zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 13/01/2026NBC usually gets the Sunday 3 PM game and CBS or FOX gets the Saturday 8:15 PM so that's why. Plus 49ers-Seahawks feels more heavy on being an "NFC" matchup and that is what usually goes to FOX. Same in the AFC for CBS. 010
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 12/01/2026My guesses: Texans win: SF-SEA, Saturday 4:30 ESPN BUF-DEN, Saturday 8:15 CBS HOU-NE, Sunday 3:00 NBC LAR-CHI, Sunday 6:40 FOX Steelers win: BUF-DEN, Saturday 4:30 ESPN SF-SEA, Saturday 8:15 FOX LAR-CHI, Sunday 3:00 NBC PIT-NE, Sunday 6:40 CBS 100
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 12/01/2026Exactly. That's the only reason why they wouldn't have announced it already. 110
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 12/01/2026My guess is that Steelers-Patriots would be 6:30 PM but Texans-Patriots would be 3 PM. And the first choice for CBS would be Steelers-Patriots but if that isn't a matchup, they get Bills-Broncos and either ESPN or NBC gets Texans-Patriots. Not sure but Texans or Steelers is a big difference. 110
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 12/01/2026One of the Sunday games has to be an AFC game because the winner of HOU/PIT can't have a 2 day rest disadvantage. Then Rams-Bears as the other game so that the winner gets a rest disadvantage for the NFC Championship as a penalty for not being the #1 seed. 110
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 12/01/2026It's intentionally brutal for the 49ers. That's what happens when you're the #6 seed. The NFC games next week wouldn't be fair for the Seahawks if swapped because the Seahawks would go into the NFC Championship with one fewer day of rest instead of one more. #1 seed always gets a better schedule. 010
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 12/01/2026My guess is that Steelers-Patriots would be 6:30 PM but Texans-Patriots would be 3 PM. zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 05/01/2026Actually I realized it's because of conferences. If an AFC game is on Saturday and the winner of that game plays Houston or Pittsburgh in the divisional round, they would have 2 more days of rest coming in, putting the other team at a disadvantage. It has to be 2 NFC games on Saturday. 120
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 05/01/2026Yeah I wonder about that now. Maybe GB-CHI is the better matchup so they give NBC a turn with it, but I could still go either way. 100
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 05/01/2026I was thinking FOX would take GB-CHI to just have Burkhardt and Brady do it a third time, then SF-PHI on NBC. I definitely think those two go in those two spots, just not sure which one goes where. 100
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 05/01/2026Texans vs. AFC North would definitely be better for ESPN but we'll see. I have this: Saturday 4:30 (FOX): LAC vs. NE Saturday 8:15 (Prime): HOU vs. AFC North Sunday 1 PM (CBS): BUF vs. JAX Sunday 4:30 (FOX): GB vs. CHI Sunday 8:15 (NBC): SF vs. PHI Monday 8:15 (ESPN): LAR vs. CAR 010
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 29/12/2025You're right, but it's ratings too. Networks don't want to pass up on the Rodgers thing and the rivalry. SEA-SF is still a prime time game at least so that's a good win for ESPN. 110
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 29/12/2025Ravens-Steelers is just such a big rivalry and could be the final game for Aaron Rodgers. Bigger storylines and more at stake, as at least the Seahawks and 49ers are both getting into the playoffs. 110
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 29/12/2025I have Colts-Texans as the first game and then Panthers-Buccaneers after. Both games will feature a team firmly in the playoffs. Saints-Falcons wouldn't make sense because both teams are pretty much eliminated. 000
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 29/12/2025A few of my marquee game predictions: Saturday 4:30 PM: IND vs. HOU Saturday 8:15 PM: CAR vs. TB CBS 4:25 PM: LAC vs. DEN FOX 4:25 PM: SEA vs. SF Sunday Night: BAL vs. PIT 010
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 29/12/2025I agree. Hard to see them passing up on such a big rivalry for a win or go home game. 100
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 28/12/2025Yes. Generally there are 1-3 per year, just depends on how many times a team's home game is on the singleheader network in a season. Charlotte could've also done it today the Panthers chose not to enforce it. Seattle could've done it in Week 13 as well. Titans were the only team enforcing it. 000
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 25/12/2025It'll still be on. There are two games and Giants-Raiders isn't nationally televised so they can cover that window. It will sign off when Giants-Raiders is done, though. 100
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 25/12/2025It's pretty common for teams to do it in this situation honestly. Yeah the ownership is bad but pretty much any team would do this in this situation. Once they're over 4 games a year competing with a home team, it can be enforced. Always better to not have another game competing with yours. 000
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 25/12/2025It's still a thing but it's been loosened a lot. A team can have 4 home games per year on the singleheader network that compete with a different game on the doubleheader network. After that, the team has the option of enforcing a blackout on the opposing network, which is what the Titans are doing. 111
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 19/12/2025Which other game would they pick? Of the 8 teams featured in the CBS 1 PM window, the Bills are the only one that is still alive in the playoff race. The other ones are all out, meaning they have 3 completely meaningless games. This is the only one that is even somewhat significant. 000
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 19/12/2025They'll probably keep it because the Cowboys are just such a popular team. TB-CAR and JAX-DEN are good matchups on paper but feature small markets teams. Plus the Chargers are in the playoff race so it's still a relevant game. 000
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 10/12/2025No it's pretty much always just the highest bidder in every market. Doesn't really matter what the affiliate is. I live in Detroit and all Lions games from ESPN, Prime Video, or NFL Network are on FOX 2 no matter what because they bid the highest for Lions games. 010
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 10/12/2025There are 2 Sundays a year like this so that CBS and FOX get the same number of doubleheaders. Week 18 is one of them and this is the other. 120
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 09/12/20251. They're not getting rid of a Cowboys game. They get the best ratings, even if they're not playing that well. 2. KC/DEN can't be flexed because CBS has it protected. 3. LAR/SEA can't be flexed because their Week 16 matchup is on Prime Video, so this one has to be on FOX. 000
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 09/12/2025Boston and Baltimore are bigger markets, Drake Maye and Lamar Jackson are bigger name QBs. Much more appealing matchup for TV. 110
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 04/12/2025Probably to interfere less with CCP games going that day. 000
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 26/11/2025NBC isn't going to get rid of one game just because another might be slightly better. And that isn't even the case, as the Chiefs are one of the most popular teams in the league. Plus the 4:25 PM window gets the best ratings of the week, so if CHI-GB is the best game, then the 4:25 PM window is good 110
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 25/11/2025Both teams have a winning record and KC gets really good ratings. Why would they get rid of HOU-KC? 100
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 08/10/2025St. Louis getting the Rams is so funny lol 000
zachnoricks.bsky.social @zachnoricks.bsky.social · 04/10/2025Yeah KC still gets that game because the Chargers are in the same division as the Chiefs. If it weren't an AFC West team playing, they might get Lions vs. Bengals because it's the matchup for the rest of the midwest. 110
