Today I played friendly Edison games at locals for six hours straight (5-11PM) and for the first time since I went back into ygo I didn't feel guilty about giving a slight rarity bump to a deck I really love (this guy + 3x secret white stones + 3x QCR blue-eyes) Quitting modern feels therapeutic

Looking at any footage of gen 2 early game makes me physically sick as I remember the amount of grinding those games expect you to do in order to have an evenly levelled team, especially between gyms 3 and 5

Afaik the main reason Rush Duel was able to do away with listing the card needed for a ritual summon is because ritual monsters reside in the extra deck. In the regular TCG it would be harder for a beginner to understand why they can't just tribute summon the Black Luster Soldier they just drew

I haven't played modern in like six months but I used to go to this pretty big locals (15-ish people consistently, full of whales and sweats) and there was this guy playing Lyrilusc Tri-Brigade who'd only run like 6 HTs and would always top by just being insanely cracked at a toolboxy pet deck
