The video draws heavily from Victorian-era, Steampunk, and medieval Romanian imagery , evoking the shadowy presence of Count Dracula while exploring themes of deception, control, religion versus paganism, and self-identity . Is the mask slipping? Is the veil lifting? The theatrical visuals provide a dark counterpart to Flight of Odin's atmospheric blend of melodic doom, psychedelic rock, progressive music, classical influences, and traditional heavy metal . The new video arrives following significant recognition for I Traveled The Crooked Path . Rock Hard Magazine awarded the album a 9/10 rating and named it Self-Production Of The Month , praising the band's dreamlike psychedelic atmosphere, melodic sensibility, experimental passages, prominent piano work, and the warm, magnetic vocals of Xyra . Flight of Odin has also been featured on Metallurg Music Compilation No. 8 - Part 2 , further expanding the band's presence throughout the underground metal community. GHOST PIPE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE UNKNOWN WITH NEW SINGLE FROM UPCOMING ALBUM THE AWAKENING - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE GHOST PIPE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE UNKNOWN WITH NEW SINGLE FROM UPCOMING ALBUM THE AWAKENING Grand Rapids, Michigan Stoner/Doom Outfit Delivers a Dense, Psychedelic Journey Into Darkness, Transformation, and Self-Discovery GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Grand Rapids, Michigan stoner/doom metal outfit Ghost Pipe has unleashed a new single from its forthcoming full-length album The Awakening , offering listeners a first glimpse into a record built around crushing riffs, swirling psychedelia, introspection, and the darker corners of the human experience. Blending elements of stoner rock, heavy psych, doom metal, sludge, and doomgaze , Ghost Pipe creates a sound that feels equally at home in a smoke-filled basement, a windswept forest, or somewhere far beyond the known universe. For fans of Acid Bath, Monster Magnet, and Monolord , the band's music moves between massive fuzz-driven grooves and expansive atmospheric passages, creating a sonic landscape that is heavy without sacrificing depth or imagination. The new single serves as an introduction to the world of The Awakening , an album that challenges listeners to look beyond the surface and confront the parts of themselves that are often left unexplored. “The Awakening is a journey beneath the surface, into the dark roots of the self. It asks you to open your mind, confront what lies hidden within, and face the parts of yourself that are easier to leave in the shadows. Like roots growing unseen beneath the earth, the deepest knowledge often comes from places we rarely choose to explore. These songs move through darkness, transformation, and the strange spaces between the known and unknown. What you find down there is yours to carry, and yours to grow from.” Rather than simply delivering another collection of heavy songs, Ghost Pipe approaches The Awakening as a cerebral experience , encouraging the listener to open their mind, look inward, and grow through the knowledge discovered along the way. The album was recorded and mixed by Joel Ferguson of The Verve Pipe at Planet Sunday Studio and mastered by Carl Saff at Saff Mastering , whose extensive credits include mastering and remastering work for artists including Elder. The record's visual identity comes through artwork by Nathan Galusa , with photography by Jessica Taboada . Ghost Pipe's lineup features: Allen Milbourne – Vocals, Effects Travis Federau – Guitar, Vocals Wyatt Federau – Guitar, Samples Georg Rumpf – Bass, Synthesizer Simon Hill – Drums All music by Ghost Pipe. The Awakening will be released through Black Doomba Records on November 20, 2026 , with the album's pre-sale beginning October 30, 2026 . For Ghost Pipe, The Awakening is an invitation to go deeper. PORTALS OF THE TOMB GUARD UNLEASH THE DARK WORLD OF KURIO WITH NEW ALBUM SEASONS OF HELL - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PORTALS OF THE TOMB GUARD UNLEASH THE DARK WORLD OF KURIO WITH NEW ALBUM SEASONS OF HELL Heavy Metal Outfit Explores Demonic Realms, Afterlife Concepts and the Dark Corridors of Humanity on New Full-Length Album Heavy metal outfit Portals of the Tomb Guard officially open the gates to a world where death is only the beginning with the release of their new full-length album, Seasons of Hell , available now. Built around heavy metal foundations and a sprawling conceptual mythology, Seasons of Hell takes listeners deep into the strange and sinister world of Kurio , the curious one who serves as the central figure throughout the band's evolving narrative. Through Kurio's journey, Portals of the Tomb Guard explores the darker corridors of human existence, the afterlife, demonic realms, rebellion against corrupt powers, and the mysterious forces responsible for designing and shaping worlds beyond our own. “Kurio is everywhere.” The origins of Portals of the Tomb Guard began simply enough. What started as a group of musicians meeting every week to jam for fun gradually developed into the possibility of creating something much larger. Drummer, guitarist, vocalist, and longtime musician Morgan Heck joined forces with Steven Eddie , whose background and conceptual approach helped establish the project's lyrical and musical direction. When Eddie and Heck entered the studio, the project initially evolved under two separate identities, Portals of the Damned and Tomb Guard . As the music and mythology continued to develop, the two entities eventually merged into one, giving birth to Portals of the Tomb Guard . At the heart of that evolution was Kurio. Curious and relentless, Kurio travels through a world filled with darkness, confronting the Kings of Theron , figures representing selfish rulers and established powers, while experiencing concepts surrounding death, the demonic world and realities beyond the known. His journey eventually leads toward the mysterious Inbetwixt , entities gifted with the ability to understand and conquer the puzzles of existence, becoming builders of puzzles and ultimately builders of worlds. Seasons of Hell serves as another chapter in that expanding universe. With Steven Eddie handling vocals and guitars, Morgan Heck contributing drums, vocals and guitars, David Lammons on bass, and Cameron Brown on keyboards, Portals of the Tomb Guard combine a traditional heavy metal foundation with theatrical darkness and a growing conceptual narrative. The album was produced and recorded by Steven Eddie at Hard Wall Studios / Bee Cave Records , with mixing and mastering handled by Rick Greenwood of Geneva Post Audio . And this chapter is far from the end. With the band's lineup now established and a new project already underway, Portals of the Tomb Guard are preparing to delve even deeper into the world of Kurio, expanding the mythology and continuing the journey through the realms that exist beyond the familiar. For those willing to step through the portal, Seasons of Hell is now open. HELLIR DESCENDS DEEPER INTO THE DARKNESS WITH NEW EP HOLLOW MOON; APHELION - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE HELLIR DESCENDS DEEPER INTO THE DARKNESS WITH NEW EP HOLLOW MOON; APHELION Solo Blackened Progressive Metal Project Unleashes the Heavier, Angrier Second Chapter of the Hollow Moon Trilogy on October 26, 2026 There is something inherently unsettling about being alive. The weight of existence, the darkness beneath the surface, and the things that linger in the spaces between despair and release all become fuel for hellir , the solo blackened progressive metal project of Daniel Shaneyfelt . On October 26, 2026 , hellir will release hollow moon; aphelion , the second installment in the project's planned Hollow Moon trilogy. Following the singles “nebula” and “glint,” the new EP pushes hellir's sound into heavier, angrier, and more punishing territory while continuing to leave room for unexpected turns. “The second installment in the hollow moon trilogy. Heavier, angrier, meaner, with a couple surprises along the way.” That description gets straight to the point. hellir isn't interested in staying inside the boundaries of a single sound. The project moves freely between delicate piano passages, electronic and techno-inspired elements, atmospheric textures, and crushing heaviness, creating a soundscape that can shift from fragile to devastating without warning. At the center of it all is a bleak examination of what it means to be alive. Inspired by the intensity and genre-bending approach that may appeal to fans of Nott, Humanity's Last Breath, and Rolo Tomassi , hellir takes progressive metal into darker and more unpredictable territory. The contrast is essential to the project's identity. Moments of restraint give the heavier sections even more impact, while electronic elements and unconventional textures add another layer to the darkness. Entirely written, produced, mixed, and mastered by Daniel Shaneyfelt in his home studio, hollow moon; aphelion is a fully independent release with every aspect of its creation handled by the project's sole member. With hollow moon; aphelion , hellir continues building its own bleak universe and moves the larger trilogy one step closer to its conclusion. The moon is still hollow. The journey is getting darker. hellir's hollow moon; aphelion arrives October 26, 2026. RELEASE DETAILS Artist: hellir Release: hollow moon; aphelion Release Type: EP Release Date: October 26, 2026 Genre: Blackened Progressive Metal Singles: “nebula” / “glint” Written, Produced, Mixed & Mastered By: Daniel Shaneyfelt Label: Independent For Fans Of: Nott, Humanity's Last Breath, Rolo Tomassi ABOUT HELLIR hellir is a solo blackened progressive metal project created by Daniel Shaneyfelt. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DIRELANDS UNLEASH CRUSHING NEW SINGLE “LEVIATHAN” Houston Doom, Stoner, and Sludge Quartet Continues the Road to Altars With Another Dose of Riff-Driven Destruction Houston, Texas heavy quartet Direlands have officially unleashed their crushing new single “Leviathan,” the latest chapter in the band’s ongoing campaign toward their forthcoming full-length album, Altars , due January 20, 2027. Built from the weight and atmosphere of doom, the grit of Gulf Coast sludge, and the muscular attack of stoner metal, “Leviathan” further establishes the sound Direlands have been developing throughout their recent releases. Massive riffs, dynamic songwriting, and a sense of scale give the track the feeling of a soundtrack to a world already collapsing around it. “Lay waste to the damned!” “Leviathan” follows the release of “The Wizard” on August 26 and marks the second scheduled chapter in Direlands' carefully planned rollout for Altars . With the latest single now available, the band will continue unleashing new material throughout the coming months, including “Blood Moon” on October 22, “Ancients” on November 19, and “Doombringer” on December 16. The Houston quartet has carved out its own place within the American heavy underground, sharing stages with acts including The Obsessed, Duel, Warlung, and Stone Nomads . The band's sound draws from heavy metal, atmospheric doom, and Gulf Coast sludge, combining technically sharp musicianship with precise, riff-driven arrangements and volatile vocal dynamics. While the lineup has evolved over the years, the band's commitment to heavy music and strong songwriting has remained constant. With influences ranging from classic hard rock and heavy metal to darker alternative and modern metal, Summon The Moon occupy a space where crushing guitars and powerful rhythms meet catchy, emotionally driven hooks . Fans of Clutch , Alice In Chains , and Memphis May Fire will find plenty to sink their teeth into, but Summon The Moon bring their own distinctly Middle Tennessee flavor to the mix. ANOTHER DEMON BRINGS OLD-SCHOOL THRASH FURY AND DEATH-METAL WEIGHT WITH “REDUCED TO ASH” - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ANOTHER DEMON BRINGS OLD-SCHOOL THRASH FURY AND DEATH-METAL WEIGHT WITH “REDUCED TO ASH” New York City Thrash Attackers Spotlight Fan-Favorite Track From As Above So Below Following Massive Battle of the Bands Victories and October 2026 Band of the Month Honors NEW YORK CITY, NY — New York City thrash metal force Another Demon is turning up the heat with “Reduced to Ash,” a crushing focus track from the band's As Above So Below EP, originally released in 2023 and re-released worldwide in 2026 through Bloodrite Covenant Records with Earache Digital Distribution . Blending the speed and aggression of classic thrash with death-metal weight, hardcore influence and a darker modern edge, “Reduced to Ash” delivers the kind of unapologetic, riff-driven attack that has defined heavy metal for generations. For fans of Slayer, Testament and Overkill , Another Demon brings together veteran musicians from the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut heavy-music scene for a sound that is both rooted in the old school and built for the present. The current lineup features Max Capshaw on vocals, Frank Tosi and Jun Takeshita on lead guitars, Fred Romer on bass and Dave English on drums. Originally released September 22, 2023 as part of As Above So Below , the EP has found new life through its 2026 worldwide re-release. The record also features a guest appearance from legendary guitarist James Murphy , known for his work with Death, Testament, Obituary and Cancer. “Reduced to Ash” is a particularly strong introduction to the band's sound. “‘Reduced to Ash’ is probably one of the best introductions to what Another Demon is about. It’s fast, aggressive and rooted in the thrash metal we grew up on, but there’s also that darker death-metal and New York edge underneath it. We wanted something immediate that hits hard without overcomplicating what a great metal song is supposed to do.” — Frank Tosi, Another Demon The track has also received serious praise from some respected names in the metal world. “Another Demon is some of the best new Thrash Death out there. Glad to be a part of it. The music shreds and crushes!” — James Murphy Death / Testament / Obituary / Cancer “Frank writes great metal. Full of shredding evil guitars and catchy songwriting. I could listen to this all day!” — Karl Sanders Nile FROM BATTLE OF THE BANDS CHAMPIONS TO MDR BAND OF THE MONTH Another Demon has also been building an increasingly vocal following through Metal Devastation Radio's Battle of the Bands , where the band has proven its ability to command an enormous audience. Earlier in 2026, Another Demon captured a massive victory in the Battle of the Bands before being named Metal Devastation Radio's Band of the Month for July 2026 , winning with an astonishing 78,786,044 votes . And they weren't finished. After another dominant Battle of the Bands performance in September, Another Demon has once again taken the crown and has been named Metal Devastation Radio's Band of the Month for October 2026 , this time with an insane 27,455,987 votes . That kind of fan response has made Another Demon one of the standout acts in the MDR community and adds another chapter to the band's growing momentum. A NEW CHAPTER IS ALREADY UNDERWAY While “Reduced to Ash” puts the spotlight on As Above So Below , Another Demon is already looking toward what comes next. The band has completed production on 10 new songs , with Jason Bittner of Shadows Fall, formerly of Overkill, handling drum recording and Richie Kennon of Subzero and Barking Dog Studios producing. The next chapter promises to push Another Demon's aggressive combination of thrash, death metal and New York hardcore influence even further. As Above So Below was produced by Frank Tosi, Max Capshaw and Richie Kennon , with Kennon also handling engineering, mixing and mastering. The EP was recorded at Barking Dog Studios in New York . With a reissued EP, a massive and growing fanbase, two Battle of the Bands victories, consecutive MDR Band of the Month honors and an entirely new body of music on the horizon, Another Demon is proving that the New York metal tradition is still very much alive. “Reduced to Ash” is available now. Blending alternative rock, grunge, metal, and industrial influences, Ghanges builds its sound around heavy guitars, powerful rhythms, atmospheric textures, and direct, introspective lyrics. The result is a record that embraces both the weight and vulnerability of modern alternative music while maintaining a distinctly personal identity. Abrí los ojos , which translates to Open Your Eyes , explores reality, inner conflict, personal struggles, and the questions that often remain beneath the surface. LORDIAN ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM BLACK PASTORAL - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE LORDIAN ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM BLACK PASTORAL Italian Solo Project Delivers Seven Dark Parables of Southern Gothic Doom, Doom Blues and Gospel Gone to Rot FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE LORDIAN preaches from a country God abandoned. The solo project of an Italian musician and member of Asphodelia , LORDIAN steps beyond the boundaries of traditional metal and into a darker, dust-covered world of doom blues, slide guitar, Southern Gothic atmosphere and corrupted gospel. The project's debut album, Black Pastoral , arrives October 22, 2026 , digitally. Built as a collection of seven bleak and cinematic parables, Black Pastoral explores drought, doubt, suffering, faith and the strange places where mercy and despair collide. Its songs travel through dust roads, drowned fields, shuttered churches and lonely highways, creating a landscape where religion has not necessarily disappeared, but whatever answers once came from above have long since stopped arriving. This is not simply an album about darkness. It is about what remains when people continue praying after the answers have stopped. Across Black Pastoral , LORDIAN presents a world where healing does not necessarily mean salvation. Suffering is passed from one body to another, buried in the soil or carried by the beasts. A dying dog sings beneath the wheel of dawn. A wandering healer breaks a fever only to leave fields filled with dead cattle. Christ crosses an American desert on foot and shares a warm beer with the Devil beside a dying gas station, two figures seemingly forgotten by the world around them. The result is slow, heavy and cinematic, with the weight of doom meeting the rawness of blues, dark Americana and gospel music stripped of its comfort. “Black Pastoral lives in the ruins of a faith gone rotten — the fear and the ritual still standing long after the mercy is gone. It’s a country God left behind, where the prayers fall like gravel and the dirt answers before the sky ever does. Not a record about a cruel God, but about what a person becomes when Heaven simply looks the other way.” LORDIAN Written and produced entirely by LORDIAN, Black Pastoral is a self-produced, one-man recording built around a singular vision. The album was mixed and mastered at Walls Of Sleep Studio , further shaping its stark, haunted atmosphere. For listeners drawn to the darkness and blues-driven heaviness of Black Label Society , the experimental spiritual intensity of Zeal & Ardor , or the bleak storytelling of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds , Black Pastoral offers something equally shadowed but distinctly its own. “These are hymns for a faith left to rot in the ground.” — LORDIAN LORDIAN — Black Pastoral Southern Gothic Doom / Doom Blues October 22, 2026 · Digital About LORDIAN LORDIAN is the solo doom-blues project of an Italian musician and member of Asphodelia. Blending doom, slide guitar, dark Americana and gospel imagery, LORDIAN creates slow, cinematic music rooted in stories of faith, suffering and the landscapes left behind when hope disappears. MOTHERTOMB: FROM A NORTHERN MICHIGAN GARAGE TO #5 ON THE DOOM CHARTS - @thebeast
