My theory is that the polls are less accurate in red states because they're filled with Republicans, and Republicans don't respond to polls.

In 6-3 unsigned opinion, SCOTUS rules that they may strike again at any time, and you, yes you, could be next.

Thrilled to be a part of this upcoming issue of The Comics Courier, courtesy of @explodingarrow.bsky.social. Look at this murderer's row of writers on comics (and also, uh, me)!

Incredibly, I can't think of any, though if Mark Waid were still on this app he'd be able to instinctively cite the story chapter and verse if it existed.

It's so unusual to me that I feel like it warrants a John-Snow-and-the-Broad-Street-Pump style investigation to find out what's going on up there.

Is that unique to Boston? I'm actually pretty hard-pressed to think of any other examples of that phenomenon.

Look, I don't want to be too much of a homer about this, but all I'm saying is that every American should be mandatorily enrolled in a Georgetown freshman Problem of God course.

Yes. It's a deliberate, rhyming Mets-Jets-Nets axis of hopelessness.

I have seen several of the contracts, and you're misunderstanding how they worked.

A cut of sales is how that model functions.

Zach Rabiroff @zachrabiroff.com · 28/09/2026
Oh, absolutely, and adopted initially out of necessity since there was no other way to lock up exclusive contracts. Its clock was ticking basically as soon as Jemas was out the door.

It definitely wasn't a cash cow, but given that it only involved (by definition) the top creators at the company, it was hardly a money-loser, either. They made enough on their cut of issue sales to warrant omnibuses of Bendis's stuff, and Kick-Ass was a top seller while they had it.

Yeah, the thrust of my argument is that AOC is a uniquely powerful left candidate for that seat.
020
Zach Rabiroff @zachrabiroff.com · 28/09/2026
And remember, the historic Rockefeller Republican base is all Democratic upstate voters now.
000
Zach Rabiroff @zachrabiroff.com · 28/09/2026
Eh, I don't know about that. Hochul's primaries were a real test of where things stand, too. A left-wing candidate *can* win, but it's a genuine tough fight.
110
Zach Rabiroff @zachrabiroff.com · 28/09/2026
I'm thinking mostly of people saying that any left candidate could win that seat post-Schumer. It's not true: the median state-wide Democratic winner in this state is Hochul or Gillibrand, and that's an organic effect of voters.

Zach Rabiroff @zachrabiroff.com · 28/09/2026
People outside NY are dramatically underestimating how difficult it is for a left-wing candidate to win statewide, especially when they're from NYC. AOC, with huge constituency and fundraising base, is one of a handful who could feasibly pull it off.
