopped testing way before then. And, nose swab only tests aren't very effective either.

Guessing this isn't for Wales, as it wouldn't recognise my postcode. My Mum is in a vulnerable group, and has one booked for next week. Do you know what I need to ask them to make sure it's the updated vaccine, please?

My friend, who has terminal cancer, was left to wait 9 hours in A&E, no one around her masked, she masked despite it being boiling hot and having breathing difficulties. What are we doing to people?

With everyone losing their minds about 7 bins, worth saying in Wales we already have 5. Food waste, plastics, cardboard and paper, garden waste, and black bins. Is that unusual?