MOTHERTOMB: FROM A NORTHERN MICHIGAN GARAGE TO #5 ON THE DOOM CHARTS Chance and Alice Gawlinski talk DIY doom, overcoming fear, the strange story behind Mothertomb, and finding freedom through music There are plenty of ways a band can form. Some musicians meet through other bands, some answer an ad looking for members, and others spend years searching for the right lineup. For Northern Michigan doom/sludge outfit Mothertomb , it started with a broken boiler. That unlikely chain of events eventually brought Chance and Alice Gawlinski together with drummer Mike, leading to a completely DIY project that has now made a serious impact on the underground. Following the release of their debut album Dying to Live , Mothertomb landed at #5 on the monthly Doom Charts , putting the Northern Michigan outfit alongside some of the biggest names in the underground doom and heavy music scene. During a recent appearance on The Zach Moonshine Show , Chance and Alice sat down to talk about the band's unusual beginnings, their DIY approach, musical influences, Alice's journey from severe performance anxiety to embracing the stage, and what it has been like watching their music reach listeners around the world. IT ALL STARTED WITH A BROKEN BOILER Mothertomb's origin story sounds almost too perfect for a doom metal band. Chance explained that when the boiler in their house went out, a repairman named Mike came by to take care of it. While working around the house, Mike noticed the collection of albums covering the walls of Chance's garage. The two started talking about music. Then came the revelation that Mike was a drummer. Chance was a guitar player. A jam session followed, and Mothertomb began to take shape. "We got together, we kicked out a couple jams and the rest is history from there." It's one of those completely random moments that could have easily gone nowhere. Instead, it became the foundation for a band that would eventually attract attention far beyond their home state. DIY FROM THE GROUND UP One of the most impressive aspects of Mothertomb's story is just how much of their music was created without relying on outside machinery. The band recorded their album in a converted garage that became their home studio. Alice handled the artwork herself, while also writing the lyrics and developing the vocal melodies. Then came the reaction from the underground. Landing at #5 on the Doom Charts was a major milestone for a band operating almost entirely on its own terms. Chance summed up the experience perfectly: "We're just four people up in rural northern Michigan, man. We made that whole album ourselves out of a garage turned into a home studio. So super humbling that we got that reception just given how DIY everything was." For Mothertomb, the DIY approach isn't simply a budgetary necessity. It's part of the band's identity. Alice explained that doing things yourself can sometimes produce something more personal and unexpected than outsourcing every part of the creative process. "You never know what you can do until you put yourself in that position where it's like, well, what if we couldn't outsource it and we had to do this thing?" That philosophy runs through everything Mothertomb creates. FROM REHEARSING IN THE DARK TO OWNING THE STAGE Perhaps the most compelling part of the conversation was Alice's story of overcoming her fear of performing. When Mothertomb first began rehearsing, Alice struggled with severe performance anxiety. So much so that the band would literally rehearse with the lights turned off because she didn't want the other members watching her. Chance remembers those early rehearsals. "When we would get together to rehearse, she didn't even want us to be able to see her. So we would actually have to practice in the dark with the lights off because she just didn't like the idea of being exposed." But something changed once the music started. Once Alice felt free enough to let go, the voice was there. That confidence eventually carried over to the stage. Alice admitted that before playing her first shows, she wasn't even sure she would enjoy performing. Then she discovered something completely different. "Well, we performed and I was like, 'Holy shit, that was amazing.' It just totally unlocked a whole 'nother level for me and I absolutely love performing now." What began as fear ultimately became one of the most fulfilling parts of the project. Alice described the transformation as a matter of challenging the limitations she had placed on herself. "I really can write songs. I really can sing them. I really can actually do this. Like, why the hell not?" That attitude seems to fit Mothertomb perfectly. FINDING THEIR SOUND IN THE DARK Mothertomb's music draws from a wide range of influences, including classic rock, 60s and 70s psychedelia, doom metal, Alice Cooper, and Type O Negative. For Chance, some of those influences go back much further. As a kid, he was exposed to the Satanic Panic-era propaganda surrounding rock and heavy metal. His mother even showed him the VHS Hell's Bells: The Dangers of Rock 'n' Roll , intended to warn children about the supposed dangers of heavy music. Instead, it had exactly the opposite effect. The tape featured AC/DC's "Hell's Bells." Chance heard it. And he was hooked. "What was intended to scare me away from it actually turned me on to it." Decades later, those early influences have found their way into a sound that balances heaviness with atmosphere, groove and psychedelic darkness. Alice pointed specifically to Type O Negative's October Rust as an important influence on the band's approach to creating atmosphere. "Creating an atmosphere is really important to us." That emphasis on atmosphere is a major part of what gives Mothertomb their identity. Their music isn't simply about being heavy. It's about creating a world for the listener to enter. MORE THAN GENRES AND LABELS Another interesting part of the conversation went beyond music itself. Alice discussed the tendency people have to place themselves into rigid categories and then allow those labels to determine what they believe they can or cannot do. For her, Mothertomb became another opportunity to challenge those assumptions. "Sometimes we get so locked in on labels that we deny ourselves experiences that could actually reveal something different." It's a fitting philosophy for a band that itself refuses to be confined to one narrow box. Doom, sludge, classic rock, psychedelia, gothic atmosphere and heavy metal all have a place in the Mothertomb universe. THE WORLD IS LISTENING Mothertomb's rise isn't limited to Northern Michigan. The band has begun seeing listeners from around the world, including a growing audience in Europe. Alice spoke about the unique relationship European audiences have with heavy metal and the sense of independence she sees in the way fans discover and support music there. "One thing that I really appreciate about the European culture is that they decide for themselves what they want to listen to and what they like." For an independent band creating music from a garage in rural Northern Michigan, reaching those listeners is a pretty remarkable development. And perhaps that's what makes Mothertomb's story so compelling. There was no major label machine behind Dying to Live . No massive recording facility. No carefully manufactured origin story. There was a broken boiler. A garage. A collection of records. A drummer who happened to notice them. Four musicians willing to create something themselves. And a willingness to push past fear and see what might happen. The result is Mothertomb , a band that has gone from DIY rehearsals in the darkness to a #5 Doom Charts finish and an expanding audience beyond their home state and across international borders. If Dying to Live is any indication, Mothertomb's story is only getting started. LISTEN TO MOTHERTOMB Mothertomb's album Dying to Live is available now. METAL INJECTION FEATURES WIZARD TATTOO AND NEW PROGRESSIVE BLACKENED DOOM EPIC WHEN GODS HAD HANDS - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE METAL INJECTION FEATURES WIZARD TATTOO AND NEW PROGRESSIVE BLACKENED DOOM EPIC WHEN GODS HAD HANDS Indianapolis One-Man Metal Project’s Latest Album Is Out Now via Garage Fire Recordings INDIANAPOLIS, IN | October 2, 2026 – Wizard Tattoo is receiving the spotlight from Metal Injection , who have featured the Indianapolis-based solo metal project and its ambitious new album When Gods Had Hands . Released today, October 2nd, through Garage Fire Recordings , When Gods Had Hands is the latest chapter in multi-instrumentalist Bram the Bard’s ongoing Wizard Tattoo universe, combining progressive doom, blackened metal, industrial textures, cinematic atmosphere, and experimental elements into an expansive eight-movement concept album. Read the Metal Injection feature and check out When Gods Had Hands : https://metalinjection.net/upcoming-releases/heavy-new-releases/the-weekly-injection-new-releases-from-amon-amarth-imminence-and-more-out-this-week-10-2 Listen to the album: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/wizardtattoo/when-gods-had-hands The Metal Injection feature adds to the growing coverage surrounding Wizard Tattoo, a project that has steadily developed its own dark and unconventional identity since releasing its self-titled EP in 2022. For When Gods Had Hands , Wizard Tattoo dives into ancient mythology, forbidden knowledge, religion, technology, and humanity’s continuing pursuit of powers beyond its limitations. The album draws a haunting parallel between the fall of the Watchers described in the Book of Enoch and humanity’s modern pursuit of artificial divinity. Ancient forbidden knowledge becomes a metaphor for the technologies humanity continues to create, raising questions about what happens when mankind begins building its own gods. Musically, the album moves between crushing doom, blackened aggression, progressive experimentation, industrial textures, vintage film samples, and cinematic passages, with unexpected Middle Eastern-inspired elements adding another layer to its atmosphere. For fans of Venom, Woe, and early Anathema , When Gods Had Hands represents Wizard Tattoo’s most expansive and experimental statement to date. The concept began with vocalist and writer Fausto Aurelius , who developed the album’s narrative, philosophical framework, spoken word elements, and accompanying essay. His vocals shift between prophet-like declarations and machine-like processing, creating a voice caught between an ancient warning and a futuristic transmission. Bram the Bard wrote, performed, recorded, mixed, mastered, and illustrated the entire release, continuing Wizard Tattoo’s tradition of complete creative independence. Bram the Bard explains: “After Living Just for Dying I wanted a real departure, to lean all the way into the blackened side for a whole album, the way I first did on ‘Tomorrow Never Dies.’ The influences run wide, classical, industrial, 90s alternative, and the whole thing took a year to conceptualize and come together. It's the furthest I've pushed Wizard Tattoo.” Fausto Aurelius adds: “This started as an attempt to make something different. Not black metal, not doom, not progressive, but something else entirely. The concept sent me back into dark industrial and black metal, and into religion and philosophy, trying to understand what's happening to the culture of humanity. I'm proud of this contribution to the myth of Wizard Tattoo.” A GROWING WIZARD TATTOO UNIVERSE Since the release of the Wizard Tattoo self-titled EP in 2022, Bram the Bard has continued building a connected universe of dark, heavy, and experimental metal. Previous releases include the full-length Fables of the Damned (2023) and the EPs Living Just for Dying and One of These Knives (2024), featuring recurring vocal contributions from Fausto Aurelius and Djinnifer . The project has also earned coverage from outlets including Ghost Cult, The Obelisk, MetalBite, Doomed and Stoned, Ever Metal , and more. Now, with When Gods Had Hands officially out and featured by Metal Injection, Wizard Tattoo enters its next chapter. The Watchers gave humanity forbidden knowledge. Humanity built new gods. Now Wizard Tattoo asks what happens next. BORIS BILLING LAUNCHES SOLO CAREER WITH DEBUT SINGLE “I’M COMING HOME” - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BORIS BILLING LAUNCHES SOLO CAREER WITH DEBUT SINGLE “I’M COMING HOME” Australian Heavy Rock & Metal Artist Unveils First Original Solo Single and Official Music Video Through Ribcage Records October 2, 2026 Australian heavy rock and metal artist Boris Billing officially launches his solo career today with the release of “I’m Coming Home,” his debut solo single and the first original song from his forthcoming debut album, released through Ribcage Records . Accompanied by an official music video, “I’m Coming Home” introduces Billing’s solo sound with a powerful, riff-driven statement inspired by the country he calls home. Rather than presenting a polished postcard image of Australia, the song embraces the full experience of the continent, from its rugged beauty and ancient landscapes to its unforgiving climate and dangerous wildlife. Fire, flood, brutal heat and breathtaking scenery all become part of the song’s identity, creating a musical love letter to a land defined as much by its extremes as its beauty. At the heart of “I’m Coming Home” is a massive rocking chorus built around the mysterious opening riff that first sparked the song’s creation. For Billing, the music itself immediately suggested the story he wanted to tell. BORIS BILLING ON “I’M COMING HOME” “The music told me what this song was about before I’d even written the lyrics. That mysterious intro riff opening into this massive rocking chorus just felt like home. I could see the landscape, and I knew immediately this was going to be my love letter to Australia. I didn’t want the postcard version. I wanted the beauty and the brutality — because that’s Australia to me. For my first original solo single, I’m Coming Home felt like the perfect place to start.” With “I’m Coming Home,” Billing begins a new chapter focused on his own songwriting, vision and musical identity. The single serves as the first glimpse into a forthcoming debut solo album that promises to expand on the heavy rock and metal foundations established with this opening statement. The official music video further brings the song’s Australian atmosphere to life, providing a visual counterpart to Billing’s tribute to the land, its extremes and the sense of belonging that inspired the track. “I’m Coming Home” is more than a song about returning to a familiar place. It is a celebration of Australia in all its contradictions: beautiful and brutal, ancient and alive, welcoming and unforgiving. For Boris Billing, it is where the solo journey begins. “I’M COMING HOME” Boris Billing Ribcage Records Released October 2, 2026 Debut Solo Single + Official Music Video Listen to “I’m Coming Home” and watch the official music video now. EGOKILLS UNLEASH THEIR FOURTH ALBUM, BRAINBANGER - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE EGOKILLS UNLEASH THEIR FOURTH ALBUM, BRAINBANGER Finnish Hard Rocking Metal Four-Piece Delivers Its Most Metal Album Yet TAMPERE, FINLAND | October 2, 2026 — Fifteen years into their journey, Finnish hard rocking metal band Egokills are ready to show the world what they have been building. Today, the Tampere-based four-piece officially releases Brainbanger , their fourth full-length album and their most unapologetically metal record to date. LISTEN TO BRAINBANGER: https://orcd.co/egokills-brainbanger Founded in Tampere in 2011, Egokills have released three previous albums and performed across 13 countries, developing a reputation for combining multi-layered alternative metal with hard-hitting heavy rock. Now, after years of writing, rehearsing, performing and building a new foundation, the band sees 2026 as a turning point. Brainbanger is the result. Driven by the chemistry of four musicians playing together in the same room, the album embraces the raw energy and physicality of traditional rock recording while drawing heavily from the metal and rock sounds of the 1990s. Rough around the edges by design, Brainbanger captures Egokills at their most direct, energetic and confident. “To us it is the essence of a rock band to play together in the same room, amps turned up and drums banging like hell, sweating and shredding. And having a f***ing good time! That’s exactly how Brainbanger came to life.” - Vilho Rajala, Egokills The album was produced, recorded and mixed by Juha Nevala , whose work with artists including Somehow Jo and Huora reflects a focus on capturing the authentic sound and character of a band. Recording took place at Lammaskallion Audio, Studio Pinni and Jii-Studio , with mastering handled by Jaakko Viitälahde at Virtalähde Mastering . For Egokills, the recording process was about getting away from the distractions of everyday life and focusing on the music. “It was definitely the right choice to retreat to this countryside studio away from normal life. We were able to focus better than ever before and we had fun,” explains guitarist Niko Viita-aho . Another major change in the band's evolution came in 2024, when Egokills officially became a four-piece after years of experimenting with different lineups. The new lineup also brought a significant change to the band's frontman. Vocalist Janne Selo picked up the guitar, helping open a new creative chapter for Egokills. “When I started playing, I instantly felt about twenty years younger. Then the songs started flowing,” Selo says. That renewed creative energy can be heard throughout Brainbanger , an album rooted in honesty, confidence and the search for light in a world that can often feel overwhelmingly dark. The band's lyrics explore themes of keeping an open mind, building confidence through honesty and finding that pale light, whether it is real or not. Musically, Egokills draw from the intensity of classic heavy metal and hard rock while retaining the alternative edge that has shaped the band's identity. The result is a record built for loud speakers, turned-up amplifiers and live rooms. And after years of preparation, Egokills are ready to bring Brainbanger home. The official album release show will take place October 9, 2026, at Bar Kotelo in Tampere, Finland , with We Are Still joining the band as support. Brainbanger is released worldwide through Mellowhead Creations Ltd. The album is available digitally, as well as on black vinyl and CD , with exclusive merchandise available through the official Egokills shop. Worldwide shipping is handled by Backstage Rock Shop. Today, the band has unleashed “Scourge Awakened,” the first single from its upcoming second full-length album, The Hammer of Conquest , through an exclusive premiere with No Clean Singing . Written by Islander , the No Clean Singing premiere welcomes Sinistrum to the publication's pages for the first time and describes “Scourge Awakened” as a “pulse-pounding, soul-shuddering, and quite quickly addictive sign of what The Hammer of Conquest brings to the table.” The review continues: “The awakening of this musical scourge isn’t a gradual dawning of violence but an immediate explosion of maniacal viciousness.” Islander also highlights the track's full-throttle drumming, aggressive tremolo riffing, dual-guitar attack, vicious vocals, groove-driven passages, and blazing guitar work, ultimately calling it an “infectious and riff-packed introduction to this new album.” “Scourge Awakened” serves as the first official taste of The Hammer of Conquest , which will be released November 13, 2026 through Remorseless Records . CD, cassette, and vinyl editions will be available through Remorseless Records, with digital and vinyl pre-orders also available through Sinistrum's Bandcamp. Originally forged by members of Kentucky's extreme metal underground, Sinistrum features lead