Y'know, some of us are too smooth-brained to play Skyrim or Witcher or Pokemon or GTA or COD or whatever, I have my comforts and my comforts are mine. #My9Games

Finally got around to seeing HOPE and found most of it unacceptable. Y'all's FURY ROAD comparisons are difficult and insane. Can we place a moratorium on this particular subsect of creature design?

Aight so I was waiting to see if they'd restock the easily restockable PRIDE AND PREJUDICE 4K release and they did NOT so I bought it separately on Prime Day at a discount. But turns out, not a bad pull for a $200 gift card, so I picked up some stuff for my siblings and I. Merch stores are bizarre

Almost a year out from this last post, and it is becoming more and more likely that the most popular movie I haven't seen might eventually become 27 DRESSES and I am confounded by that standard.

Dom Meyer @za4e.bsky.social · 30/05/2026

Is BACKROOMS the first movie that customized its A24 logo? They always do it in the trailers, but I don't recall any movie altering the actual opening logos.

If you were a video game character, what would your health pickup be?

Dom Meyer @za4e.bsky.social · 16/05/2026

This same WILD HORSE NINE trailer gives Parker Posey the cred. The WIDOWS trailer gave every nominee at the time cred except for Liam Neeson. Wes Studi didn't even win competetively, and the MENDING THE LINE trailer still gave him his flowers. This is going to drive me crazy.

000

Dom Meyer @za4e.bsky.social · 16/05/2026

I know there's probably a boring contractual reasoning for this, but why do movie trailers flaunt awards cred for some cast members and not for others? Tom Waits is both an Oscar-nominee and a Golden Globe winner.

Posting for posterity. Pretty confident at this point I will not be able to see CUTTING THROUGH ROCKS prior to the ceremony.

Watched a 4.5-minute long 35mm trailer for THE BLUES BROTHERS. This was the top comment.

Look I know it's not gonna make as much money as Wuthering or Crime 101 or Goat or the new Verbinski or maybe even Raimi's or Markiplier's backend, but if you're gonna reduce showtimes for smaller movies you could at least schedule them for timeframes that don't overlap.

Finally bit the bullet and got Letterboxd PRO, which is a mildly disappointing affair because the OUR GANG shorts overwhelmingly dominate my stats, but Tyler Perry making my Top 10 most watched directors despite this is very funny to me.

Posting for posterity, but here are my Oscar predictions for tomorrow. Super excited to see a sizable horror and international feature presence, but also holding out hope for TRAIN DREAMS and THE TESTAMENT OF ANN LEE. May be lowballing BUGONIA and WICKED FOR GOOD but them's the breaks.

You will never guess in a million years what Ralph Fiennes is doing in this scene but you WILL be applauding by the end of it. What a picture.

While I appreciate this re-releaae, this marketing is confounding. There's been virtually no indication of how enormous this movie is.

I've been going through my Facebook memories every day this year to pinpoint when I watched certain movies so I can log them on Letterboxd, thing is even when I log them in the past they still show up in my recent activity. Thought this was a pretty strange bunch.
