Great find if the light meter is still good. Very underrated camera!

This seems like exactly the right amount of effort! Beautiful...

Great author as well. Read "John Dies at the End" when it was serialized online, and haven't missed a book since.

That's really cool, glad to know it's an option now that I'm getting into minox...

Yeah...still love cemetery photography myself. Peace and art and monuments to love, with just a touch of macabre romance. Great photo!

Been trying to dial in for #ShittyCameraChallenge Minox iii, Delta 100, Valoi Easy35. I really like the look of these pics. Somewhere between a digital "toy camera" filter and pushed HP5.

One of the films that kicked off my obsession with retro movie screenings. Carolinatheatre.org in Durham, NC showed it and I was there. So amazing and weird. Wish I could go back in time and be part of the crew on Zardoz.

This comment hit hard, that's exactly how I ended up with Damn Yankees on cassette...get out of my head...

I have that same lens and I agree that it's underrated! Makes a sweet trail/travel setup.

I think it comes from modern corporate culture. Everyone spends all day trying to "chime in" on Teams meetings, but they don't know anything. Visibility is more important than knowledge or ability. AI makes it 1000 times worse.

Hasselblad 903 SWC ROLLEIFLEX 2.8F Epson R-D1 and weirdly...a Fujipet in 120. And an Xpan, but who doesn't want one...

Yep, bought the Ricoh GR iv monochrome for the high dr, ended up mostly shooting in the "Solid" profile that looks like pushed Tri-X.

I have a Zorki 4k, takes surprisingly good photos.

More middle-of-the-night photography in abandoned parking lots near work. Shift work is boring... #nightphotography #blackandwhite #monochrome

Night photo of rusty shipping containers in a parking lot.

Reflective crosswalk signs stored together in a dark parking lot.

An old, dilapidated basketball goal in the foreground against a pitch black sky.

Post a poster you used to have in your room, apartment, or house. Monty Python's Ministry of Silly Walks.

A poster of John Cleese in a suit and tie with a derby and a briefcase. He has one foot up high in a ridiculous walk.

Hard to beat a good Spotmatic! And all of the Takumar lenses are great.

Love your art! Just binged Widow's Bay, and it is officially my new favorite show. Can't wait to see if they can land it.

Most ridiculous lens hood ever. I also have one...

Aaaaand found one in m mount on the big ugly auction site. Thanks for the good advice and bad influence.

Looking back through your photos...great...now I actually want the Hektor 135mm. I'll tell my wife it's your fault.

010

Zablalbaz @zablalbaz.bsky.social · 13/05/2026

Now you're just bragging...but that sounds amazing. I have a iiif with a 50 summitar and a couple of Zorki's. Thinking I need to reevaluate my lens collection. I use sunny 16/best guess, but I scan my film so it's easy to fix my mistakes.

Love the feel of the Barnack style cameras. That's a very fun setup!

To be fair, as someone who worked for a few years as a jail/courthouse building maintenance mechanic, I never saw justice. I saw a factory that produced worse criminals to imprison for profit.

Zablalbaz @zablalbaz.bsky.social · 04/05/2026

Yeah, I can understand. Thinking about doing something similar. Until then I will live vicariously through your posts! I would probably have already found a way, but old cameras that have lots of electronics make me nervous about longevity.

010

Zablalbaz @zablalbaz.bsky.social · 04/05/2026

Love your xpan shots, thanks for posting them. Makes me want to sell my car to get one!

Zablalbaz @zablalbaz.bsky.social · 01/05/2026

Great images and Great article! Nice to see a WordPress photography site going strong. As toy cameras go, ever try the old Time-Life cameras? I have one somewhere...

My favorite theater, the excellent Carolina Theatre in Durham, NC. Has retro movies all the time, with double features on most Fridays. When the enshitification of everything gets me down, seeing Rear Window or The Maltese Falcon in a classic restored theater is my sanctuary and my meditation.

Classic theater lighted overhang in black and white.

The real neon Carolina Theatre sign in black and white.

Got the Ricoh GR iv monochrome and having a good time with it. Overpriced but I always wanted a digital monochrome, and it's turning out to be a new favorite. My first GR. Can see why they have a cult following. #monochrome #blackandwhite