vocalist and drummer Scott Briggs , guitarist and vocalist Timmie Ball , guitarist and vocalist Matthew Smith , and bassist Mike May . The lineup brings years of experience from acts including Fornicus and Kentucky death metal veterans Abominant , combining old-school heaviness with a vicious blackened edge. Sinistrum first emerged in 2022 with the three-song demo/EP Trichotomy of Death . The band followed it with its debut full-length, Infernal Dawn , released in February 2024 through Adirondack Black Mass and Morbid and Miserable Records . Following lineup changes, the band regrouped with Matthew Smith joining on guitar and vocals while Scott Briggs took over drum duties in addition to continuing as the band's lead vocalist. Over the following two years, Sinistrum meticulously crafted The Hammer of Conquest , taking the foundation established on Infernal Dawn and pushing it further into darker and more extreme territory. The result is an album forged in chaos, darkness, violence, and relentless riff-driven aggression , bringing together the crushing weight of death metal with the cold savagery of black metal and the raw energy of thrash. “Scourge Awakened” immediately throws the listener into that sonic world, exploding into a barrage of hammering drums, aggressive tremolo-picked guitars, savage vocals, and tightly locked riffing before shifting into heavier groove-driven passages and blazing guitar solos. The album features all-new material written and performed by Sinistrum , with the sole exception of “Flag of Hate,” the band's rendition of the classic Kreator track. Timmie Ball handles vocals on the song, while Scott Briggs delivers lead vocals and drums throughout the remainder of the album. The album's artwork was created by Johny Prayogi , with the band's logo and sigil designed by Gragoth . Album photography was provided by Brandon McQueen , with EPK photography by Brett Griffeth . Sinistrum recorded, mixed, and mastered the album themselves, with Scott Briggs handling production, recording, mixing, and mastering. On October 1, the scourge has awakened. The legend of Cronos will never die.” For generations of metal musicians and fans, those words carry enormous weight. Because the music Cronos helped create is not going anywhere. THE SOUND THAT CHANGED THE DIRECTION OF METAL VENOM formed in Newcastle, England, in 1978 and eventually settled into the classic lineup of Conrad “Cronos” Lant on vocals and bass, Jeff “Mantas” Dunn on guitar and Tony “Abaddon” Bray on drums. Together, they created a sound that pushed heavy metal toward something faster, harsher and more extreme. Their 1981 debut album, Welcome to Hell, immediately established VENOM as something very different from the polished hard rock and heavy metal dominating much of the era. Then came Black Metal in 1982. The album's title would eventually become the name of an entire genre. VENOM's music became a major influence on the development of black metal, while the band's aggressive approach also helped pave the way for the rise of thrash and later extreme metal. AllMusic describes VENOM's influence on the subsequent thrash scene and notes that Black Metal ultimately lent its name to the genre. That is an extraordinary legacy for any band. And Cronos was at the center of it. WELCOME TO HELL VENOM's first four studio albums with the classic trio remain central to the band's history: Welcome to Hell — 1981 Black Metal — 1982 At War With Satan — 1984 Possessed — 1985 Those records helped establish the foundation for the band's reputation and influence. The music was raw and aggressive. The production was abrasive. The imagery was deliberately dark and provocative. VENOM didn't sound like a band interested in smoothing off the rough edges. That approach resonated with musicians who were looking for something heavier. Cronos' bass and unmistakable vocals became a defining part of that sound. His voice wasn't designed to be pretty. It was designed to be heard. And decades later, it still is. A NAME THAT BECAME A GENRE There are few moments in music history where a band's album title becomes the name of an entire musical movement. Black Metal was one of those moments. The influence of VENOM's early work spread throughout the underground metal world, particularly among musicians who would go on to develop the first waves of black metal and other forms of extreme metal. Cronos himself later discussed the impact of VENOM on the emerging Norwegian black metal scene, including bands such as Mayhem and Burzum, and reflected on how hearing that music helped him reconsider what VENOM represented. The influence wasn't limited to black metal. VENOM's music became an important part of the lineage leading into thrash metal as well. Metal bands that followed took elements of VENOM's speed, aggression and attitude and pushed them in their own directions. Metallica, Slayer, Celtic Frost, Mayhem and Behemoth are among the bands and artists that have been associated with VENOM's influence. That chain of influence continues to this day. CRONOS KEPT THE FIRE BURNING VENOM's history was complicated. There were lineup changes, periods of separation and different incarnations of the band over the decades. But Cronos remained the central figure in the version of VENOM that continued recording and performing into the modern era. In 2026, VENOM released Into Oblivion, the band's sixteenth studio album. Cronos remained heavily involved in the record, handling vocals and bass while also receiving songwriting and arrangement credits. Official album information also credits him as producer and composer on tracks from the record. The album arrived more than four decades after Welcome to Hell. That alone says something about the endurance of the music. While entire musical movements rose and fell around him, Cronos continued making VENOM records. As recently as August 2026, Louder published a feature interview with Cronos discussing his life, music and the release of Into Oblivion. Now, only weeks later, that interview becomes part of his final chapter. MORE THAN A VOICE Cronos' contribution to VENOM went beyond performing. He was involved in the band's songwriting and creative direction, and his work extended into the visual identity surrounding VENOM as well. The band's imagery became just as recognizable as its music, helping establish the dark aesthetic that would become deeply associated with extreme metal. On Into Oblivion, Cronos is officially credited with bass, vocals, songwriting, lyrics and arrangements. That creative involvement stretched across decades. He wasn't simply the person standing behind the microphone. He was one of the people who helped define what VENOM was. THE LEGACY OF CRONOS It is difficult to measure the influence of a musician solely through record sales, chart positions or awards. Sometimes the better measurement is what happens afterward. How many bands formed because somebody heard Black Metal? How many guitarists picked up an instrument after discovering Welcome to Hell? How many musicians decided they wanted to make something heavier, darker and more extreme? That's where Cronos' legacy becomes enormous. VENOM helped show musicians that heavy metal didn't have to remain within established boundaries. It could become something uglier. Something faster. Something more extreme. Something completely its own. The generations that followed took that idea and ran with it. Black metal. Thrash metal. Death metal. Extreme metal in countless forms. The music evolved, but the fingerprints of VENOM remained. And at the center of those early recordings was Cronos. THE LEGION CARRIES ON In its announcement, VENOM thanked the Legions who supported the band through the decades. Those fans are an important part of the story. They bought the records. They went to the shows. They wore the shirts. They passed the music to their friends. They formed bands. They introduced another generation to VENOM. That's how heavy metal survives. Not because the musicians live forever, but because the music keeps getting passed down. A kid discovers Black Metal decades after its release. That kid starts a band. Someone hears that band. They start another band. The chain continues. And somewhere in that chain, there will always be VENOM. There will always be Cronos. THANK YOU, CRONOS There are musicians who make great records. There are musicians who influence their peers. And then there are musicians whose work becomes part of the foundation upon which an entire generation of music is built. Cronos belongs in that conversation. He helped create the sound and identity of VENOM during one of the most important periods in heavy metal history. He helped produce records that would influence black metal, thrash and extreme metal for decades. And he continued carrying that legacy forward until the very end of his career. The man is gone. The music isn't. The records aren't. The influence isn't. And the Legions aren't going anywhere. Metal Devastation Radio extends our deepest condolences to Nathan, Hel, Cronos' family, friends, bandmates, and the VENOM Legions around the world. Thank you, Conrad. Thank you, Cronos. Thank you for the music. Thank you for the noise. Thank you for helping make heavy metal what it is today. REST IN PEACE, CONRAD “CRONOS” LANT. THE LEGEND LIVES ON. ESSENTIAL VENOM LISTENING Welcome to Hell — 1981 Black Metal — 1982 At War With Satan — 1984 Possessed — 1985 Calm Before the Storm — 1987 Cast in Stone — 1997 Resurrection — 2000 Metal Black — 2006 Hell — 2008 Fallen Angels — 2011 From the Very Depths — 2015 Storm the Gates — 2018 Into Oblivion — 2026 REST IN PEACE, CRONOS. SOUL REBORN Unleashes Crushing Death Metal/Deathcore Album Cerebro - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SOUL REBORN Unleashes Crushing Death Metal/Deathcore Album Cerebro After an 18-Year Hiatus From Guitar, Stefano Pelosi Returns to His Instrument With a One-Man Project Built on Passion, Brutality, and a Lifetime of Metal ITALY — October 1, 2026 — Italian death metal/deathcore project SOUL REBORN has officially unleashed its new full-length album, Cerebro , available worldwide today, October 1, 2026. Built around crushing riffs, punishing rhythms, and an uncompromising extreme-metal approach, Cerebro is the work of Stefano Pelosi , who handled the music, lyrics, guitars, bass, drum programming, recording, mixing, and artwork for the album. The only exception is the vocal performance, provided by Gonzalo Viviani . The album represents the return of Pelosi to the guitar after an 18-year absence. His relationship with music began with legendary rock acts including Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd , before discovering thrash metal, groove metal, and death metal at the age of 14. Those heavier influences would remain with him for life. After putting the guitar down at the age of 25, Pelosi eventually picked it back up nearly two decades later with a new goal: to write and produce his own music. That journey ultimately became Soul Reborn . “This album is special because it is the work of a single person, with the exception of the singer, and represents my passion for music.” That passion is at the heart of Cerebro . Rather than being the product of a traditional full-band lineup, the album is a deeply personal creative statement, with Pelosi responsible for virtually every musical and production element. Gonzalo Viviani's vocals complete the project's brutal sonic attack, while mastering by Ilarion Ivanenko brings the finished album across the line. Sonically, Soul Reborn sits firmly in the territory of modern death metal and deathcore, combining crushing guitar work, aggressive rhythms, programmed drums, and harsh vocals into a relentless full-length. Fans of Slaughter to Prevail, Cattle Decapitation, and Decapitated should find plenty to explore throughout Cerebro . For Pelosi, however, Soul Reborn is about more than genre. It is the continuation of a relationship with music that began decades ago and survived an 18-year break from the guitar. His philosophy is simple: the music represents his ideas, his passion, and a love for metal that never went away. Cerebro is out now worldwide. Inspired first by classic rock before discovering thrash, groove, and death metal as a teenager, Pelosi spent years away from the guitar before returning to write and produce his own music. With Pelosi handling nearly every aspect of the musical and production process and Gonzalo Viviani providing vocals, Soul Reborn is a deeply personal project built around one musician's ideas, influences, and enduring passion for metal. SECOND BRAIN ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM BLACKSHINE FOR DECEMBER 10, 2026 - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SECOND BRAIN UNLEASH NEW SINGLE "ABOVE AND BELOW" AHEAD OF UPCOMING ALBUM BLACKSHINE Rome's Dark Thrash / Progressive Metal Trio Reveal First Taste of Their New Chapter With Atmospheric New Single and Official Visualizer For Fans Of: Coroner, Kreator, Melechesh ROME, ITALY — Rome's Second Brain have officially unleashed "Above and Below," the first single from their upcoming third full-length album, Blackshine , due for independent release on December 10, 2026 . Marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Italian trio, "Above and Below" captures Second Brain's distinctive collision of dark thrash and death metal riffing, atmospheric synths, progressive rock elements, and an eclectic melodic sensibility. The single offers the first full glimpse into Blackshine , an album built around contrast, complexity, and the dichotomous nature of reality. LISTEN TO "ABOVE AND BELOW" Stream / Listen: https://ditto.fm/blackshine WATCH THE OFFICIAL VISUALIZER "Above and Below" Official Visualizer: The accompanying visualizer expands upon the dark and atmospheric character of the track, providing a visual introduction to the world Second Brain have created around Blackshine . Originally formed in Rome in 2010 by guitarist, vocalist, and programmer Agravain alongside co-vocalist Lala Gabarth , Second Brain released their debut album, Synthesis , in 2014. The band expanded its lineup with bassist Anagoor , drummer Mishu, and rotating lead guitarists before making their live debut in 2015. A series of performances throughout central Italy followed through 2018. In January 2020, Second Brain released their second full-length, The Mind Awakes . The album was followed almost immediately by a hiatus brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. By late 2023, Agravain, Anagoor, and Gabarth had reformed Second Brain as a three-piece, using the opportunity to refine their musical identity and develop a new body of material. That evolution ultimately became Blackshine . The forthcoming album explores the dichotomous nature of reality , pairing aggressive and intricate metal foundations with atmospheric textures and progressive arrangements. Rather than confining themselves to a single stylistic lane, Second Brain embrace contrast as a fundamental part of their identity, moving between dark and forceful riffing, melodic passages, electronic atmosphere, and expansive progressive territory. "With Blackshine, we feel we've created an album that truly captures Second Brain's diverse and complex artistic identity. It's dark, eclectic, melodic yet powerful. It's a statement about who we are as a band and marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter." The album was mixed and mastered by Alex Ecker at Pearlsound Studio in Germany , with Ecker also contributing additional drum arrangements. The striking cover artwork comes from renowned visionary artist Costin Chioreanu , whose work has become closely associated with the darker and more experimental corners of the international metal scene. With "Above and Below," Second Brain begin the road toward Blackshine , introducing a record that reflects both the band's history and its evolution into its current three-piece incarnation. The full album, Blackshine , will arrive independently on December 10, 2026 . HXTXD Unleashes Ambitious 20-Track Double Album The Hour Between Dog and Wolf - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE HXTXD Unleashes Ambitious 20-Track Double Album The Hour Between Dog and Wolf Los Angeles Metal Trio Delivers Its Most Expansive and Emotionally Charged Release Yet LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles metal trio HXTXD (pronounced Hated) has officially unleashed its ambitious new double-disc album, The Hour Between Dog and Wolf , released August 21, 2026 via Riot Ready Records . Spanning 20 tracks, the sprawling new release represents the band's most expansive and fully realized work to date, pushing the boundaries of its sound while maintaining the raw aggression, emotional weight, and underground authenticity that have defined HXTXD since its formation. Formed in Los Angeles in 2020, HXTXD emerged from the chaos with a simple goal: make heavy music that hits as hard emotionally as it does physically. Featuring Wesley Richards on vocals and guitar, Staxx Tightsey on bass, and Cash Monty on drums, the trio draws from metal, melodic death metal, hard rock, metalcore, and hardcore without allowing itself to become trapped by any single genre. On The Hour Between Dog and Wolf , those influences collide in a record that embraces both brutality and atmosphere. Crushing riffs, aggressive rhythms, emotionally charged melodies, and moments of unexpected clarity create a dynamic listening experience built around contrast. The album's title reflects that very idea. The Hour Between Dog and Wolf refers to the uncertain space between light and darkness, instinct and reason, violence and vulnerability. HXTXD uses that liminal concept as a foundation for an album that explores alienation, resilience, despair, catharsis, and the human instinct to fight back. Rather than simply delivering one relentless barrage of heaviness, HXTXD allows the music to breathe, shift, and evolve. The result is an album that can be savage one moment and deeply reflective the next, finding common ground between bone-crushing intensity and genuine emotional songwriting. " The Hour Between Dog and Wolf is our most expansive and fully realized work to date," says Wesley Richards . "We wanted to push the sound into new territory without losing the rawness, grit, and authenticity that have defined HXTXD from the beginning." The entire album was written, engineered, produced, mixed, and artworked by Wesley Richards at Riot Ready Records in Los Angeles, California. Mastering was handled by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege in Portland, Oregon. With years of underground experience behind them and a growing reputation for intense live performances, HXTXD continues to carve out its own space within the West Coast metal scene. The band proudly wears its influences on its sleeve while transforming them into something distinctly its own. For listeners drawn to the aggression of Cannibal Corpse , the melodic intensity of modern extreme metal, the raw energy of hardcore, and the emotional punch of metalcore, HXTXD offers something that refuses to sit neatly inside a box. The Hour Between Dog and Wolf is more than a collection of heavy songs. It is a record about existing in the space between extremes, where chaos becomes catharsis and darkness can become its own form of clarity. HXTXD is: Wesley Richards — Vocals / Guitar Staxx Tightsey — Bass Cash Monty — Drums The Hour Between Dog and Wolf Artist: HXTXD Release: The Hour Between Dog and Wolf Format: Double-Disc Album / 20 Tracks Release Date: August 21, 2026 Label: Riot Ready Records Location: Los Angeles, California Check them out on YouTube:  The Hour Between Dog and Wolf by HXTXD Listen & Follow https://linktr.ee/RiotReady Contact Wesley Richards Riot Ready Records info@riotreadyrecords.com HXTXD — The Hour Between Dog and Wolf Twenty tracks. THRENODY RETURNS TO THE FILTH WITH NEW SINGLE “FLASHLIGHT OVER FILTH” - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE