zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 18/11/2025People ask me if "Lord of the Rings" inspired "The Ring Master". Surprisingly no; I've never actually seen/read LOTR. If anything it's based on the Mad Hatter's hat from Once Upon a Time. Always loved that throw-spin #theringmaster #indieanimation #writing buff.ly/5e2fzHObuff.lyOnce Upon a Time 2x05 The Doctor: Rumplestiltskin, Dr. FranOne of the last scenes of Episode 5 from Season 2 of Once Upon a Time. zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 13/11/2025Another #theringmaster inspiration. Originally I had their "2 go in, 2 come out" idea, but that's changed. Now there's no limit to how many people can go through the Ring, but once the Master is through, that's it! This means people get left behind if you're not careful #indieanimation #writingyoutu.beOnce Upon a Time ~ 1x17 Regina leaves Jefferson in WonderlandIn the episode "Hat Trick" we learn why Jefferson doesn't trust the Evil Queen...not that we can blame him. 000
zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 12/11/2025I FOUND IT! This is the clip that inspired The Ring Master! Well, the concept of the Ring anyways. I wore a hat as a teenager and often pretended to spin-throw it like this. Aaand...that's how the Ring works! #theringmaster #indieanimation #writing buff.ly/5e2fzHOyoutu.beOnce Upon a Time 2x05 The Doctor: Rumplestiltskin, Dr. FranOne of the last scenes of Episode 5 from Season 2 of Once Upon a Time. zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 11/11/2025Dostani, Penny's home, Carmen's first adventure, is based on Ireland, but I finally figured out what it's the High Medieval Era, about 800-1200 CE. I'm still doing more research, but it's giving SUCH deep worldbuilding #theringmaster #indieanimation #writing 000

zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 06/08/2025I understand that “Carmen” is typically a female name in Spanish cultures. zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 05/08/2025A few weeks ago I posted a tiktok about Carmen and Penny's musical motifs in The Ring Master, but I misspoke. zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 02/08/2025I love The Ring Master. So much. I ended up writing a bunch of plot points around EPIC - like, the series finale has so much inspiration from The Vengeance and Ithaca sagas. This is how I write and remember; I listen to songs. zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 13/07/2025I have a new approach to how instruments can represent characters in a show that expands it to include sections, genres, timbres, and more, then combining them in fun ways! For example, let's say Carmen=blues and Penny=swing rhythm. When combined they make electro swing! Whadya think? #theringmaster 010
zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 12/07/2025How common is this? I get really stuck in the planning phase of everything. Like, I fantasize so much about how awesome something is gonna be someday, but the idea that "it's so far away..." makes it really hard to stay on track. Planning almost becomes a vice. Anybody else experience that? 000
zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 11/07/2025You know how shows like Avatar call seasons "Books" and episodes "Chapters"? zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 10/07/2025I wanna make a TV show. The Ring Master. I've always wanted to do this; my goal is to make/own a media production company where we write/produce our own content! I want to build it myself so I can help others like me break in, too. I'm disabled. It's hard to keep all this up, but I ain't gonna stop 000
zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 10/07/2025Carmen's dad, who abandoned him when he was little, recently died in a hurricane. Carmen spends most of the prologue dealing and coping with it. His anger often gets the better of him, and despite how hard he tries, he ends up hurting people he cares most about. Can you relate? I can. #theringmaster 000
zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 09/07/2025As of now, The Ring Master will be 9 Books (seasons) long. It's really important to me that I pace the show properly, so the amount of Pages and Chapters in each Book will be different every time. While I don't love doing that, it's more important to me that the story be told well. #theringmaster 000
zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 08/07/2025You guys ever have trouble starting? Like you have your plan, you have everything in order, but you just can't start? And even when you do, things come up and block that motivation flow - a LOT? I struggle with this EVERY TIME I try to start writing; something comes up and clogs the gears. 000
zacowga @zacowga.bsky.social · 07/07/2025What is #theringmaster? My BABY! My PASSION project! The Ring Master is a fantasy animated TV series that I've used to help me understand, process, and explore a lot of difficult stuff I experienced growing up, and it explores the deepest depths of human nature. Who else has one of these? 010
