The shift from resi clone to parry action combat pairs perfectly with the new protagonist. Probably my favorite interpretation of Miyamoto Musashi that I've ever seen in a game. This one carves out its own true metroidvania identity as it makes the leap in style to the Genesis Era. Super rewarding exploration and fun abilities. That OST got CRUNCH. 100

Legaia 1 is one of my childhood faves and this sequel in name only has nothing I liked about it outside of the core combat. Has some of the most genuine heartfelt and relatable writing I've seen in a game all year. Vibes are both horrific and immaculate. 10/10 2112

Absolute sicko level design and platforming, but once you get a feel for the tools the game gives you it becomes a lot more manageable. World is super weird and unique and the set up for this year's sequel has me hype! 100

Atmosphere and combat remain peak. DLC 1 did a good job fleshing out the game and adding more non linearity. DLC 2 is the best CV since Ecclesia. 100

The shift to one fully connected world makes it feel so much more immersive. There's a few way too well hidden buttons/levers, but otherwise stellar puzzle and world design. 210