THRENODY RETURNS TO THE FILTH WITH NEW SINGLE “FLASHLIGHT OVER FILTH” Old-School Death Metal Veterans Unleash the First Taste of Upcoming EP They Looked Better Dead Release Date: August 19, 2026 Genre: Old-School Death Metal / Grindcore For Fans Of: Bolt Thrower, Carcass, Death READING, PA — Some bands form. Some bands disappear. And some refuse to stay dead. Old-school death metal veterans Threnody have unleashed “Flashlight over Filth,” the first single from their forthcoming EP They Looked Better Dead . Released August 19, 2026, the track marks the latest chapter in a story that began nearly four decades ago in the underground of Reading, Pennsylvania. In 1988 , five young musicians from Berks County, Pennsylvania, joined forces with a singular purpose: to create music capable of devastating everything in its path. Todd handled the microphone, Rich took command of the drums, Bill and Sean wielded guitars, and Dave held down the bass. Together, they became Threnody . Initially influenced by underground gods including Carcass, Entombed, and Obituary , the band quickly moved beyond imitation, developing its own identity and establishing itself as a formidable force in the Reading metal scene. For nearly two years, Threnody sharpened its attack from the top of the local underground, eventually unleashing the six-song EP Internal Infestation in late 1990. The release ignited a demand for live performances, sending the band into a relentless campaign of shows and further honing its lethal sound. Their proving ground was Unisound , Reading's only all-ages club at the time, where Threnody continued building its reputation among the underground faithful. The band began writing more material and recorded another EP, but before that next chapter could be released, fate intervened. The record remained unreleased, and the original members eventually went their separate ways. Then came 2020. During the global pandemic, guitarist Bill set out to reignite the torch and reunite Threnody's original members. Founding members Sean and Dave returned, while vocalist Todd and drummer Rich were unable to participate. With the world locked down and distance becoming little more than a technical obstacle, Harry from the UK and David from Ecuador joined the resurrected lineup on vocals and drums. Rather than simply dusting off the past, Threnody took eight songs originally written more than 30 years earlier and re-visioned them for a new era. The result was the band's first full-length album, Rid of Flesh . Now Threnody is moving forward once again. “Flashlight over Filth” serves as the first single from the upcoming EP They Looked Better Dead , delivering another dose of the band's old-school death metal and grindcore attack. The track was produced by Threnody , with mixing and mastering handled by Steve Perrino . This isn't nostalgia dressed up as death metal. This is a band that was there when the underground was being built, disappeared, came back decades later, and decided it still wasn't finished. The riffs are still loaded. The filth is still there. And the torch is still burning. Let it rip. STREAM “FLASHLIGHT OVER FILTH” https://linktr.ee/threnody ABOUT THRENODY Formed in 1988 in Reading, Pennsylvania, Threnody emerged from the formative underground death metal scene of the late 1980s. Influenced initially by Carcass, Entombed, and Obituary, the band quickly forged its own identity and became a force in the local scene. In 1990, Threnody released the six-song EP Internal Infestation and built a reputation through relentless live performances, including shows at Reading's legendary all-ages venue Unisound. A second EP was recorded but never released before the original members eventually went their separate ways. Three decades later, guitarist Bill began the process of resurrecting the band. With Sean and Dave returning and Harry from the UK and David from Ecuador joining on vocals and drums, Threnody transformed eight songs originally written in the early 1990s into the 2020 full-length Rid of Flesh . Now the band continues that resurrection with its forthcoming EP They Looked Better Dead and its first single, “Flashlight over Filth.” Threnody isn't looking to recreate the past. Rock Hard describes surrendering to Flight Of Odin's doom soundscapes as entering "fog-drenched moors" populated by ethereal and elusive entities. The review praises the band's syncopated pacing, dreamlike and psychedelic atmosphere, melodic sensibility, experimental passages, and especially the near-constant presence of piano within their sound. At the center of it all is Xyra's warm and magnetic vocal performance, which Rock Hard says provides a faint sense of comfort within the band's otherwise shadowy musical world. The magazine describes Flight Of Odin's music as captivating, enchanting, visionary, ecstatic, and ritualistic. FLIGHTOFODIN.NET I Traveled the Crooked Path by Flight of Odin PAINDEMIC REWRITING HISTORY California heavy metal outfit PainDemic are featured in an in-depth interview with bassist Gary Monardo and vocalist Rob Perkins , discussing the band's origins, musical direction, lineup, songwriting, and debut single FWF , short for Fuck With Fate . Gary explains that the band was formed around a desire to bring back a heavy metal sound built around powerful riffs while retaining memorable melodies. The band's influences reach back to the era when Metallica, Anthrax, and Slayer were exploding onto the scene. The interview also explores the chemistry between veteran members and guitarist Cheyenne Scott , whose energy, work ethic, and different approach helped shape the band's current lineup. Gary explains that while his earlier work with Hirax focused heavily on speed, PainDemic is taking a different approach, emphasizing heavier riffs, tempo changes, transitions, and carefully constructed arrangements. Rob discusses the personal experiences behind FWF , while also explaining the band's commitment to authenticity and creating music that translates naturally to the live stage. FACEBOOK.COM/PAINDEMIC FWF by Paindemic NOTHING SACRED THE ROAR OF OLD LIONS Australian heavy metal veterans Nothing Sacred are featured in an extensive interview discussing their decades-long history, the current resurgence of classic heavy metal, their latest single Your Time Will Come , and their decision to revisit Black Sabbath's Am I Going Insane . The band makes it clear that despite more than four decades of history, their motivation remains essentially unchanged: writing and playing the kind of heavy music they genuinely love. Sham discusses the importance of avoiding becoming a shadow of the band's former self, while Karl reflects on how the group's approach to the music industry has changed over the years. The interview also explores the inspiration behind Your Time Will Come , a song centered around someone refusing to compromise what they believe is right. And when it comes to their Black Sabbath cover, Sham explains why Am I Going Insane was one of the rare Sabbath classics they felt could be transformed without sacrificing the original song's character. The band also reflects on touring abroad and the financial realities that have shaped their career. NOTHING SACRED. THE ROAR OF OLD LIONS STILL HAS TEETH. NOTHING SACRED.COM.AU Leviathan by Nothing Sacred SYMPHONY OF DESTINY ON THE BANKS OF THE NILE American symphonic metal act Symphony Of Destiny are featured in an interview centered around their debut release Heroes Of Egypt and the band's unique combination of heavy metal, classical composition, cinematic orchestration, and ancient Egyptian mythology. Composer and guitarist Wesley Eldridge discusses how the members' classical training has been translated into the band's metal sound, combining cinematic orchestration, dynamic songwriting, seven-string guitars, and instrumental technique. The interview explores the band's carefully planned artistic direction, which was built around mythology and ancient civilizations from the project's earliest stages. Eldridge also discusses his fascination with ancient Egypt, including the musical atmospheres associated with film soundtracks, and explains how he and vocalist Anne Dueweke researched the original myths behind figures including Ra, Bastet, and Horus . Rather than simply retelling ancient stories, the band approaches each song from a different perspective, connecting mythology with modern emotions and experiences. SYMPHONYOFDESTINY.COM Heroes of Egypt by Symphony of Destiny ANTANIA THE UNHOLY 33 | Rating: 7/10 California electronic extreme metal duo Antania round out the Metal Devastation PR coverage with a 7/10 review for The Unholy 33 . Rock Hard highlights the project's unconventional approach, built entirely from synths, distortion, programmed drum machines, and vocals, with no guitars or bass. The album combines extreme metal with industrial electronics, oppressive atmospheres, blast beats, mid-tempo passages, and excursions into electronic styles including drum 'n' bass. Rock Hard notes that traditional songwriting structures are deliberately avoided, creating a challenging listening experience that demands patience while offering plenty for listeners interested in the intersection of extreme metal and industrial electronics. https://linktr.ee/antaniaofficial METAL DEVASTATION PR CONTINUES TO BREAK THROUGH From a 9/10 Self-Production Of The Month for Flight Of Odin to strong reviews for The Prodigal Son, Darkwave, Carceral, AntiMozdeBeast, and Antania, plus major interview features for PainDemic, Nothing Sacred, and Symphony Of Destiny, the new issue of Rock Hard Magazine represents another major round of international exposure for Metal Devastation PR artists. LOST RELICS RELEASE NEW EP MONUMENTS TO THE USELESS VIA GOLDEN ROBOT RECORDS - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE LOST RELICS RELEASE NEW EP MONUMENTS TO THE USELESS VIA GOLDEN ROBOT RECORDS Denver sludge and dirt rock trio unleash five tracks of crushing riffs, abrasive noise, and bleak atmosphere Denver, Colorado sludge and dirt rock heavyweights Lost Relics have officially released their new EP, Monuments to the Useless , worldwide via Golden Robot Records . Originally previewed by the singles “Saint Catharines” and “False Idols,” the five-track EP is now available in full on all major streaming platforms. Built from weight, tension, noise, and raw emotional pressure, Monuments to the Useless finds Lost Relics pushing their sound deeper into the darkness. The band combines abrasive sludge, noise, post-hardcore aggression, and dirt-soaked rock into something chaotic, punishing, and hypnotic all at once. Formed in 2018, Lost Relics have developed a distinctive three-vocalist attack that gives their music an unpredictable and confrontational edge. Their sound carries the crushing density of the underground while leaving plenty of room for hypnotic passages, atmosphere, and carefully constructed tension. Across Monuments to the Useless , the band moves between hypnotic desert rock passages and punishing sludge-driven intensity. Riffs, vocals, noise, and atmosphere constantly collide, creating a sense of pressure that builds throughout the release rather than simply relying on sheer volume. The EP draws inspiration from the bleak expansiveness of Neurosis , the raw experimental force of Melvins , and the abrasive urgency of KEN mode , while Lost Relics shape those influences into their own distinct sound. Lyrically, Monuments to the Useless explores disillusionment, aggression, pressure, and the quiet collapse of modern life. There is no attempt to polish away the ugliness or provide an easy escape. Instead, the band embraces the discomfort and lets the songs sit in the tension. “Saint Catharines” opens the door, while “False Idols” and the remaining tracks expand the EP's bleak and uncompromising atmosphere into a complete statement. Monuments to the Useless was recorded and mixed by Felipe Patino at Green Door Studios in Denver, Colorado, and mastered by Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado. The EP is available worldwide now through Golden Robot Records . FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CATHARIA TO UNLEASH NEW SINGLE “WINTER SOLSTICE” AHEAD OF NOVEMBER 2026 ALBUM PORTRAIT OF ANTIQUITY Melodic black metal force returns with a darker, more expansive sound featuring new permanent vocalist John Harrah and guest vocalist Kassandra Chandler of Divine Martyr For Fans Of: Dissection, Immortal, Satyricon CATHARIA is preparing to unleash its new single “Winter Solstice” next Friday, offering the first taste of the band's upcoming full-length album, Portrait of Antiquity , due for release in November 2026. The new single features John Harrah , Catharia's new permanent vocalist, alongside special guest vocalist Kassandra Chandler of Divine Martyr , adding another dimension to the band's evolving sound. Formed in 2018, Catharia has spent the years since its inception developing a sound rooted in the cold atmosphere and ferocity of black metal while incorporating the crushing weight of death metal and a strong emphasis on melody. With Portrait of Antiquity , the band expands that foundation into a darker, more melodic and symphonic direction. According to the band: “More melodic and symphonic then previous releases.” “Winter Solstice” serves as the first preview of that expanded musical approach, combining Catharia's established aggression and darkness with a greater emphasis on atmosphere, melody and symphonic elements. The upcoming album Portrait of Antiquity continues to push the band's melodic black metal and blackened death metal foundation into broader and more expansive territory. Drawing influence from the atmospheric intensity of classic melodic black metal and the relentless force of blackened death metal, Catharia aims to balance sweeping musical passages with uncompromising heaviness. Portrait of Antiquity is scheduled for release in November 2026 . While Catharia is currently signed with Rockshots , the album will be released independently. The album was produced and recorded with Jackson Ward at Strata Recording Studio , bringing a focused production approach to Catharia's evolving sound. With the arrival of “Winter Solstice,” Catharia begins the next chapter of its evolution, introducing a new permanent vocalist, welcoming a guest vocalist for the first single, and unveiling the darker and more expansive direction of Portrait of Antiquity . Gammacide Interview: Texas Thrash Legends Talk Toxic Mercenaries, Victims of Science and Their Return - @thebeast
Gammacide Interview: Texas Thrash Legends Talk Toxic Mercenaries, Victims of Science and Their Return Gammacide are back. On the latest episode of The Zach Moonshine Show, Joey, Rick, and Scott sit down with Zach to talk about the band's history, their return to the stage, the new album Toxic Mercenaries, and the renewed interest in their music from a younger generation of thrash metal fans. Gammacide formed in Texas in 1986 and released their debut album, Victims of Science , in the late 1980s/early 1990s era. More than three decades later, the band has returned with Toxic Mercenaries , their first new full-length album in more than 35 years. The album was released September 11, 2026 through No Life 'Til Metal Records, with a vinyl edition scheduled for October 30. During the interview, the band looked back at the road that brought them back together, talked about the reaction to their return, and explained how new material that was initially approached as rough demo recordings eventually became their new album. From Hell's Heroes to a Full Gammacide Return One of the major subjects of the conversation was Gammacide's reunion appearance at Hell's Heroes in Houston, Texas . What started as a return to the stage developed into something much bigger after the band experienced the reaction from the crowd. That response helped convince them to continue moving forward with Gammacide rather than treating the appearance as a one-time event. Rick summed up the band's long dormant period with one of the most memorable lines of the interview: "It just goes to show you that the effects of a nuclear meltdown sometimes last for years and years and years... the half-life on this shit is extreme." The band has since continued performing and has been met by audiences that include both longtime fans and younger listeners discovering Gammacide for the first time. A New Generation Is Discovering Gammacide One of the more surprising parts of the band's return has been the number of younger fans showing up to their shows. During the interview, Gammacide discussed meeting fans as young as 15 who discovered the band online while digging deeper into the history of thrash metal. For a band whose debut dates back more than three decades, that renewed interest from younger listeners has become an important part of the current Gammacide story. Rick described the experience this way: "When they find Gammacide, it's like, 'Well, this is the real hardcore, uncut, super-thrash for underground people.' They feel like they found a hidden gem of thrashtastic riffs and explosions." The band also talked about recent shows in Texas, Connecticut, and Mexico City and the response they have received from audiences along the way. The Story Behind Toxic Mercenaries The new Gammacide album Toxic Mercenaries is the band's first full-length release of new material in more than 35 years. