Or, more likely, Stuff+ is a malleable metric that has too many moving parts but god knows we should try to bulldoze an analysis using it for a sub population of players (ie those in the playoffs currently) rather than back off of it any time soon.
Eno Sarris @@enosarris.osky.social • 8m
Postseason pitchers had a collective Stuff+ of
105 in the reg season (100 = ave). They've
pushed it to 107 S+ in playoffs.
There's a cost. Their 102 Location+ in regular season → 98 L+ in playoffs.
Better hitters inspire worse locations. But could hard usage also be a factor?

The Munk School should be so lucky to have his expertise at their students’ disposal! Diversity of thought!!!
The context of a changing U.S. foreign policy makes the opportunity to study in New York another key asset of the
program.
Hansen explains, "Grasping what's happening in America right now is essential and there's no better place than from within America itself."
Further, the value of learning from within a Canadian context is made more excellent when paired with learning from an American perspective or a European perspective. The opportunity and the community are made richer with that diversity of thought.

This is interesting. Although I do think it’s reading into Addams’ work a bit. Valverde sees the split less quant/qual and more about universities claiming knowledge domain over journalists/novelists/reformers. She suggests methodology of “miserologists” was variegated
14 "Miserology": A New Look at the History of Criminology

Mariana Valverde

Abstract
In this chapter, Mariana Valverde offers a historical overview of the discourses underlying modern criminal theory. Modern criminology is rooted in a long tradition of "miserology," the study of that "hybrid of moral degradation, physical ill health, spatial marginality, and collective despair... found among the new urban proletariat." That history spans Engels's focus on the "nameless misery" of British factory workers, great 19th-century novelists like Charles Dickens and Victor Hugo, Christian anti-poverty activism, modern welfare dependency discourse, and The Wire. Criminology, however, has lost touch with those deeply situated inquiries. Valverde points to the mid-20th century as a moment of schism between the professional study of crime and crime rates—

I’m no scholar of comic books - but this seems wrong as an inherent thing. Is there a potential for this happening - of course. This is what reactionaries do - resist or co-opt. Maybe it’s that “hero” often signifies a particular type of journey.
Ya boy is working on a thing about how superhero comics are an inherently conservative genre/medium and, well... I'm not wrong.

We probably follow different people on social media. All the objections to my reply are telling on themselves in different ways I think
I cannot swear to know the minds of men like Murphy and Sanders. But, were I a betting person, I'd wager someone else's riches that they know racism and xenophobia are inextricably linked to America's inchoate understanding of class politics. They know that "working class" has become a powerful political totem of its own — a discursive sleight of hand used to separate out white voters' concerns as more legitimate, more materially grounded, more important than other voters' concerns.
These senators are demonstrating a willful blindness that has become endemic in the Democratic Party. Their rhetoric — and the conventional wisdom that flows from it - suggests that we cannot talk about economic solutions without abandoning our commitment to the Black, Latino, gay, transgender and female poor that are the lifeblood of the Democratic Party's base. The conceit at the heart of that belief is that poor white people are too racist, and too uniquely ignorant of their racism, to vote in their best interests. Therefore, Democrats have to accept a little racism to win the working class.
It is an old argument. History will tell you that negotiating with racism or fascism or authoritarianism never ends well.

As I’ve posted elsewhere…not sure this is cheating per the world curling rules:
R9. TOUCHED MOVING STONES
(a) Between the tee line at the delivery end and the hog line at the playing end:
1. If a moving stone is touched, or is caused to be touched, by the team to which it belongs, or by their equipment, the touched stone is removed from play immediately by that team. A double touch by the person delivering the stone, prior to the hog line at the delivering end, is not considered a violation.

Cool read. Great to see it described as “going smoothly” considering the loss of 80 lives. But I guess they don’t matter since they aren’t US force men and at least Maduro didn’t get to seal himself away.
Intel would have been crucial. Trump acknowledged his authorization of covert CIA operations in Venezuela in October, and evidently, by the end of the year, analysts had gathered the information needed to make this operation go smoothly. The intelligence would have had to include knowing exactly where Maduro would be at the time of the operation, and the situation around him.the nature of U.S. cyber activities is only speculation here, a coherent, alerted
Venezuelan command and control system could have cost the lives of U.S. force members and given Maduro time to seal himself in his safe room, creating a problem - albeit not an insurmountable one - for U.S. forces.

Once again Nightengale has cemented his status as baseball knower
Agents will spread rumors at the meetings that half the teams in baseball are interested in their client. Teams will spread rumors that they're interested in other free agents simply to put
pressure on the player they really want. And players will spread rumors that they have interest in playing for every team just to drive up the price.
The cold-hearted truth is that there will be less than a handful of trades, mostly small in stature, and no more than one or two high-profile free agents will actually sign before the meetings break up Wednesday after the Rule 5 Draft.

Remarks Honoring the World Series
Champion Toronto Blue Jays
December 16, 1992

This is about as much fun as l've had since the election, I'll tell you. I am just delighted that the Toronto Blue Jays are here. Ambassador Burney was to be here; I don't know that he is. But he's a good man. He's represented Canada well. And that brings me to the subject at hand.

Is Steve -- I can't see -- there's Bobby. Hi, Steve. Bobby Brown is here, an oldtime, longtime friend, the American League president, and I appreciate your being here, and Steve Greenberg, who is the deputy commissioner of baseball and doing a superb job in that very tough office.
And I want to salute Mike Reilly and Joe West, the umpires. Very little good is said in kind about the umpires, but I'm glad to stand up for them. They do a great job. And our Little League champs are here from Long Beach, California. And behind them, I'm told, the Babe Ruth champs, Babe Ruth League champions from across the Nation. So welcome to all of you.
