Ok! Big decision time. The new weird AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 CPU is showing up in several mini & desktop rigs. 16C/32T, Radeon 8060S iGPU, 50 TOPS NPU — you can add 128gb of ram and it’s accessible to the GPU so perfect for local AI with big models. It’s a serious shot at Mac Studio for local AI.

Not broad. It's literal. State code for BRT here. 51A on this stretch 100% qualifies. It's got all door boarding thanks to clipper. A very defined stop. That dedicated BRT lane even has separate signalized lights. And the 51A has 12-minute service during peak times. It's wild.

This is pretty huge though. Alameda Landing was already upzoned to meet our last housing element but not the marina village shopping center or alameda college in Peralta could add student/teacher housing. This is within the circumference of another already planned project that could add floors.

Ok I guess I’ve decided to spend the week off I have between resigning my old job and starting my new one with installing and tweaking Arch Linux on an old laptop. Someone these options seem redundant. I use arch btw

If your favorite Chinese dim sum restaurant doesn’t have have a 12 foot big screen tv with pirated Chinese tv powered by an unactivated copy of Windows next to their seafood tanks I don’t want to go.

My internet is faster than your internet. I can’t believe this is the speed I get on my MacBook at home in a suburban neighborhood in a house built in 1900. In 1997 I was happy to have 1mbps and I had the fastest internet in my entire school.

Why is this massive duely lifted truck in our urbanized island city? You can’t even park that anywhere. It won’t fit. Also where is your license plate bro? I use that excuse of a bike lane right there everyday and you make it dangerous. We don’t need your type around here.

Getting these speeds on home WiFi and Ethernet respectively is absolutely insane. Thanks Sonic

A door to door AT&T sales person tried to come to my door and straight up lie to me that Sonic leased their fiber and they could give it to me cheaper when Sonic strung up their own fiber last year and they offer 2x the speed for 1/5th the price.

My wife and I decided that rather than repair our older crappy Samsung fridge, that because of the tariffs, we went ahead and bought a new fridge today before the tariffs jack up the price and got one already in inventory before they’re gone. Most fridge parts are made in Mexico and China.

Verified this claim myself. TikTok is actively censoring certain searches about Donald Trump from the US. Using a VPN they all work. TikTok has been taken over by conservative media. This is terrifying.

TikTok back online but fuck this message

So accounts on TikTok that were created in the US can’t login, regardless of the country you are in, but foreign created accounts can still see US content. Builds of TikTok in the US App Store are also restricted from login but builds of the app in other app stores still work. From France:

VPN’s won’t work around the TikTok ban.

TikTok and CapCut are gone. Servers are shutting off now. Land of the free. Home of the brave.

Well, it’s been amazing! What an amazing community we are losing. Good bye to my 100,000 followers. I’ve made some 720 videos in 4.5 years. Going to try to grow my YouTube more where I have some 34k subs already.

170

This is the funniest thing to happen with the TikTok ban. TikTok refugees are flocking to an actual Chinese owned clone of TikTok called RedBook rather than use Meta or YouTube to the point it’s #1 on the AppStore now. It’s wild. Everyone is learning mandarin. Existing users are super welcoming.

The MacOS 15.2 update. WTF Apple? When you plug in an external monitor, the monitor icon on the menu bar icon lights up purple persistently. This is awful. 15.2 fixed an external monitor bug with persisting HDR settings but regressed with this nonsense. Like it makes sense for casting but with HDMI?