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered through DDTstudio Productions and features Joey Gonzalez on drums, Rick Perry and Scott Shelby on guitars, Varnam Ponville on vocals, and Chance Lehman on bass. But according to the story told during the interview, the recording process wasn't originally designed around making a polished new Gammacide album. The band recorded the material at singer Varnam Palm Bill's house with David Treadway of DDT Studios. What began as a rough songwriting demo developed into something the band felt was strong enough to release. Scott explained why they decided not to try to recreate the recordings a second time: "It came out so good. Why do it twice? We may not catch that magic that we did when we did it the first time." That decision ultimately led to the material becoming Toxic Mercenaries . The album contains eight tracks, including "Overload," "Soldier of Fear," "Sinkhole," "Expiration Date," "Predator or Prey," "These Eyes," "Toxic Mercenaries," and "Meet Your Maker." Learning the Gammacide Catalog in Two Weeks The interview also touched on the band's current lineup and the challenge of getting a new member ready for live performances. Bass player Chance Lehman stepped in and had approximately two weeks to learn the Gammacide catalog ahead of the band's Mexico shows. The band also gave credit to booking agent Zach Oler of Extremity Retain Booking while discussing their recent live activity. It's another part of the practical side of bringing a classic underground band back into an active touring schedule. Victims of Science Gets a New Physical Release While Gammacide are looking forward with Toxic Mercenaries , their classic debut Victims of Science is also receiving renewed attention. No Life 'Til Metal Records has been involved with new physical editions of the band's catalog, including a remastered vinyl edition of Victims of Science released in July 2026. The edition was limited to 300 copies. The label is also handling the upcoming vinyl edition of Toxic Mercenaries , scheduled for October 30, 2026. The listed pressing is limited to 300 copies, with 100 "blood moon" red/black swirl copies and 200 "toxic" neon green copies. "You Thawed Out the Caveman" Gammacide's return after such a long period away naturally became one of the central themes of the conversation. Rick had another memorable way of describing it: "It's kind of like I always say... you thawed out the caveman. He'd been frozen for 40,000 years, they thaw him out, and Neanderthal man walks again." The band isn't simply looking backward, either. The conversation covered future plans, including prospective West Coast dates and Gammacide's scheduled appearance at Headbangers Open Air in Germany , which would mark the band's first European tour appearance. "The Kids Want a Circle Pit" For Gammacide, the connection between the band's music and the live environment remains central. Joey summed up what he sees happening with the band's younger audience: "The kids want a circle pit, and Gammacide is the quintessential circle-pit fucking band." Rick also compared today's crowds with those from the band's earlier years: "When you go to the shows today, you can't tell the difference between a crowd from 1989 and a crowd from today because they're dressed the exact same." It's a fitting observation for a band whose music has traveled from the tape-trading era into the digital age without losing its connection to the underground. Gamma-Mania And then there was Scott's Hulk Hogan-inspired message to the younger generation: "Let me tell you something, brother, about Gamma-Mania... You young kids, keep taking your vitamins and say your prayers, and listen to Gammacide if you want to make yourself a life." We'll let Scott take that one home. Listen To The Full Gammacide Interview The full conversation with Joey, Rick, and Scott of Gammacide is now available on The Zach Moonshine Show via Mixcloud, Spotify, Apple, Youtube. The band discusses the origins of Gammacide, Victims of Science , their return to the stage, the Hell's Heroes appearance, the creation of Toxic Mercenaries , the response from younger fans, touring, the band's current lineup, No Life 'Til Metal Records, and what comes next. Listen to the full interview and hear the story directly from Gammacide. FEARPARK ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE “KILLING MATCH” AHEAD OF DEBUT ALBUM THIS IS HOW YOU DIE - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FEARPARK ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE “KILLING MATCH” AHEAD OF DEBUT ALBUM THIS IS HOW YOU DIE German True and Melodic Speed Metal outfit FearPark set October 16 release date for first single from upcoming debut album For Fans Of: Blind Guardian, Helloween, Judas Priest, Defender Balingen, Germany | September 2026 The next generation of traditional heavy metal is coming out swinging from Balingen, Germany. FearPark have announced the October 16, 2026 release of “Killing Match,” the first single from their upcoming debut album, This Is How You Die , due later this year. Formed in 2022, FearPark have built their identity around True Metal, melodic speed metal, and old-school power metal , drawing heavily from the classic sound and spirit of the 1980s while bringing their own youthful energy to the formula. With influences ranging from Helloween, Blind Guardian, and Judas Priest to Iron Maiden and early Metallica, the five-piece delivers a combination of twin-guitar attack, driving riffs, melodic leads, soaring vocals, and classic heavy metal songwriting. And FearPark have wasted little time making their presence known. Just three shows into their existence, the band won a local band contest, earning them the opportunity to open the Wolfweez Open Air 2023 . The performance generated strong feedback from the attending crowd and helped establish FearPark as a band to watch within the local metal scene. “Powerful True Metal without unnecessary frills, but with clear influences from Iron Maiden and Blind Guardian, flows from the instruments of the five musicians from Balingen. Highly motivated and with astonishing dexterity, the guys fired up the first nearly 100 guests. Add to that a vocalist who plays to his strengths wonderfully.” - Tribe-Online Magazine FearPark continued building their live résumé with appearances alongside established acts including Vicious Rumors, Absolva, and Traitor , while also performing at Metal Night Tübingen and the Balingen Garden Show. In July 2024, the band opened the inaugural RVBang Festival in Balingen , once again earning positive reactions from the local metal community. Their first demo was recorded in fall 2023 and released on January 20, 2024, with the material mixed by Luke Appleton , formerly of Iced Earth. Metal Factory Magazine later described the band's sound as a blend of True Metal and strong '80s influences, highlighting FearPark's twin-guitar approach, Iron Maiden-inspired riffs, occasional early Metallica flavor, and touches of Power Metal. Since spring 2025, FearPark have been focused on writing and preparing the material that would become their first full-length album. Now, that work is ready to emerge. “Killing Match” will be released on Friday, October 16, 2026 at 12:00 AM CEST , marking the first step toward the band's debut full-length, This Is How You Die . A second single, “The Eagles Crest,” will follow at a later date, with the full album currently planned for release in late November or early December 2026. The album represents the culmination of several years of development for the young German band, combining their devotion to traditional heavy metal with the speed, melody, and epic songwriting associated with the classic European metal tradition. Production on This Is How You Die was handled entirely by FearPark alongside Heiko Irmscher of Noplies . Mixing and mastering were completed by a collaborator who has chosen to remain anonymous for the time being, with the band planning to credit him under a yet-to-be-revealed anagram. FearPark remain independent and self-managed, continuing to build their career on their own terms. With “Killing Match,” the band are ready to take the next step. FearPark are from Balingen. They play True Metal. And they're here to rule them all. RISING ALMA EARNS STRONG METAL HAMMER REVIEW FOR NEW EP “YOUR OWN STORY” - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RISING ALMA EARNS STRONG METAL HAMMER REVIEW FOR NEW EP “YOUR OWN STORY” Metal Hammer praises the Berlin-based alternative rock and melodic hard rock outfit, calling the EP “worth discovering” and declaring that Rising Alma is “a band that should be followed closely” Berlin, Germany — September 25, 2026 — Berlin-based alternative rock and melodic hard rock outfit Rising Alma are celebrating a major new piece of international media coverage following a detailed review of their latest EP, Your Own Story , in Metal Hammer . Published by Metal Hammer Spain and written by Marta Grimaldi, the August 16, 2026 feature takes an in-depth look at Rising Alma's five-song EP, released independently on July 24, while examining the band's development from their earlier alternative rock material toward a sound with an increasingly prominent hard rock and guitar-driven edge. The review highlights the band's current lineup featuring Alīse Elme on vocals and keyboards, Maximo Marset on guitar, arrangements and production, and Sebastian Rätz on bass. According to the review, Your Own Story demonstrates how Rising Alma are evolving while maintaining the melodic foundation that has defined their work. The article specifically praises the weight of the guitars, the band's vocal melodies, the use of keyboards to create contrasting passages, and the clear, modern production across the EP. The review takes a closer look at all five tracks, including the title track “Your Own Story,” which opens with what the reviewer describes as one of the EP's strongest riffs. Marset's guitar work receives particular attention, while Elme's clean vocal performance is praised for allowing the vocals and guitars to occupy their own space. “Underneath” is highlighted for its more intimate approach, with keyboards and vocals taking the forefront as Rising Alma explore themes of mourning and finding balance after loss. The review also singles out “Colors Flow All Around Us” for its memorable vocal melody and combination of heavier and more open passages, while “Authenticity” is noted for its darker guitar tone, prominent bass and subtle connection to Elme's Latvian roots. Closing the EP, “Endless” receives attention for its intimate opening, gradual build and the guitar solo from Maximo Marset. The production across the record is also recognized, with the review noting the clarity and definition of the individual instruments. Metal Hammer ultimately concludes that five songs are enough for Your Own Story to leave “a good taste in the mouth and wanting to hear it again,” describing the EP as “worth discovering” and Rising Alma as “a band that should be followed closely.” For an independent band continuing to build its international presence, the feature represents another significant step forward for Rising Alma and their growing catalog. METAL DEVASTATION RADIO AND PR SURPASS 30 MILLION VIEWS - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE METAL DEVASTATION RADIO AND PR SURPASS 30 MILLION VIEWS Independent Metal Platform Reaches Historic Milestone With More Than 30.2 Million Lifetime Views The milestone is official. Metal Devastation Radio and Metal Devastation PR have officially surpassed 30 million lifetime views , reaching an incredible 30,234,002 total views following another 305,524 views during August 2026 . After closing July at 29,928,478 lifetime views , Metal Devastation crossed the 30 million mark and continued climbing, marking one of the biggest milestones in the platform's history. Built independently from the ground up through a relentless commitment to heavy music, Metal Devastation has spent more than a decade connecting underground artists with listeners, media outlets, labels, promoters, festivals, and metal fans around the world. 30 million views. One independent platform. More than a decade of underground metal. 30 MILLION AND COUNTING August delivered another powerful month of growth for Metal Devastation, adding 305,524 views and bringing the platform's all-time total to: 30,234,002 VIEWS The August numbers also demonstrate just how far the platform's reach continues to expand: 305,524 total views 161,000 active users 160,000 new users 1.1 million tracked events 1.22 million Google Search impressions 11,600 Google Search clicks 30,234,002 lifetime views The growth from July to August pushed Metal Devastation from 29,928,478 views to 30,234,002 , adding more than 305,000 views in a single month . But the milestone isn't just about the number of views. It's about the people behind them. 160,000 NEW USERS DISCOVERED METAL DEVASTATION One of the biggest stories behind August's numbers was the platform's continued ability to reach people who were discovering Metal Devastation for the first time. Of the 161,000 active users recorded during August, approximately 160,000 were new users . That means thousands upon thousands of people who had never previously interacted with the platform were discovering Metal Devastation, its artists, its coverage, its radio programming, and its growing collection of underground metal content. Every new visitor represents another opportunity for an artist to be heard. Another band to be discovered. Another song to be played. Another interview to be read. Another metalhead to find something new. SEARCHING FOR METAL Google Search continues to be a major source of discovery for Metal Devastation. During August, the platform generated 1.22 million Google Search impressions , resulting in 11,600 clicks from search results . That means Metal Devastation content continues appearing in front of people actively searching for heavy music, bands, albums, interviews, reviews, news, festivals, and other metal-related content. For independent artists, that visibility matters. A band doesn't necessarily need a massive corporate machine behind it to be discovered. Sometimes it starts with a search. A story. A review. An interview. A premiere. A radio stream. A single click. And then another. 1.1 MILLION EVENTS IN ONE MONTH August also produced more than 1.1 million tracked events across the Metal Devastation platform. Those events represent the constant activity happening across the network, including content views, radio activity, clicks, submissions, artist engagement, and other interactions throughout the platform. Behind every statistic is something happening within the metal community. Someone discovering a band. Someone checking out a release. Someone listening to MDR. Someone reading an interview. Someone sharing an article. Someone finding their next favorite record. That's what the numbers represent. FROM THE UNDERGROUND TO 30 MILLION When Metal Devastation was built, the goal wasn't to create another corporate media machine. It was to create a platform where heavy music could exist on its own terms. Since its founding in 2013 , Metal Devastation Radio and Metal Devastation PR have continued building an independent ecosystem centered around underground metal. That includes: Metal Devastation Radio , delivering heavy music and programming to listeners worldwide Metal Devastation PR , providing promotional campaigns and media exposure for independent artists Artist interviews and original programming News, reviews, premieres, and feature coverage Support for independent labels and releases Worldwide media outreach Tennessee Metal Devastation Music Fest Continued partnerships with artists, promoters, labels, DJs, journalists, and metal media The platform has continued growing without losing sight of where it came from. The underground. FROM THE FRONTLINES "Thirty million views is absolutely fucking incredible," says Zach Moonshine . "When we started this, there was no giant corporation behind us, no major investor, and no industry machine pushing this thing forward. It was built because we love heavy music and we believed the underground deserved a platform that would keep showing up." "Looking at that number now, 30,234,002 views , it's hard to put into words. But what really matters to me isn't just the number itself. It's what happened inside that number." "Every one of those views represents somebody discovering something. A band. A song. An album. An interview. A festival. A radio show. Maybe even an artist that somebody had never heard before." "That's the whole reason we do this." BUILT BY THE METAL COMMUNITY Reaching 30 million views isn't something Metal Devastation claims as an achievement belonging to one person. FALSE MESSIAH CONTINUE INTERNATIONAL PRESS RUN WITH STRONG METALLIAN COVERAGE FOR “SEVEN” - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FALSE MESSIAH CONTINUE INTERNATIONAL PRESS RUN WITH STRONG METALLIAN COVERAGE FOR “SEVEN” Mysterious International Metal Project Featured Across Rock Hard Italy, Metalized, and Metallian September 24, 2026 — International modern symphonic metal project False Messiah continue to build momentum for their debut concept album Seven , with recent coverage appearing across respected metal publications in Europe. The latest comes from French metal magazine Metallian , where Seven receives a 💣💣💣💥½ review from François Alaouret. The review praises the project's seasoned musicianship, heavy and thrash influences, symphonic metal direction, powerful guest appearances from Stéphane Buriez of Loudblast and Craig Cairns of Tailgunner , and "flawless production." False Messiah are also featured in Underground N°30 , the underground and extreme metal supplement included with Metallian N°153. The new Metallian coverage follows an extensive Rock Hard Italy feature and interview centered on Seven . Rock Hard explores the project's deliberately concealed identities, its description as a "controlled creative entity," and the dystopian concept behind the album, which examines technology, artificial intelligence, social division, and concentrated power through speculative storytelling. Meanwhile, Metalized awarded Seven an 8/10 , with reviewer Kim Vestergaard Nielsen praising its aggressive riffs, powerful production, dark atmosphere, and combination of melodic black metal and brutal death metal. With coverage now spanning multiple European metal publications, False Messiah's Seven continues to introduce its dark, cinematic world to an international audience. “First release for this mysterious entity named False Messiah. What is known about the quartet boils down to the fact that it consists of musicians from France, Canada, Scandinavia, and Latin America. So, as for guessing their identities, you might as well look for a guitar pick on the site of Hellfest, even if a few clues reveal themselves if you dig deep enough. One thing is for sure, the members of False Messiah are more than seasoned, and their inspirations draw as much from heavy and thrash as from more modern styles. Moreover, with their female vocalist, it's symphonic metal that stands out most, even if Stéphane Buriez from Loudblast and Craig Cairns from Tailgunner drop in to deliver a few deep ‘growls.’ In the end, Seven is a sharp and unifying album with flawless production!” - Metallian Grab a copy of the issue here: https://www.magzter.com/FR/METALLIAN-Editions-SARL/METALLIAN/Culture/2477047 Seven is currently available via Semetry Records / Idol . RHINO PROOF ANNOUNCE NEW STUDIO ALBUM “LIGHT, DARK, THE END” AND RELEASE NEW SINGLE “PLAY BY THE RULES” - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RHINO PROOF ANNOUNCE NEW STUDIO ALBUM “LIGHT, DARK, THE END” AND RELEASE NEW SINGLE “PLAY BY THE RULES” Finnish Hard & Heavy Force Unleash First Single and Official Music Video Ahead of November Album Release via Astral Haven Records Joensuu, Finland | Finnish hard and heavy outfit Rhino Proof have officially announced their new studio album, Light, Dark, The End , set for release on November 6, 2026 , via Astral Haven Records . To celebrate the announcement, the band has unleashed the album’s first single, “Play by the Rules,” accompanied by an official music video. The track offers a hard-hitting introduction to the new album while showcasing the band’s blend of muscular hard rock, heavy metal, memorable melodies, and commanding vocals. Listen to “Play by the Rules”: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/rhinoproof/play-by-the-rules Watch the official music video: Guitarist Rane Riikonen explains the personal inspiration behind “Play by the Rules”: “When I was writing the song ‘Play by the Rules’, I thought back to my youth and the fact that I used to drink heavily. I often woke up on the floor and generally behaved badly. Fortunately, I realized how foolish I was being and started living sensibly.” Vocalist Jukka Nummi adds: “The song ‘Play by the Rules’ is one of my favorites; I use my voice a little rougher on it—or actually, the guys kind of pushed me to do that—and I’m glad they did, because it fits the song's vibe.” Light, Dark, The End represents a significant new chapter for Rhino Proof. The album takes shape as a conceptual release built around a four-part storyline , bringing together nine tracks that move through different moods and styles while maintaining a cohesive identity. Riikonen reflects on the lengthy and sometimes difficult process behind the album: “Making the new album was a difficult and lengthy process. At times, the work progressed well, but then difficulties began to pile up. Certain things also came to an end, and processing them took time. This entire experience ultimately became the album’s title.” For Nummi, the finished record represents a diverse but unified collection of songs: “The new album is truly fantastic overall, and while all the songs are distinct from one another, they still come together to form a cohesive whole. It ranges from heavy, pounding tracks to ballad-like interpretations. I’m proud of this album.” The vocal recording process also proved to be an especially creative period for the band. Nummi recalls beginning the lead vocal sessions in August of the previous year, with some songs still taking shape: “A year ago in August, we started recording the lead vocals. Even though half of the songs were completely new to me and we didn’t even have demo versions for all of them, we managed to record everything incredibly quickly, in two days! Creativity was at its peak, and the vocal melodies evolved as we recorded them.” The album will be released as a Digipak CD and digital release , with pre-orders and pre-saves available now through Astral Haven Records. Pre-order / Pre-save “Light, Dark, The End”: https://astralhavenrecords.com/cds/rhino-proof-light-dark-the-end-cd/ Light, Dark, The End Tracklist: Play by the Rules Deeper Form of Love Alone With My Sin Even Closer My Life is Fine Fashion Nonsense (CD Bonus Track) Strong Enough Shadows in the Rain Safe Cracker All songs were written by Rane Riikonen, with arrangements by Rhino Proof. The album was recorded and mixed by Erkko Joronen and produced by Riikonen and Joronen. Mastering was handled by Jone Väänänen. The visual identity of the album comes together through cover artwork by V-V Markkanen , CD and booklet artwork by NobotX , and photography by Markus Sotikov . Light, Dark, The End follows Rhino Proof’s previously released singles “My Life is Fine” and “Deeper Form of Love,” both of which have helped introduce the band’s latest chapter to listeners ahead of the full album. The release also builds on a growing run of international exposure for Rhino Proof. The band was recently featured in Decibel Magazine Issue #263 as part of a Metal Devastation Radio feature highlighting Rhino Proof alongside Hubris, Abaddon Incarnate, Haze Mage, Binary Order, Far From Refuge, Broken Trinity, and Choke Me. Their self-titled 2018 debut album earned critical attention across Europe and placed in the Top 5 of Hard Rock Highlights lists in both Italy and Portugal . Following several lineup changes, Rhino Proof now returns with a solidified lineup and a new album designed to capture the band's evolution. With Light, Dark, The End , the Finnish outfit delivers a narrative-driven record that moves between crushing heavy tracks, melodic passages, and ballad-like moments while maintaining the raw energy at the heart of their sound. The band is now preparing to bring Light, Dark, The End to listeners around the world through their partnership with Astral Haven Records. Riikonen states: “We are very excited to be working with Astral Haven Records. This partnership will give us the opportunity to reach more listeners from all over the world.” Rhino Proof Jukka Nummi – Vocals Rane Riikonen – Guitar Erkko Joronen – Guitar Pasi Nousiainen – Bass Sami Ratilainen – Drums Album Credits All songs written by Rane Riikonen Arrangements by Rhino Proof Recorded & mixed by Erkko Joronen Produced by Rane Riikonen & Erkko Joronen Mastered by Jone Väänänen Cover artwork by V-V Markkanen CD & booklet artwork by NobotX Band photo by Markus Sotikov Connect With Rhino Proof rhinoproof.com www.facebook.com/rhinoproof  “Play by the Rules” is out now. BLIND ILLUSION TO CELEBRATE NEW LIVE ALBUM WITH SAN FRANCISCO RECORD RELEASE SHOW - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BLIND ILLUSION TO CELEBRATE NEW LIVE ALBUM WITH SAN FRANCISCO RECORD RELEASE SHOW Progressive Thrash Metal Pioneers Bring STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre Home to the Bay Area on October 16 SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Nearly five decades after forming in the Bay Area, progressive thrash metal pioneers Blind Illusion will celebrate the release of their new live album, STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre , with a special record release show on Friday, October 16, 2026 , at Neck of the Woods in San Francisco, California . The release-day lineup will feature Blind Illusion, Hemotoxin, and Parabellum , bringing together three bands for an evening of Bay Area metal on the exact day STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre officially arrives through Hectic Records / Bleeding Priest Records . Fans attending the show will have the opportunity to pick up a copy of the new record directly from Blind Illusion , while those outside the San Francisco Bay Area can pre-order their copy through Hectic Records. Pre-order: www.hectic.com/product/blind-illusion-live A LIVE SNAPSHOT OF BLIND ILLUSION'S HISTORY STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre captures Blind Illusion's historic 2025 performance at the UC Theatre in Berkeley , featuring the return of original vocalist David White . The performance took place during a special Bay Area celebration surrounding Exodus' 40th anniversary of Bonded By Blood and the birthday of late Exodus frontman Paul Baloff , with Blind Illusion sharing the stage with Exodus, Death Angel, and Nukem . The performance ultimately became the foundation for the new live album. White's return gives the recording an especially significant connection to Blind Illusion's early history. During a recent appearance on The Zach Moonshine Show , guitarist and band mastermind Mark Biedermann discussed how White's return came about and how the band revisited material from its early years for the reunion performance. But STAGE FLIGHT isn't a studio reconstruction of an old performance. According to Biedermann, the album is a completely live recording with no studio overdubs , captured at the UC Theatre by engineer Ivan Garcia and subsequently mixed by Biedermann with the band's rhythm section. As Biedermann put it: "This, I guarantee you, is 100% live." That old-school approach makes STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre a document of the band exactly where it belongs: onstage. NEARLY FIVE DECADES OF BLIND ILLUSION Formed in 1978 , Blind Illusion has spent nearly five decades developing one of the most distinctive sounds in the Bay Area metal underground. Led by Mark Biedermann , the band's history is deeply connected to the development of progressive and technical thrash metal. The band's landmark 1988 debut, The Sane Asylum , featured Biedermann alongside Larry Lalonde, Les Claypool, and Mike Miner , producing a record that would become an important part of the progressive thrash canon. Biedermann's musical history extends well beyond Blind Illusion. His work has intersected with figures including Les Claypool, Kirk Hammett, Cliff Burton, Sandy Pearlman, Joe Satriani, and Robbie Krieger , among many others. During his recent appearance on The Zach Moonshine Show , Biedermann looked back across that history, discussing everything from the formation of Blind Illusion and the making of The Sane Asylum to his early relationship with Les Claypool, his work connected to Blue Öyster Cult's Imaginos , and an unforgettable story involving his longtime friend Cliff Burton. The conversation also made clear that Blind Illusion isn't simply revisiting its past. The band's next studio album, Crushing the Universe , has already been recorded, with former Blind Illusion bassist Tom Gears producing, engineering, and mixing the record. That makes STAGE FLIGHT both a look back at a remarkable chapter of Blind Illusion's history and a bridge toward whatever comes next. FROM THE UC THEATRE TO THE RECORD STORE The timing of the October 16 release is particularly fitting. STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre was born from a performance celebrating the Bay Area metal community and Blind Illusion's own history. Now the finished record returns home to the Bay Area for its official release. Friday, October 16, 2026 Neck of the Woods San Francisco, California BLIND ILLUSION HEMOTOXIN PARABELLUM Come out, celebrate the release with the band, and get your copy of STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre directly from Blind Illusion . Blabbermouth recently featured Blind Illusion's upcoming live album, highlighting the historic 2025 performance, David White's return, and the band's continuing evolution nearly five decades after its formation. BraveWords has also featured Blind Illusion ahead of the release, spotlighting STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre and the band's unique place within progressive thrash metal. Biedermann also recently joined The Zach Moonshine Show for an extensive conversation covering Blind Illusion's history, The Sane Asylum , David White, Les Claypool, Kirk Hammett, Cliff Burton, Sandy Pearlman, Blue Öyster Cult, Hectic Records, the new STAGE FLIGHT live album, and the band's upcoming Crushing the Universe studio record. WARPLAN PREPARES TO UNLEASH NEW EP “NOT OF THIS WORLD” IN LATE 2026 - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE WARPLAN PREPARES TO UNLEASH NEW EP “NOT OF THIS WORLD” IN LATE 2026 Louisville Groove Metal and Hard Rock Project Returns With a Powerful New Chapter Featuring Unreleased Material Co-Written by David “Sailor” Bryant and Days of the New Frontman Travis Meeks LOUISVILLE, KY — Louisville, Kentucky’s independent groove metal and hard rock project Warplan is preparing to return with its highly anticipated follow-up EP, Not of This World , currently in production for a late 2026 release. Driven by the fierce creative vision of vocalist, songwriter, guitarist, and bassist David “Sailor” Bryant , Warplan was created as a vehicle for pushing the boundaries of heavy music while maintaining the grit and attitude of classic metal and hard rock. Bryant brings a deep musical pedigree to the project through his work with regional underground staples including My Own Victim, Surviving Thalia, Scars of Judas, and Sixteen Bones . Warplan officially breached the heavy music scene on Halloween 2023 with its debut studio EP, The Snake-Eye Conspiracy . Produced by Nashville’s Kile Odell and featuring aggressive, driving instrumentation from Jameson Force , the release established Warplan's identity as a force in modern groove metal. The EP featured standout tracks including “Unmerciful,” which included contributions from Bryan Fox, along with “An Act Against Creation” and “Deadman’s Hand.” Now, Warplan is moving into its next chapter with Not of This World . For the upcoming EP, Bryant has expanded Warplan's geographic and creative borders, bringing Netherlands-based guitarist Denise De Haan into the production to inject fresh energy into a profoundly unique collection of songs. At the heart of the new material is an unusual piece of Warplan history. The songs originated during a creative collaboration that began in 2002 , when Bryant worked alongside Travis Meeks , the frontman of the multi-platinum rock band Days of the New . The material was originally intended to be released under the name Not of This World , but will now officially become part of Warplan's catalog as the project's follow-up EP. Bryant and Meeks co-wrote the material, creating a collection of songs that has remained unreleased for more than two decades. The recordings are now being revisited, developed, and completed for their long-awaited official unveiling under the Warplan banner. The expanded creative team also includes Louisville's David Kisselbaugh and Corey Ogle , adding further depth to a project that bridges multiple eras and corners of heavy music. Musically, Warplan delivers a crushing, multi-dimensional sonic assault. The project strikes a rare balance between raw aggression and intricate melody, drawing foundational inspiration from heavy metal titans including Pantera, Down, Slayer, Metallica, and System of a Down . Warplan's sound combines classic groove metal arrangements with modern textures and haunting Middle Eastern elements, creating an avant-garde soundscape that remains intensely familiar while pushing into more progressive territory. The upcoming EP features songs including “Banned from the Program,” “Peel Your Face,” and “No Time,” further establishing Warplan's uncompromising approach to heavy music. Production on Not of This World is currently underway, with additional recording and post-production continuing toward a late 2026 release . Production and engineering duties are being handled by David “CT” Carpenter and David “Sailor” Bryant , with post-production mixing to be handled by a Nashville, Tennessee producer to be named at a later date , whose production credits include work with heavy metal acts Fear Factory and Full Devil Jacket . More than two decades after the material was first conceived, Warplan is bringing Not of This World into the present, transforming a long-unreleased chapter of Bryant's musical history into the next official release from the project. Warplan is not looking backward. It is bringing the past forward and turning it into something new. ASHES REIGN SLOW IT DOWN WITH NEW SINGLE “START OF THE END” - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ASHES REIGN SLOW IT DOWN WITH NEW SINGLE “START OF THE END” Charlottesville Metal Act Unveils a More Melodic and Emotionally Charged Side Ahead of Debut Album Awakening Charlottesville, Virginia | Rising metal act Ashes Reign have released their latest single, “Start of the End,” offering a slower, more introspective counterpart to the crushing aggression showcased on the band's previously released title track from their upcoming debut album, Awakening , due October 1. Known for combining soaring melodies with crushing riffs, Ashes Reign take a different approach on “Start of the End,” allowing the song to build gradually through extended guitar solos, layered vocals, and a melodic progression that gives its emotional weight room to breathe. While the band's title track delivered an immediate introduction to their heavier side, “Start of the End” explores the uncertainty that can exist beneath moments of happiness, capturing the fear of losing something meaningful even when everything seems to be going right. Frontman Vinny Carrion explains: “This song is anchored in the area between happiness and sadness within our relationships, but ultimately hopeful. Caught in the weight of those intrusive thoughts where we wonder if our current happiness that we have worked so hard to obtain will come to an abrupt end.” That tension between contentment and doubt serves as the emotional foundation of “Start of the End,” giving Ashes Reign an opportunity to showcase another dimension of their songwriting ahead of the full Awakening release. The single also marks a visual departure for the band. Rather than working with their usual illustrator, bassist Ryan Neurauter stepped behind the artwork for “Start of the End,” creating the cover himself and adding another personal element to the release. “Start of the End” was mixed by Chris Dawson and mastered by Mike Kalajian and is available now across all major digital platforms. PALE HORSEMAN ANNOUNCE NEW FULL-LENGTH ALBUM RUIN OF SOULS - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PALE HORSEMAN ANNOUNCE NEW FULL-LENGTH ALBUM RUIN OF SOULS Chicago sludge metal veterans descend deeper into darkness with a crushing new album of industrial brutality, bleak melody, and existential dread For Fans Of: Godflesh, Neurosis, Obituary Chicago sludge metal veterans Pale Horseman are preparing to unleash their latest full-length album, Ruin of Souls , a devastating new chapter from a band that has spent more than fifteen years forging an increasingly massive and unsettling sound. With the album's official release date currently TBD , Pale Horseman are working toward a physical vinyl release targeted for December 2026 , with further details to be announced. Speaking about the new album, Pale Horseman describe Ruin of Souls as a deeper descent into the darkness that has defined the band's music for more than fifteen years: “On Ruin of Souls , Pale Horseman descend even deeper into the darkness they’ve been cultivating for over fifteen years. Crushing sludge riffs collide with bleak melody, industrial brutality, and an overwhelming sense of dread, creating something that is as hypnotic as it is punishing. This is heavy music stripped down to its most primal and unsettling form—music that doesn’t simply soundtrack the end times, but makes you feel like you’re already living through them.” That description captures the oppressive atmosphere at the heart of Ruin of Souls . Pale Horseman blend crushing sludge riffs with industrial textures, dissonant tension, bleak melody, and cinematic heaviness, creating a sound that feels both brutally physical and psychologically consuming. For Pale Horseman, heaviness has never been limited to sheer volume or distorted guitars. Their music explores psychological ruin, paranormal mystery, mythic violence, existential dread, and the raw burden of human suffering. The result is a sound capable of moving between crushing brutality and strangely haunting beauty without ever losing its sense of menace. Formed in 2010 , Pale Horseman have carved out a distinctive place within Chicago's underground metal scene. The band's members bring decades of experience from the city's heavy music community, with roots in acts including Couldron, Maimed, Souls Demise, Doomsday, Making Ghosts, Abortus, Deep Space Pilots, and Johnny Vomit . That history has helped shape Pale Horseman's massive and meticulously constructed approach to sludge metal, combining punishing riffs with an atmosphere that feels expansive, oppressive, and relentlessly dark. The band have also earned a reputation for intense and engulfing live performances. Throughout their career, Pale Horseman have shared stages with Acid King, Earthride, Crowbar, Whores., Bongripper, Coroner, Trouble, Vio-Lence, Karma To Burn, Eyehategod, Church of Misery , and many others, appearing at clubs, DIY spaces, and festival stages throughout the Midwest and beyond. Drawing on the mechanical brutality of Godflesh, the crushing atmospheric weight of Neurosis, and the primal heaviness associated with Obituary, Pale Horseman occupy a space where sludge, industrial metal, and darker strains of extreme metal collide. Ruin of Souls promises to carry that evolution forward, taking the band's established sound into an even darker and more oppressive territory. NORCVLT ANNOUNCES SOPHOMORE FULL-LENGTH ALBUM “DI’NA TÀCHÌ” ARRIVING NOVEMBER 2026 - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NORCVLT ANNOUNCES SOPHOMORE FULL-LENGTH ALBUM “DI’NA TÀCHÌ” ARRIVING NOVEMBER 2026 Indigenous Atmospheric Black Metal Project Begins Unveiling Its Next Chapter With First Album Promo Video Southern California (Occupied Tongva & Chumash Territories) | Atmospheric black metal project NORCVLT has officially announced the upcoming release of its sophomore full-length album, “Di’na Tàchì,” arriving November 2026 . Meaning “First Breath,” Di’na Tàchì continues the journey established by NORCVLT's debut full-length Saa Ka’nì , moving beyond darkness and destruction toward creation, awakening, and new life. NORCVLT describes the album as a journey through “the first breath, the antlered dawn, the returning waters, the awakening of spirits, the spilling of blood, the stirring of flesh, and the birth of new life.” With the album now ready to emerge, NORCVLT is beginning the unveiling process with a first promotional video and the official album artwork, with the complete tracklist set to be revealed later this week. “Di’na Tàchì — ‘First Breath’ — continues where Saa Ka’nì left off. From the darkness, destruction and the sacred flame’s inevitable end comes creation.” The forthcoming album represents another evolution of NORCVLT's atmospheric black metal sound, combining frostbitten aggression, expansive ambience, ritualistic atmosphere, cinematic scale, and a deeply personal Indigenous perspective. Fans of Uada, Yaotl Mictlan, Grima, and Agalloch may find familiar ground within NORCVLT's expansive and emotionally charged approach, while the project continues to develop its own distinct sonic mythology and spiritual identity. THE ROAD TO DI’NA TÀCHÌ The announcement of Di’na Tàchì follows NORCVLT's recent activity surrounding the single “Celestial Tearfall,” released July 9, 2026 through Red Nebula . The track serves as the second single from the forthcoming album and offers an early glimpse into the expansive world being constructed throughout Di’na Tàchì . NORCVLT also recently unveiled the official music video for “A Triumphant Warcry,” which premiered through Black Metal Artists . NoCleanSinging: Bokkerijders Premiere New Track “Calcination Pyre” Ahead of Debut Album Crush Kill Destroy - @thebeast
NoCleanSinging: Bokkerijders Premiere New Track “Calcination Pyre” Ahead of Debut Album Crush Kill Destroy Belgian black metal outfit Bokkerijders have unleashed their latest track “Calcination Pyre,” the second song revealed from their highly anticipated debut full-length, Crush Kill Destroy . Hailing from Belgium’s rich but often overlooked black metal scene, Bokkerijders formed in 2021 and quickly established their identity with the release of their debut demo in 2022. The band followed it with the Silver Dust and Swords of Gold EP in 2023, further developing their raw, riff-driven approach to metal. Now, Bokkerijders are preparing to unleash Crush Kill Destroy , which is scheduled for international release on October 23, 2026, via Personal Records . The band has premiered “Calcination Pyre” through NoCleanSinging.com , giving listeners another glimpse into what the Belgian trio have been forging on their debut album. Listen to “Calcination Pyre” in its entirety via NoCleanSinging: https://www.nocleansinging.com/2026/09/22/an-ncs-premiere-bokkerijders-calcination-pyre/ While Bokkerijders are rooted in black metal, the band takes a far broader view of what constitutes heavy metal. Their influences span the likes of Aura Noir, Slayer, and Turbonegro, with the group approaching the music without being overly concerned with rigid subgenre boundaries. That attitude carries directly into Crush Kill Destroy . The album delivers exactly what its title promises: aggressive, direct, riff-heavy metal that balances a ripping, raw production with enough clarity to let the layers of guitar work come through. The songwriting is concise and energetic, with pounding rhythms, memorable riffs, strategically placed solos, and a sense of urgency running throughout. Beneath the straightforward attack, however, there is considerably more going on. The record draws from the crusty, archaic edges of extreme metal while maintaining the band's commitment to simple, powerful songwriting. Crush Kill Destroy also carries a particularly significant weight for Bokkerijders. The album serves as a final musical statement featuring lead guitarist Wouter Lemmens , who passed away in September 2025. Following Lemmens' death, Bokkerijders will continue forward as a power trio, with Crush Kill Destroy serving as both a debut statement and a lasting piece of the band's history. The previously released title track, “Crush Kill Destroy,” is also available through Personal Records' Bandcamp, while preorders for the album are now underway.

Helldrifter Begin Preparing New Material Following Busy Touring Cycle - @thebeast
Helldrifter Begin Preparing New Material Following Busy Touring Cycle German melodic death metal outfit Helldrifter are already looking toward their next chapter, with the band confirming that work on new material will officially begin after the summer. German melodic death metal band Helldrifter are gearing up for the next phase of their career. Following an extensive period of touring and live activity, the southern German outfit has announced that they will begin working on new material after the summer. While the songwriting process remains in its early stages, the band has revealed that a substantial amount of new music is already beginning to take shape behind the scenes. The announcement comes as Helldrifter approach the end of a particularly active touring cycle supporting their latest release, Shell of Inexistence . Over the past year, the band has taken their melodic death metal attack across Germany, including an extensive support run with Dutch death metal veterans Sinister . Helldrifter subsequently continued their campaign with a series of club shows throughout Germany, building on the momentum generated by the release. The band are now preparing for their final festival appearances of the summer before turning their attention toward songwriting and the creation of what will become their next release. Although Helldrifter aren't revealing many details about the new material just yet, their latest announcement suggests that the band isn't short on ideas. Lead vocalist Billy Kolins comments: "Something new is brewing, and we're incredibly excited about what's coming. It will take some time, but one thing is for sure: there will be a lot of new material." That last part should certainly get the attention of anyone who has been following the band. With the Shell of Inexistence touring cycle winding down, Helldrifter are entering a different phase. Rather than immediately rushing another release into production, the band will have time to develop the material and determine where they want to take their sound next. For a band operating in the melodic death metal territory occupied by acts such as Carcass, At The Gates, Benediction, and Death , expectations will naturally be high. For now, however, the details remain firmly under wraps. What is known is that Helldrifter have new music brewing, the writing process is set to begin in earnest after the summer, and according to Kolins, there will be a lot of new material coming out of the process. For fans who have been following the band through their recent touring run, the next chapter is already beginning to take shape. FERAL VERMIN BRINGS PARANORMAL ENCOUNTERS, OLD-SCHOOL METAL, AND THE DARKER SIDE OF HUMANITY TO “HARVEY IN THE HOUSE” - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FERAL VERMIN BRINGS PARANORMAL ENCOUNTERS, OLD-SCHOOL METAL, AND THE DARKER SIDE OF HUMANITY TO “HARVEY IN THE HOUSE” Texas-Based Heavy Metal Act Delivers a Nostalgic, Theatrical Trip Into the Supernatural With Their New Album Release Date: September 7, 2026 Feral Vermin invites listeners into a world where old-school heavy metal, paranormal encounters, theatrical imagery, and the darker side of human nature collide with the release of their new album, Harvey in the House , released September 7, 2026. Described by the band as “old school metal with crazy paranormal encounters,” Harvey in the House draws heavily from the group's appreciation for classic metal while bringing a distinctly modern sense of atmosphere and storytelling to the material. At the center of that story is Harvey, a ghost-like entity connected to a true account from guitarist Gary Watson's home. Founded by Steven Eddie in 2013 as a largely private musical project, Feral Vermin remained relatively quiet for years with little emphasis on promotion. That changed as the lineup expanded, bringing together Eddie with Gary Watson, Morgan Heck, Cameron Brown, and theatrical performer Rick Kalifa. The resulting incarnation of Feral Vermin is built around a mixture of experience, contrasting musical backgrounds, and a shared appreciation for heavy music and theatrical presentation. Eddie handles vocals, lyrics, and guitars, bringing his experience as vocalist for Cryptic Veil, a project formed in 2013 that went on to perform throughout the DFW area and tour through Colorado and Oklahoma. He has also performed with Portals of the Tomb Guard alongside Heck and serves as vocalist and guitarist for Ink'nOrbodica, which has since evolved into Feral Vermin. Guitarist Gary Watson brings decades of musical history to the project. His career stretches back to the early 1970s, when he joined the band SWEETLEAF. The group spent years performing throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Mississippi before Watson later became involved with the Texas punk band The Mentals in the early 1980s. That musical history plays an important role in the sound of Feral Vermin. Watson's songwriting and composition help give Harvey in the House its nostalgic character, while Eddie's metal vocals and lyrical approach provide the heavier edge. Morgan Heck adds another layer of experience to the lineup as a seasoned musician and founder, guitarist, and vocalist for Sign of the Times. Bassist Cameron Brown also brings a wide-ranging musical skill set to the project, including his work on keys. Rick Kalifa completes the lineup by taking on the theatrical side of Feral Vermin, helping bring the band's visual identity and the character of Harvey to life. But Harvey is only part of the story. Feral Vermin's music explores what the band describes as “the beast of mankind” , the feral side that exists within all of us. Their subject matter reaches into darkness, wickedness, mental trauma, disorders, bad days, and the struggles that can shape the human experience. At the same time, the band doesn't view its world as being entirely consumed by darkness. There is balance. Everything is not gloom and doom. That contrast between darkness and positivity forms part of the conceptual identity behind Feral Vermin, creating a world where horror, humor, human struggle, theatricality, and heavy metal can exist side by side. Harvey in the House was produced and recorded by Steven Eddie at Hard Wall Studios and Bee Cave Records, with mixing and mastering handled by Rick Greenwood at Geneva Post Audio. For listeners drawn to the classic heaviness of Black Sabbath , the darker theatricality of Marilyn Manson , and the straightforward power of AC/DC , Feral Vermin offers a distinctly personal take on heavy metal that reaches backward for inspiration while creating its own strange little corner of the genre. Welcome to their world. Welcome to your world. Welcome to Feral Vermin . Harvey in the House is out now. METAL DEVASTATION PR ARTISTS TAKE OVER THE LATEST ISSUE OF METALIZED MAGAZINE Five Finger Death Punch Lands the Cover as Multiple Metal Devastation PR Artists Receive Reviews and Feature Coverage in the Latest Issue The latest issue of Denmark's long-running Metalized Magazine has arrived, featuring Five Finger Death Punch on the cover and a substantial showing from artists represented through Metal Devastation PR . From symphonic power metal and classic speed metal to industrial doom, thrash, technical death metal, and extreme metal, the issue showcases a wide range of artists working across today's international metal underground. Among the featured Metal Devastation PR artists are Symphony of Destiny, Sönus, Nothing Sacred, Machine Cult Ritual, Iron Wings, Eaten By Sharks, Blood of Angels, Archfiend, and Doomherre , with several receiving dedicated album reviews while others are featured in in-depth interviews. SYMPHONY OF DESTINY Heroes of Egypt | 7/10 Metalized describes Symphony of Destiny's debut EP as a dramatic and heavy first chapter that combines symphonic layers, power metal energy, and cinematic gestures with Egyptian mythology. The review highlights Anne Dueweke's dramatic vocals and Wesley Eldridge's guitar work, specifically praising tracks including "Exile of Horus," "The Riddle," and "Rampage (Bastet)." Metalized calls the release "promising, dramatic, and heavy" , noting that the Virginia band "dares to dream in CinemaScope and play with pharaonic weight." SÖNUS Planes of Torment | 7/10 California trio Sönus receives recognition for their blend of classic rock, psychedelic textures, progressive elements, and metal , with Metalized noting the spirit of rock's golden age throughout the seven-track release. The album was recorded live in the studio in an effort to preserve its raw energy, and the review describes the result as "charming" and "a nostalgic breath from a bygone era." NOTHING SACRED 4 Tracks | 8/10 Australian speed metal pioneers Nothing Sacred receive one of the issue's strongest review scores, with an 8/10 for the four tracks released from their upcoming EP. Metalized emphasizes that the band, formed in 1983, sounds "hungrier than many bands with a fraction of their seniority" and makes clear that Nothing Sacred is not simply relying on its history. "Break" and "Burning From Above" are praised for their classic speed metal, strong riffs, and catchy choruses , while "Your Time Will Come" is singled out as a highlight with a chorus that "sticks after just a few listens." The review also praises the band's ability to avoid chasing modern trends while continuing to write relevant metal, describing the production as heavy and well-balanced without losing raw energy . MACHINE CULT RITUAL Occult Mechanics | 9/10 John R. Mirland's Machine Cult Ritual receives the highest score among the featured reviews with an impressive 9/10 . Metalized describes Mirland as a longstanding figure in Denmark's industrial underground, with decades of work spanning dark ambient, experimental electronica, and industrial noise. With Occult Mechanics , those influences are channeled into a combination of industrial, death doom, and folk horror , creating a narrative centered around civilizational decay, cosmic horror, and the cold rituals of machines . The review highlights mechanical drums, suffocating riffs, and corrosive synth pads , describing the resulting atmosphere as something closer to "a dystopian ceremony than a traditional record." IRON WINGS Alpha & Omega | 7/10 Latvian thrash/heavy metal band Iron Wings earns a 7/10 for Alpha & Omega , their third full-length album. While the review is critical of some of the album's weaker moments, Metalized recognizes the band's strongest material and describes the record as a "nice cross between thrash and heavy metal." The review specifically highlights the opener's unexpected impact, several tracks on the second half of the record, and closer "Cyanide," while calling Alpha & Omega the band's third and clearly best record . Iron Wings also receive a full interview in the issue, discussing their history, their transition from Latvian to English lyrics, the evolution of their sound, the inspiration behind "Halo from Hell," their songwriting, and plans to tour in support of Alpha & Omega . EATEN BY SHARKS The Undertow of Hate | 6/10 Canadian death metal outfit Eaten By Sharks is featured with a review of their second full-length, The Undertow of Hate . Metalized describes the record as brutal technical death metal , highlighting the band's ocean-themed approach, extensive use of samples, and vocalist Matt Sheriff's ability to move between deep guttural roars and high-pitched screams . The review also notes the album's spotless production and the band's clear technical ability. BLOOD OF ANGELS Les Angst Ov Thanatous | 7/10 Tampa, Florida's Blood of Angels earns a 7/10 for Les Angst Ov Thanatous , with Metalized describing the band's music as a high-octane combination of death, black, thrash, and power metal . The nine-track album explores themes surrounding grief, violence, rituals, remembrance, and reflection. Blood of Angels also receive an extensive interview with guitarist and founder Aaron Robinson, covering the band's origins, international touring, the evolution of their songwriting, the themes behind the new album, Nordic mythology and family roots, and the band's commitment to the live experience. Robinson also discusses the band's goal of continuing to tour the UK, USA, Mexico, and Europe while helping connect generations of metal musicians. ARCHFIEND Lost Forever | 8/10 Midwest metal band Archfiend receives an 8/10 for Lost Forever , a concept album following the harrowing story of 14-year-old Jenna Lee, from an abusive home situation through human trafficking and its consequences. Metalized praises the album's strong and unsettling narrative , as well as the additional visual dimension provided through animation on the band's YouTube channel. The review calls the story "well thought out and executed" and praises the band's old-fashioned approach to music and art. DOOMHERRE "When the Doom Bullfinch Chirps" Swedish doom trio Doomherre receives a dedicated feature exploring the band's origins, influences, latest album Plaguelords , and plans for their next record. The feature highlights the band's classic doom foundation, with references to Black Sabbath and Candlemass , while bassist Max Collin discusses how the project began as a way to combat isolation during the pandemic before growing into something considerably more ambitious. Doomherre has already begun writing its third album, with Collin revealing that years of accumulated musical ideas have given the band an unusually large amount of material to work with. The feature also covers their Four Altars of Sin EP collaboration with Kaiser, Hexjakt, and Ordos, as well as the long musical history shared by members of the trio. ANOTHER STRONG SHOWING FOR METAL DEVASTATION PR The latest Metalized issue represents another significant round of exposure for the artists working with Metal Devastation PR , spanning multiple countries, generations, and corners of the metal spectrum. VENOM INC.'s CURRAN MURPHY: "AMERICA IS JUST A SALES PITCH" - @thebeast
VENOM INC. guitarist Curran Murphy has sparked a discussion among his social media followers after sharing a lengthy and outspoken post addressing his experiences with the United States and his views on American society. Murphy's comments center around what he describes as the difference between the way America is presented to its citizens and what he believes people encounter when they travel outside the country. "The weirdest thing about leaving America is realizing how much of America is just a sales pitch," Murphy wrote. He went on to compare aspects of life in the United States with what he says he has encountered overseas, pointing specifically to public transportation, healthcare, worker vacation time, pedestrian-friendly cities and other social infrastructure. "You spend your whole life hearing 'greatest country on Earth,' then you go overseas and see clean trains, safer streets, affordable medicine, cities where people can walk without playing Frogger with an SUV, and workers who take vacations without acting like they committed treason," he wrote. Murphy then turned his attention toward issues he believes Americans have become accustomed to tolerating, including infrastructure, healthcare costs, gun violence, homelessness and political polarization. "And somehow we're all supposed to stand there, hand over heart, and pretend this is normal," he wrote. Despite the criticism, Murphy made a point of distinguishing his frustration with the country's problems from hatred of America itself. "I don't hate America. I hate what America has been taught to tolerate," he stated. Murphy also challenged the idea that policies such as universal healthcare, paid leave, environmental protections and increased protections for children should be considered inherently radical. "Healthcare? Radical. Paid leave? Radical. Clean air? Radical. Kids not getting shot in math class? Somehow political," he wrote. The guitarist also took aim at what he described as performative patriotism, arguing that symbols of national pride cannot substitute for addressing problems affecting ordinary Americans. "A flag doesn't pay rent. A bald eagle doesn't cover insulin. Fireworks don't fix bridges. And chanting 'USA' doesn't make a broken system less broken," Murphy wrote. Murphy concluded by arguing that criticism of the United States does not necessarily represent a rejection of the country itself, but can instead come from a desire to see conditions improve. "America has incredible people. That's the tragedy. The people are better than the system they've been forced to defend," he wrote. He finished the post with a statement that summarizes the central argument behind his comments: "Real patriotism isn't pretending the country is perfect. Real patriotism is being angry that it isn't." Murphy's post has generated discussion among followers, with reactions ranging from agreement with his criticisms to disagreement over his characterization of American society and the country's political system. Regardless of where one stands on the issues Murphy raises, his message is unmistakably direct: he believes loving a country and criticizing its problems are not mutually exclusive. The post comes from Murphy's personal social media account and represents his own views.

SIX STRING REVOLVER’S RAVENHAWK TALKS ‘BE SOMEBODY,’ BREAKING FREE, MUSIC, AI AND THE POWER OF ROCK AND ROLL - @thebeast
SIX STRING REVOLVER’S RAVENHAWK TALKS ‘BE SOMEBODY,’ BREAKING FREE, MUSIC, AI AND THE POWER OF ROCK AND ROLL By Metal Devastation Radio There are plenty of bands making noise in the underground, but every once in a while you come across an artist whose music is tied directly to the life they've lived. For “RavenHawk” of Six String Revolver , the songs are more than just riffs, hooks and volume. They are a vehicle for telling stories, confronting darkness and, in his words, being “the voice for the voiceless.” RavenHawk recently joined The Zach Moonshine Show for a wide-ranging conversation covering the band's history, their latest album Be Somebody , the stories behind several of their songs, growing up in a high-control religious environment, his love of classic rock and metal, the importance of physical music and magazines, the growing presence of AI in music, and what lies ahead for Six String Revolver. One of the songs discussed during the interview was “Sick Mind,” a track RavenHawk describes as a statement song dealing with online predators and the dangers facing children on the internet. “You see injustice in the world like that, man. You want to speak out,” RavenHawk explained. “And the way I know how to speak out is through our music.” That philosophy appears to run throughout Six String Revolver's material. RavenHawk says longtime producer Chris Richardson once told him to “be the voice for the voiceless,” a phrase that has stayed with him. FROM A LAST-MINUTE GIG TO SIX STRING REVOLVER Six String Revolver came together in somewhat unconventional fashion. RavenHawk had previously stepped away from music after a former band dissolved. Then came an opportunity to open for Saving Abel and P.O.D. There was just one problem. He didn't actually have a band. “I got a call to open up for Saving Abel, the band, Saving Abel and P.O.D.,” RavenHawk recalled. “And I was like, ‘Oh, I don't have a band, but OK, I want to do it.’” So he assembled what he describes as some of the best musicians he could find locally and revived the Six String Revolver name from an earlier project. The newly assembled lineup went directly onto the stage opening for P.O.D. and Saving Abel, and according to RavenHawk, things took off from there. One of the key pieces of the Six String Revolver lineup is guitarist Hawkeye Pierce, whom RavenHawk describes as a “living legend” around Southern Utah. “He really is the sixth string of Six String Revolver,” RavenHawk said. “If I'm the revolver, he's the sixth string.” MUSIC AS AN ESCAPE Perhaps the most revealing portion of the conversation came when RavenHawk discussed his childhood. Born into a doomsday religious cult, he grew up in an environment where music and popular culture were heavily restricted. His parents were members of the group, and RavenHawk says his childhood was dominated by fear, control and the belief that the end of the world could arrive at any moment. His first major musical obsession came from an unlikely source: a library book about Jim Morrison. “I ran across the book called No One Gets Out of Here Alive , the Jim Morrison story,” he explained. He hadn't even heard The Doors at that point. After reading about Morrison, however, RavenHawk knew exactly what he wanted. “I was like, ‘I want to be freaking Jim Morrison.’” A video of The Doors performing at the Hollywood Bowl cemented it. From there, he began secretly seeking out music and eventually discovered bands including Guns N' Roses. RavenHawk says music ultimately became his escape from the environment in which he was raised. “I went out and got in a band and started touring with a band,” he said. “Music was basically my escape from all of this that I had to go through.” He later wrote an entire book about his experiences and says helping people who have escaped high-control groups has become an important part of his life. “DEAD JAIL ROCK'N'ROLL” IS PERSONAL That personal history also finds its way directly into the Six String Revolver catalog. RavenHawk discussed “Dead Jail Rock'n'Roll,” explaining that the song contains an event from his own life. “I once threw a knife at my boss's ever-loving head,” he said. “That's an absolute true story.” The song reflects his deep resistance to being controlled, something he connects directly to his childhood. “I was taught to be a slave my whole life,” RavenHawk explained. “I just can't do it, man.” For him, rock and roll represents the opposite of that experience. “That's what rock'n'roll is about, man. Freedom.” THE INFLUENCE OF JIM MORRISON, AXL ROSE AND THE CLASSIC ERA RavenHawk's musical education may have started with The Doors, but his influences eventually expanded into the hard rock and metal world. Guns N' Roses made a particularly strong impact. When he heard Axl Rose's vocals on Appetite for Destruction , he heard something raw and unpredictable that connected with him. RavenHawk also spoke about how reading stories about musicians who had survived difficult childhoods affected him personally. He specifically discussed Axl Rose's background and the way discovering similarities between their experiences gave him inspiration. “If he can do it from a very similar environment, why can't I?” RavenHawk recalled thinking. That became part of the reason he chose to tell his own story publicly. “Maybe it'll be some kid listening and going, ‘Hey, that guy can do it. I can do it too.’” SIX STRING REVOLVER AND THE HUMAN ELEMENT OF MUSIC The conversation eventually turned toward the current state of the music industry and the growing presence of artificial intelligence. RavenHawk isn't completely opposed to AI as a tool. He explained that he can see value in using technology to build out a song idea when presenting material to other musicians. But when it comes to Six String Revolver, he is clear about one thing. “No AI on it at all,” he said. The band's music is performed by the musicians themselves, with the record having been recorded in California with engineer Tom and produced by the band's drummer, known as Monster. For RavenHawk, the imperfections of human musicianship are part of what makes rock and metal special. He wants to hear what an artist has experienced, what they have to say and what they bring to the music. “I want to hear the passion. I want to hear the message,” he said. He also wants the complete album experience, from the lyrics and artwork to the production choices and the little details hidden inside the recordings. That human connection is something he doesn't believe can simply be replicated by a machine. BRING BACK THE MAGAZINES The discussion also took a nostalgic turn as RavenHawk and Zach Moonshine talked about the golden era of metal magazines. Titles such as Metal Edge , Hit Parader , Circus , Metal Maniac and RIP were all part of the conversation, along with the posters, advertisements and interviews that introduced an entire generation of fans to new bands. Before streaming algorithms and social media feeds, the record store and magazine rack were discovery engines. You bought a cassette. You read the liner notes. You checked out the advertisements. You saw a band you'd never heard of and went looking for their music. For RavenHawk, that physical connection still matters. He wants to know who made the music, what the musicians are doing, what they believe in and what their lives look like outside the songs. It's also one reason he believes the human side of underground music remains so important in the age of AI. BE SOMEBODY AND WHAT COMES NEXT Six String Revolver is currently promoting its latest album, Be Somebody , while also working on new videos and continuing to push the band's music forward. The road ahead, however, has included a major challenge. Guitarist Hawkeye Pierce is currently battling stage 3 cancer and had recently undergone surgery at the time of the interview. Despite the difficult circumstances, RavenHawk remains determined to keep the band's music moving. “He's going to come back better than ever,” he said. And apparently Hawkeye hasn't lost his sense of humor. While recovering in the hospital, he has reportedly been attempting to convince hospital staff to ditch their scrubs in favor of Six String Revolver merchandise. He has even tried recruiting nurses for the band's imaginary dance team. So far, hospital policy has prevented the campaign from succeeding. But Hawkeye apparently isn't giving up. A LADDER IN THE SKY Outside of Six String Revolver, RavenHawk has also released a solo song titled “Ladder in the Sky,” written years ago and recently released by Rage Breed around the 25th anniversary of September 11. Although the song moves outside the normal Six String Revolver style, RavenHawk says it allowed him to revisit material he'd written long ago. He also revealed that his experience as a volunteer firefighter influenced the song's focus on the firefighters who rushed into danger during the attacks. Whatever questions people may have about the events themselves, RavenHawk says the people who risked and lost their lives trying to save others deserve to be remembered. THE REVOLVER KEEPS SPINNING What comes through most clearly during the conversation with RavenHawk is that Six String Revolver isn't simply another band releasing another album. The music is connected to a lifetime of experiences. From discovering Jim Morrison in a library to secretly listening to rock and metal as a kid, from escaping an abusive environment to building a career in music, RavenHawk has spent decades turning those experiences into songs. And now, with Be Somebody out in the world and Six String Revolver continuing to release music, that story is still being written. “I love expressing myself,” RavenHawk said. “I love trying to help other people that are in need of a message and a story that they can grab onto, that can inspire them.” In an era where an endless stream of new music can disappear almost as quickly as it arrives, that's perhaps the most important thing an underground artist can do. Have something real to say. Then turn it up loud. DROID KILLER ANNOUNCES NEW FULL-LENGTH ALBUM 2030 JIHAD - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DROID KILLER ANNOUNCES NEW FULL-LENGTH ALBUM 2030 JIHAD Antarctica-Based Sci-Fi Metal Cult Act Unleashes Title Track Ahead of May 2027 Album Release FFO: Megadeth, White Zombie, Six Feet Under Black Halo The new era of Droid Killer begins. Antarctica-based Sci-Fi Metal force Droid Killer has officially announced its highly anticipated new full-length album, 2030 JiHad , the epic sequel to the band's 2023 debut album, The Terminator vs. The Preacher . The magnum opus is set for release May 21, 2027 via Black Halo , with the album's explosive title track, "2030 JiHad," available now following its release on September 11, 2026. "The new era of Droid Killer begins! Droid Killer announces full length album 2030 JiHad, the highly anticipated sequel to The Terminator vs. The Preacher. The Droid Killer magnum opus 2030 Jihad is coming! Welcome to The Apocalypse." Droid Killer is the definitive Sci-Fi Metal experience, based in Antarctica and chronicling a human/machine war apocalypse in real time. As the glaciers of Antarctica melt, something ancient and imprisoned beneath the subterranean ice is unleashed. Humanity has become enslaved by its own technology, and resistance rises as soulless death machines wage war against organic life. With 2030 JiHad , Droid Killer takes the saga deeper into its apocalyptic universe. The story began with the band's debut EP, The Hive , introducing a grim future where demonic machines begin cleansing the world of human life. That story expanded with Droid Killer's 2023 debut full-length, The Terminator vs. The Preacher , which explored the origins of the machine war and followed The Preacher as he travels through time from the Old West into the future to confront the machines. Now, 2030 JiHad moves the story onto the battlefield of the future. The remnants of conscious, living humanity fight for their very existence on a death-star planet where mind-controlled zombies wage war against conscious human life and artificial intelligence feeds upon human souls. Each Droid Killer full-length album is accompanied by a companion Sci-Fi novel , expanding the band's mythology beyond the music and further developing its apocalyptic universe. At its core, Droid Killer chronicles the timeless battle between good and evil, life and death, the synthetic and the organic , while exploring the mythology of creation rising against its creator. The band's music serves as the soundtrack to a world where technology, prophecy, humanity and destruction collide. Musically, Droid Killer describes its sound as Death Metal / Doom Metal / Life Metal , combining a distinctive "electric voodoo" guitar style with Death Metal that moves like classic rock and the crushing weight of Doom Metal. The result is a future-primitive sound built around molten riffs, subterranean arena anthems and a relentless celebration of the human spirit. The production team behind 2030 JiHad includes Brian J. Sienkevich on mixing and production, with legendary mastering engineer Ted Jensen handling mastering. The album artwork was created by Zachary Jackson Brown , photography comes from Trevor Bexon , and the Droid Killer logo was created by Ross Sewage . 2030 JiHad arrives May 21, 2027 , with the companion novel and merchandise also slated for May 2027. The title track "2030 JiHad" is available now. I AM HUMAN! Droid Killer is your lifeline during the human/machine war apocalypse as the future unfolds. 2030 JIHAD Droid Killer Black Halo Release Date: May 21, 2027 Title Track: "2030 JiHad" - Out Now 2030 JiHad by Droid Killer Connect: https://linktr.ee/droidkiller Contact: droidkillermilitia@disciples.com
